Document Replacement Policy by Web Site Popularity (웹 사이트의 인기도에 의한 도큐먼트 교체정책)

  • General web caches save documents temporarily into themselves on the basis of those documents. And when a corresponding document exists within the cache on user's request. web cache sends the document to corresponding user. On the contrary. when there is not any document within the cache, web cache requests a new document to the related server to copy the document into the cache and then turn it back to user. Here, web cache uses a replacement policy to change existing document into a new one due to exceeded capacity of cache. Typical replacement policy includes document-based LRU or LFU technique and other various replacement policies are used to replace the documents within cache effectively. However. these replacement policies function only with regard to the time and frequency of document request. not considering the popularity of each web site. Based on replacement policies with regard to documents on frequent requests and the popularity of each web site, this paper aims to present the document replacement policies with regard to the popularity of each web site, which are suitable for latest network environments to enhance the hit-ratio of cache and efficiently manage the contents of cache by effectively replacing documents on intermittent requests by new ones.

Throughput and Delay Analysis of a Reliable Cooperative MAC Protocol in Ad Hoc Networks

  • In this paper, we present the performance evaluation of the reliable cooperative media access control (RCO-MAC) protocol, which has been proposed in [1] by us in order to enhance system throughput in bad wireless channel environments. The performance of this protocol is evaluated with computer simulation as well as mathematical analysis in this paper. The system throughput, two types of average delays, average channel access delay, and average system delay, which includes the queuing delay in the buffer, are used as performance metrics. In addition, two different traffic models are used for performance evaluation: The saturated traffic model for computing system throughput and average channel access delay, and the exponential data generation model for calculating average system delay. The numerical results show that the RCO-MAC protocol proposed by us provides over 20% more system throughput than the relay distributed coordination function (rDCF) scheme. The numerical results show that the RCO-MAC protocol provides a slightly higher average channel access delay over a greater number of source nodes than the rDCF. This is because a greater number of source nodes provide more opportunities for cooperative request to send (CRTS) frame collisions and because the value of the related retransmission timer is greater in the RCO-MAC protocol than in the rDCF protocol. The numerical results also confirm that the RCO-MAC protocol provides better average system delay over the whole gamut of the number of source nodes than the rDCF protocol.

  • Nowadays, it is more difficult to find people who do not use mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. Contents that can be accessed at the touch of a finger is overflowing. However, the existing network has a structure in which it is difficult to efficiently respond to the problems caused by overflowing contents. In particular, the bottleneck problem that occurs when multiple users intensively request content from the server at the same time is a representative problem. To solve this problem, the CCN has emerged as an alternative to future networks. CCN uses the network bandwidth efficiently through the In-Network Cache function of the intermediate node to improve the traffic required for user to request to reach the server, to reduce response time, and to distribute traffic concentration within the network. I propose a cache policy that can improve efficiency in such a CCN environment.

The Design of Reliable Graphics-DTV Signal Converter Using EDAC Algorithm in DTV System

  • In the integrated systems, that is integrated digital TV(DTV) internet and home automation, like home server, is needed integration of digital TV video signal and computer graphic signal. The graphic signal is operating at the high speed and has time-divide-stream. So the re-request of data is not easy at the time of error detection. therefore EDAC algorithm is efficient. In this paper, we show a scheme, that is integration of graphic and dtv format signal for DTV monitor display. This paper also presents the efficiency error detection auto correction(EDAC) for conversion of graphics signal to DTV video signal. A presented EDAC algorithms use the modified hamming code for enhancing video quality and reliability. A EDAC algorithm of this paper can detect single error, double error, triple error and more error for preventing from incorrect correction. And it is not necessary an additional memory. In this paper The comparison between digital TV video signal and graphic signal, a EDAC algorithm and a design of conversion graphic signal to DTV signal with EDAC function in DTV system is described.

An Erasure Node Algorithm for DQDB Networks (DQDB망 소거노드 알고리즘)

  • In this DQDB networks, erasure nodes may be allocated on the bus and release slots which already had been read by destination nodes. An important function of the erasure node must be to eliminate as many requests as erased slots used by downstream nodes. In the networks with priorities, following two additional issues must be solved : (1) accurately to guess for which priority the erased slots is to be used, and (2) to find in a short period a request of that priority to cancel. In this paper, we propose two erasure node algorithms based on elimination of the requests. In these algorithms, the requests are eliminated excessively at low load but optimum elimination can be achieved at full load. Simulation results show that these two algorithms have similar access delay to that of existing algorithms at low load and better performance at high load.

  • Request for network becomes complicated gradually and network traffic is increasing, To overcome this situation, the structure of network node should be changed to accept new service quickly and economically by executing program code in node itself. Active Network's research can use net resources more properly because of executing program within node itself. In this paper, we design a programming language, namely ASL, for Active Sensor to describe function and behavior of active sensor. We also design and implement the interpreter for proposed ASL.

  • Social interest and request about low pollution waste treatment process are growing and gasification melting method, as a new technology concept, is risen. The necessity of engineering analysis to determine design standards and operation condition is required. In this study, the objective and function of components and operation process of various gasification melting furnaces such as shaft type, fluidized bed and Rotary Kiln type gasification melting furnace are reviewed and the design standard and operation range of gasification melting furnace are determined by inspecting the change of output and operation condition with input condition change.

  • Policy base management system that can satisfy various user's request in distributed system environment recently and manage network resources efficiently is required. Described policy base management information consisted of ECA(Event-Condition-Action) rules so that efficient management of various communication network and consistent management policy may be available in this paper. Policy is consisted of Event, Condition and Actions to achieve when condition is satisfied.
