  • The purpose of this study was to analyze research trends on recycling of construction wastes. Total 72 research papers published in domestic academic journals from 1995 to 2016 were analyzed. Four indicators were used for analytical framework of this study: research period, research field, research method, and research theme. The greatest amount of researches related to construction wastes recycling were executed during 2006-2010. Over half of the researches were done in architecture area. The most frequently used research method was combined method which used qualitative and qualitative method simultaneously. In terms of research theme, many of the subject researches were interested in understanding the current state of construction wastes recycling. It is recommended for further research to perform meta analysis which extends research subjects and range of keyword in macro perspective.

  • This study presents an analysis of a total of 101 papers on the theme of international research cooperation by nation, gathered from Web of Science. The findings of this study show that 20 nations published papers on the theme of international research cooperation with the ranking of U.K.(27 papers, 26.7%), the Netherlands(20 papers, 19.8%), U.S.(19 papers, 18.8%), Brazil and Spain(5 papers, 5.0%), Russia(4 papers, 4.0%), etc. South Korea was found to be in the lower ranking group(2 papers, 2.0%), suggesting that it still has a lower level of international research cooperation. Thus, particularly, researchers at universities by institution and humanities by discipline should activate the publication of papers on international research cooperation by expanding relevant projects so that the international research capabilities of South Korea should be bolstered.

  • The present study conducted ethnography of a welfare facility for single-father families. The participants were 13 single-fathers living in a welfare facility. To explore life within the welfare facility, the qualitative research method of ethnography was used with Spradley's developmental research sequence (DRS). The major results of this study were as follows. The first theme was 'finding a way to overcome the crisis: the facility is a lifeline.' For fathers, choosing to enter a facility meant enduring a social stigma, but the decision was made with the hope of achieving successful parenting and economic independence amidst pressing difficulties. The category of living in the facility was represented by the theme 'build the family: preparing for independence through living in a welfare facility.' The fathers achieved psychological recovery through the decrease in parenting stress, improvements in their economic situation brought by living in a facility, and used this time as the foundation to gain independence and build a stable life. The event of departure from the facility was seen as 'incomplete preparation for departure' by the single fathers. The fathers with infants or younger children admitted to being anxious about leaving the facility, which involved the burden of raising the children on their own. There are practical and policy-related implications based on the results of this study.

  • Purpose : This study aimed to explore and describe good nursing experiences of patients with cancer. Methods : Data were collected using individual in-depth interviews with 15 males and 8 females who were hospitalized in a Korean cancer hospital. The transcribed script was analyzed using Colaizzi's phenomenological method. Results : As a result, three theme clusters and nine themes were identified. The three theme clusters were as follows: "being kind and expert in every step along the cancer care trajectory," "taking an omnipotent mediator role supporting patients' well-being," and "providing professional care touching patients' mind and body." Three themes were assigned to each cluster to illustrate the given phenomena. Conclusion : Cancer patients wanted considerate understanding and sincere care from nurses while they experienced physical and emotional suffering owing to the cancer, treatment trajectory, and hospital system. To improve the quality of nursing care for cancer patients, patient-centered care combined with nurses' expertise in oncology care must be provided based on the insights from our study's findings.

This study aimed to comprehensively understand and describe the meaning of postnatal social support experience in primiparous women. Methods: The participants were seven primiparous women who were within 1 year after childbirth, recruited through purposive and snowball sampling from an online parenting community. The data were collected through in-depth interviews from November 14 to 28, 2022. Participants were interviewed face-to-face or via phone or online platform, according to their choice. Colaizzi's phenomenological qualitative research method was applied to analyze the meaning of the participants' experience. Results: Five theme clusters and fourteen themes were identified from the data. The five theme clusters are as follows: (1) Shortcomings of the childbirth and postpartum care system I learned through my experience; (2) Government policies focusing on childbirth and child-rearing rather than postpartum recovery; (3) Driving force of postpartum recovery: Shared childbirth process; (4) Childcare on my own; and (5) Conflicted between being a stay-at-home mom and a working mom under inadequate maternity protection policies. Conclusion: Despite postpartum support from the government that was perceived as inadequate, first-time mothers regained confidence and motivation for parenting with the help of family, peers, and social networks. First-time mothers need support from professionals and reliable online communities for postpartum recovery and parenting.
