  • Security is essential to make use of application service securely in VANET environments. This paper proposes payment protocol which supports user's anonymity. The proposed protocol is designed to use a charge card as a payment method and performs pre-registration, renewal and payment phase. The user's anonymity and disclosure of charge card information is protected through the pre-registration and renewal phase, and also fast computing operation is supported by minimizing the computational load on vehicles.

  • In this paper, we presents performance analysis of a location registration protocol using cluster concept to minimize the number of location registrations caused by reduction of cell size and explosive increasement of wireless communication subscribers. We analyze the relationship between the size of cluster and the location registration rate, and finally we apply this analysis to the hexagonal cell structure for justification.

  • This paper is concerned with a routing protocol for cost-effective communications between mobile hosts on computer networks in which mobile hosts can move freely their physical positions. The proposed routing protocol consists of two protocols : one is called location registration protocol performing registration of the location information as the mobile host does move; the other one is called message transfer protocol which actually delivers a message to the destination mobile host. The detailed protocol's operational behavior and major characteristics are presented. And it is shown that our protocols are superior to previous ones, in terms of the communication cost(i.e, number of messages) required for routing a message, and are functionally improved ones.

  • Image Guided Surgery(IGS) system has been developed to provide exquisite and objective information to surgeons for surgical operation process. It is necessary that registration technique is important to match between 3D image model reconstructed from image modalities and the object operated by surgeon. Majority techniques of registration in IGS system have been used by recognizing fiducial markers placed on the object. However, this method has been criticized due to its invasive protocol inserting fiducial markers in patient's bone. Therefore, shape-based registration technique using geometric characteristics of the object has been invested to improve the limitation of IGS system. During Total Knee Replacement(TKR) operation, it is challenge to register with high accuracy by using shape-based registration because the area to acquire sample data from knee is limited. We have developed region-based 3D registration technique based on anatomical landmarks on the object and this registration algorithm was evaluated in femur model. It was found that region-based algorithm can improve the accuracy in 3D registration. We expect that this technique can efficiently improve the IGS system.

  • In this paper, we describe an IMT-2000 system architecture, a protocol stack, and basic MAP scenarios(e.g., registration, call delivery) based on the IS-41 and IS-41 and IS-751. This paper focuses on the MAP scenarios to support the IMSI which is defined for the global roaming between GSM and IS-41 Networks through the Family of System approach. This paper also deals with the design of the MAP protocol stack transported over the ATM networks and introduces the software structure of MAP in IMT-2000 MSC.

  • In this paper, we designed an embedded audio video bridging (AVB) platform based on IEEE 802.1BA for real-time multimedia transmission in smart-car, smart-home, smart-theater, and then evaluated a performance of the implemented platform by analysis of IEEE 802.1AS (time synchronization protocol) and IEEE 802.1Qat (stream reservation protocol). Especially, the AVB Layer-2 protocol of MRP(Multiple Registration Protocol), MMAP(Multicast Address Acquisition Protocol), IEEE 1722, 1722.1 etc. was and implemented by linux based operating system. It is shown by interoperability tests with commercial products that the implemented platform transmits real-time multichannel AV data over AVB networks for Multichannel Multimedia Transmission.

  • As Internet access through mobile devices is increasing, Mobile IP is the protocol to provide the mobility of a host on the existing IP. It is important to provide secure authentication when mobile node register with home agent through the foreign agent each time it moves. In this paper, we propose the authentication mechanism using a regional registration. The proposed authentication mechanism reduce frequent home registration in regional movement. The simulation results show that the proposed authentication reduces the total registration time and is more efficient than conventional registration mechanism.

가상랜 환경에서 동작하는 스위치에서 가상랜 정보를 주고받기 위하여 사용하는 프로토콜이 GARP/ GVRP(Generic Attribute Registration Protocol/GARP VALN Registration Protocol)이다.

  • Image Guided Surgery (IGS) system which has variously tried in medical engineering fields is able to give a surgeon objective information of operation process like decision making and surgical planning. This information is displayed through 3D images which are acquired from image modalities like CT and MRI for pre-operation. The technique of image registration is necessary to construct IGS system. Image registration means that 3D model and the object operated by a surgeon are matched on the common frame. Major techniques of registration in IGS system have been used by recognizing fiducial markers placed on the object. However, this method has been criticized due to additional trauma, its invasive protocol inserting fiducial markers in patient's bone and generating noise data when 2D slice images are acquired by image modality because many markers are made of metal. Therefore, this paper developed shape-based registration technique to improve the limitation of fiducial marker based IGS system. Iterative Closest Points (ICP) algorithm was used to match corresponding points and quaternion based rotation and translation transformation using closed form solution applied to find the optimized cost function of transformation. we assumed that this algorithm were used in Total Knee replacement (TKR) operation. Accordingly, we have developed region-based 3D registration technique based on anatomical landmarks and this registration algorithm was evaluated in a femur model. It was found that region-based algorithm can improve the accuracy in 3D registration.

  • For effective IP based service implementation on the wireless network environments, wireless network including the ITS network have to support QoS guaranteed protocol such as a RSVP. RSVP is a resource reservation protocol for Internet environment, and its scalability makes easy to implement RSVP over the various IP transport technologies. But for the If based ITS wireless network environment, RSVP is not suitable, since by its path setup procedure characteristic. In the wireless access network for ITS service, when a mobile node moves to other domain it must perform registration procedure. But the registration procedure is time consuming steps, so if a RSVP session was already established in the previous domain, the RSYP session may be disconnected and the time to re establish a new RSVP session is long enough to cause serious packet loss. In this paper, we propose a pre-path reservation mechanism for applying the RSVP in wireless access networks for ITS. In the pre-path reservation mechanism, the resource reservation procedure occurred during a mobile node's handoff time. An access point in wireless access network performs this procedure when the mobile node attempts handoff The access point executes pre-path reservation procedure as a proxy, since the mobile node does not have IP address until the address allocation procedure is finished in a new domain.
