In the design and maintenance of buildings, identifying the degree of damage in the event of a fire is an important factor in fire prevention and fire safety design. In order to predict fire damage, safety measures should be established by predicting the nature of evacuation according to fire, smoke and in-house characteristics, and the effects of the operation of fire safety facilities should also be considered, but in Korea, the risk analysis due to the operation of fire safety facilities is insufficient. Accordingly, this study uses fire statistics and sprinkler inspection data to analyze the degree of fire damage caused by the operation of sprinkler facilities in a probabilistic manner.
This research conducted an the failure analysis was performed based on the failure and operation data for Seven years using the Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety(RAMS) constructed at the operation stage after the opening of the D urban railway. therefore, the risk priority was selected for failure frequency component within the door system that showed high failure. Finally, the goal was to suggest ways to improve the door system. For this purpose, the analysis of thermal characteristics of failed components such as Door Control Unit(DCU) in the door system based on the Seven-year failure analysis data of RAMS was performed. These results were applied to the main component exchange cycle of the door unit, the mean time between failure(MTBF) and mean kilometer between failure(MKBF) values of RAMS increased by 26% in 2017-2018 when the improvement measures were taken, and the MTBF value of DCU was 300,000 hours, which was a 57% improvement in reliability. The results of this thesis identify potential enhancements in reliability and improvements in maintenance of the door system that, if implemented, would contribute to train safety and reduce instances of failure in the future.

In the design of production system, buffer capacity allocation is a major step. Through polymorphism analysis of production capacity and production capability, this paper investigates a buffer allocation optimization problem aiming at the multi-stage production line including unreliable machines, which is concerned with maximizing the system theoretical production rate and minimizing the system state entropy for a certain amount of buffers simultaneously. Stochastic process analysis is employed to establish Markov models for repairable modular machines. Considering the complex structure, an improved vector UGF (Universal Generating Function) technique and composition operators are introduced to construct the system model. Then the measures to assess the system's multi-state reliability and structural complexity are given. Based on system theoretical production rate and system state entropy, mathematical model for buffer capacity optimization is built and optimized by a specific genetic algorithm. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by an application of an engine head production line.
With the increase in the number of multinational and multicultural research projects, the need to adapt health status measures for use in other than source language has also grown rapidly. Most questionnaire were developed in English-speaking countries, but even within these countries, researchers must consider immigrant populations in studies of health, especially when their exclusion could lead to a systematic bias in studies of health care utilization or quality of life. The purpose of this study was to translate and and culturally adapt the three most used neck and spinal pain disability questionnaires - the Neck Disability Index(NDI), Neck pain and Disability Scale(NPDS), and Functional Rating Index(FRI) - into the korean language and evaluated their reliability, in addition to item response pattern, to achieve a good cross cultural adaptation. Each translated questionnaire was found to have high reliability (FRI ICC (2,1)=0.86 ($95\%$ CI: 0.75-0.92); NPDS ICC (2,1)=0.90 ($95\%$ CI: 0.83-0.95 ; NDI ICC (2,1) =0.90 ($95\%$ CI: 0.81-0.94)). The reliability of the translated versions of FRI, NPDS and NDI were excellent.
Hot Plate is the major unit that it used to remove damp of wafer surface, to strength adhesion of photoresist(PR) and to bake coated PR in FAB process of semiconductor. It is necessary to guarantee the performance of Hot Plate(HP). Therefore, in this study designed and developed the reliability system of HP to measure and estimated thermal uniformity and flatness in temperature setting amplitude $0~250^{\circ}C$. We developed the techniques that measures and analyzes thermal uniformity using infrared thermal vision, and compensates measuring error of flatness using laser displacement sensor. For measuring flatness, we specially makes the measurement stage of 3 axes which adopts the precision encoder. The allowable error of measuring technique is less than thermal uniformity, $\pm 0.1^{\circ}C$ and flatness, $\pm 1mm$. It is expected that the developed system can measure from $\Phi$210(wafer 8") to $\Phi$356(wafer 12") and also can be used in performance test of the Cool Plate and industrial heater, etc.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a computer access assessment tool for persons with physical disabilities and to evaluate reliability and validity. Methods: We developed a computerized Computer access Assessment Program (CAP) through many kinds of literature review and tools analysis for evaluation of computer access, task analysis of fundamental input devices operation and expert review. The CAP data were obtained from 105 normal university students and 16 students with physical disabilities. The test items of CAP are composed of four timed mouse tasks, four timed keyboard tasks, and a timed scanning task. Thus, the software measures user performance in skills needed for computer interaction, such as keyboard and pointer use, navigating through menus, and scanning. To determine the validity of these measurements, we compared data on CAP reports to a Compass report. Compass software allows an evaluator for assessment of an individual's computer input skills. Results: Results of this study showed that the CAP had high internal consistency, reliability of test-retest, concurrent validity, and convergent validity. Conclusion: Therefore, the CAP is appropriate for evaluation and determination of computer access skill of persons with physical disabilities. It is possible to get clear quantitative data on performance when providing computer access services if you can use the CAP data. Using this quantitative evidence, insights can be gained into the specific nature of any difficulties experienced by persons with physical disabilities and find wise solutions.
