  • The Chosun Dynasty established and implemented measures to prevent Japanese invasion into the southern coast. To this end, the number of naval vessels and the number of ships were increased, and a shipyard(船所) was constructed to protect the safety of the vessels. The shipyard is a port facility where military vessels are anchored and repaired, as well as public facilities that are needed for military training on public and land, as well as facilities for storing supplies and equipment needed for ships on land and defense at the port entrance. Despite being such an important facility for national defense, Shipyard has not been noticed. Studies have shown that the position of shipyard is divided into the riverside type and the riverbank type, which is due to the topographical features of Korea. The repair cycle of naval vessels, the carrying out of Yeonhun(prevent the water from decaying the part of the ship, a raw tree was burned to smoke) and the place of sea training also affected the construction of the Gul River(掘江). The space structure of shipyard is divided into port entry facilities for monitoring and controlling at the entrance to the harbor, border facilities for folding and repairing military vessels, and land facilities for holding land exercises and administrative work of military vessels and military equipment.

  • The management of defects in barracks facilities is carried out in such a way that defects found by the facility's manager are listed and requested to be repaired by the contractor. However, the standards and methods for the inspection of defects in the management of these defects are not specified in detail, so it is difficult to check the defects in detail. In response, the study first analyzed the current status of the number of defects that occurred in 2021 at official residences and barracks of certain units. As a result of the analysis, the number of defects that were not taken care of and that were not taken until the previous month was more than 10 cases on average per month. In order to reduce the number of such defects, major improvements in the field, timing, and safety inspection were found after the inspection of the military's facilities and safety, and the analysis of the manual of maintenance management. In addition, items for improvement of the checklist were derived through an analysis of the repair of defects caused by the unit's official residence and a total of 10 barracks facilities. Based on this, a checklist was proposed to manage defects in barracks facilities through interviews with military facility managers.

  • This study proposed a breakdown structure for maintenance and management technologies under the concept of comprehensive asset management at the life cycle level of infrastructure based on benchmarking with other developed countries. For this purpose, a comparative case study was performed to review and analyze the existing definitions and hierarchies for infrastructure maintenance, repair, and rehabilitation (MR&R) systems under major industrialized countries and South Korea. In accordance with the ratio of maintenance costs to GDP, the U.S., U.K, and Japan were selected to review their systems. The classifications and definitions of MR&R technologies under the laws were analyzed. The result showed that most developed countries differentiate maintenance and repair from improvement and constitute a system centered on preventive maintenance activities. On the other hand, Korea's system for facility management is not definitely classified and still focused on reactive structures, which need to be improved. In this study, as proposed, a breakdown structure established the concept of Maintenance and Management, Maintenance & Repair, and Performance Improvement. Consequently, this study could be used as the basis for the implementation of preventive MR&R activities and reasonable resource allocations from an asset management point of view.

  • The number of public rental housing has increased according to the government's 「Housing Welfare Roadmap (2017)」, and facility maintenance costs for the demand of improvement of performance and residential standards due to the aging of long-term public housing are significantly increasing. Consequently, the financial burden of public housing rental business for maintaining stocked housing is aggravated. However, there is a lack of objective data to analyze the size of the maintenance costs that are executed by the type of repair work, and the elapsed years of the aged long-term public rental housing. This study analyzes the execution status of 33 long-term public rental housing complexes located in Seoul for 14 to 28 years of elapsed years based on the data of maintenance costs. In addition, this study proposes a model to predict the maintenance costs by elapsed years by dividing 'Long-term Repair Plan Work and Government-Funded Project [Y1]', 'Planned Repair Work and General & Unplanned Repair Work [Y2]', and 'Total maintenance costs [Y3]'. It is intended to be used as basic data for the establishment of the maintenance plan at the stage of setting up the budget and the establishment of the sustainable operation plan for public rental housing

  • After the collapse of the Seongsu Bridge in the 1990s in Korea, attention was focused on the maintenance of facilities. The government has established various policies since the enactment of the Act in 1995 until recently. In general, safety inspections are performed to evaluate the safety grade of facilities, and facilities are maintained and managed by performing repairs and reinforcements for defects. However, since the budget is limited, it is impossible to carry out repair and reinforcement projects for all defects. It is necessary to prioritize repair and reinforcement measures. Then, the priority index (PI) is presented considering the importance of members, the seriousness of defects, and economic feasibility. In this index, the degree of influence can be adjusted within the range of 50 to 100% according to the expert's subjective judgment, and the same weight is set for some specific members. Also, the effect through repair and reinforcement is not taken into account decisively, and most of them have a limit in which priority is determined by economic feasibility. Therefore, in this study, through several case studies, problems with the priority index were reviewed and an equation was presented to improve them.

  • As power consumption is maximized, research on augmented reality-based monitoring systems for on-site facility managers to maintain and repair power facilities is being actively conducted as individual power brokerages and power production facilities increase. However, in the case of existing augmented reality-based monitoring systems, it is difficult to accurately detect patterns due to problems such as external environment, facility complexity, and interference with the lighting environment, and it is not possible to match various sensing information and service information for power facilities to one pattern. there is a problem. For this reason, since sensor information is matched using a single image pattern for each sensor of a power facility, a plurality of image patterns are required to augment and provide all information. In this paper, we propose a single image pattern arrangement method that matches and provides a plurality of information through an array combination of feature patterns in a single image composed of a plurality of feature patterns.

  • The important issues of facility database management in GIS are to collect up-to-date information and to update information in accordance with new-establishment, repair and replacement of the facilities. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a system which has capability of monitoring facilities as well as managing database efficiently. The purpose of this study is to propose possibility of implementation of mobile GIS solution for the facility management. In order to achieve the goal, to process existing digital maps and to receive on-site information through the wireless communication service are required. In addition, the system is required to process spatial information obtained by GPS and digital photogrammetric technique with real-time updating database in server. The system increases efficiency both in work flow and monitoring for facility management by providing optimal routing information to the sites and real-time two-way communication using VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol). The system is expected to perform real-time database management effectively. In consequence, the system could appropriately response on-site situations in various practical applications. The proposed technology could contribute to improve nation's leading-edge technology.

  • In this paper, we study a k-out-of-n system with single server who provides service to external customers also. The system consists of two parts:(i) a main queue consisting of customers (failed components of the k-out-of-n system) and (ii) a pool (of finite capacity M) of external customers together with an orbit for external customers who find the pool full. An external customer who finds the pool full on arrival, joins the orbit with probability ${\gamma}$ and with probability $1-{\gamma}$ leaves the system forever. An orbital customer, who finds the pool full, at an epoch of repeated attempt, returns to orbit with probability ${\delta}\;(<\;1)$ and with probability $1-{\delta}$ leaves the system forever. We compute the steady state system size probability. Several performance measures are computed, numerical illustrations are provided.