This study purposed to standardize the Korean versions of the General Health Questionnaire, especially KGHQ-20 and KGHQ-30, through the evaluation of their reliability and validity. The two KGHQs, along with several other scales that measure psychological symptoms, were administered to 916 students and 102 chronically mentally ill patients at mental health hospitals in Korea. Both of the KGHQs were found to have high reliability based on test-retest correlation coefficients, internal consistency (Chronbach's ${\alpha}$) as scales, and item-total correlations for most of the items. The two KGHQ scores were shown to have high validity based on three methods of analysis; first, both KGHQ scores had highly significant correlations with most of other measures for psychopathology, such as SCL-90, CES-D, SDS, BAI, STAI; second, there were significant differences of the two KGHQ scores between the group of mentally healthy students and the group of chronically mentally ill patients; the validity of the KGHQ-30 was also derived from high sensitivity and specificity, which helped identify the best cut-off points: 15/16 for the KGHQ-30. The cut-off point for the KGHQ-20 was determined at 12/13 based on the mean scores and standard deviations of other scales as well as of the KGHQ-20.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Penn Interactive Peer Play Scale (PIPPS) for Korean young children, with a special confirmative factor analysis. The participants were composed of 435 5-to 6-year-old children and their parents, and 42 teachers. The instruments included the 32-item exploratory PIPPS (Choi & Shin, 2008), the Preschool Behavior Questionnaire (PBQ; Park, 1992), and the PIPPS on parental reporting. The PIPPS was confirmed, and supported the following constructs resulting in the investigation of 3 factors, 'play disruption', 'play interaction', and 'play disconnection', along with 30 items similar to the PIPPS (2008). Inter-correlations between the sub-factors of PIPPS with those of criterion measures were validated by ratings from the PBQ and the parent version of the PIPPS. The reliability coefficients of the sub-factors of the PIPPS ranged from .85 to .92. In conclusion, 3 factor structure of the PIPPS was appropriate to represent the interactive peer play of Korean young children.
Service life assessments which do not include the synergy between mechanical and environmental loading are neglecting a factor that can have a significant impact on structural safety and durability assessment. The degradation of concrete structure is a result of the combined effect of environmental and mechanical factors. In order to make service life design realistic it is necessary to consider both of these factors acting simultaneously. This paper deals with the advanced modelling of concrete carbonation and chloride ingress into concrete using stochastic 1D and 2D models. Widely accepted models incorporated into the new fib Model Code 2010 are extended to include factors that reflect the coupled effects of mechanical and environmental loads on the durability and reliability of reinforced concrete structures. An example of cooling tower degradation by carbonation and an example of a bended reinforced concrete beam kept for several years in salt fog are numerically studied to show the capability of the stochastic approach. The modelled degradation measures are compared with experimental results, leading to good agreement.
Three dimensional body scan technology is being targeted for utilization in the apparel industry. The purpose of this study was to test reliability of the body scan data targeting from 20 to 24 year old men by comparing 3DM, 3D body-scanning semi-auto measurement extraction method, Scanworx, 3D body-scanning auto measurement extraction method, and traditional anthropometric method. We found significant differences in 9 out of 25 items in upper body measurements using 3DM and 16 out of 25 items using Scanworx. In the range of difference value of scan measures, it showed 1 item in the absolute value of more than 40mm between two measuring methods, 3 items in 20 up to 40mm, and less than 20mm in other items. Overall, in height items, the numerical value of traditional measure was higher and in girth, width, depth items, 3D scan measure was higher. We found out that reliability of 3D measurements taken from whole body scans was different according to scanners, scanning softwares, programs, and subjects.
