  • Motion compensation by affine transform has been proposed as a solution to the artifact problems in very low bit rate video coding and a HMA(Hexagoanl Matching Algorithm) has been proposed for refine motions estimation. When dividing images with an affine transform, as image objects do not necessarily conform to triangle patterns. In this paper we propose a method that first divides an image into triangular patches according to its edge information and then further divides the image into more detailed triangular patches where more complicated edge information occurs. We image propose a PMA(Polygona Matching Algorithm) for refine motion estimation because of the different triangle pattern types of neighboring blocks and its performance is compared with H.263.

  • Offshore software development (OSD) is international business collaboration. OSD projects often encounter intercultural and inter-linguistic problems disturbing the projects. Business documents are formal media of information and knowledge for OSD. While OSD documents should convey common understanding of the OSD products, the documents may contain unsuitable expressions which draw misunderstanding of the required products and offensive issues for the collaboration. Intercultural and inter-linguistic differences cause mistakes and inappropriate expressions. OSD from Japan to China is the largest in Asia, and Japanese language is often used in OSD documents. Large similarity is found between Japanese and Chinese in their languages, while many differences exist even for the same word. The similarity induces to write unsuitable expressions for both sides of OSD. To introduce risks for OSD projects caused by unsuitable or inappropriate expressions in OSD documents, we propose to apply a proofreading system of Japanese documents for OSD. Japanese consignor uses the system to refine OSD documents written by Japanese engineers for Chinese readers, and Chinese consignee uses it to refine Japanese documents written by Chinese Engineers as derivatives of OSD projects. Effectiveness of applying the proofreading system is discussed for actual projects.

  • Reverse engineering of reliefs aims to turn an existing relief superimposed on an underlying surface into a geometric model which may be applied to a different base surface. Steps in this process include segmenting the relief from the background, and describing it as an offset height field relative to the underlying surface. We have previously considered relief segmentation using a geometric snake. Here, we show how to use this initial segmentation to estimate the background surface lying under the relief, which can be used (i) to refine the segmentation and (ii) to express the relief as an offset field. Our approach fits a B-spline surface patch to the measured background data surrounding the relief, while tension terms ensure this background surface smoothly continues underneath the relief where there are no measured background data points to fit. After making an initial estimate of relief offset height everywhere within the patch, we use a support vector machine to refine the segmentation. Tests demonstrate that this approach can accurately model the background surface where it underlies the relief, providing more accurate segmentation, as well as relief height field estimation. In particular, this approach provides significant improvements for relief concavities with narrow mouths and can segment reliefs with small internal holes.

  • Heat Shock 70kDa Protein 1-Like(HSPA1L)는 Heat-shock protein70(HSP70) family에 속하는 chaperone protein으로 polypeptide folding, assembly, protein degradation 등 다양한 biological processes에 관여하고 있다.

  • Recent semantic segmentation frameworks usually combine low-level and high-level context information to achieve improved performance. In addition, postlevel context information is also considered. In this study, we present a Context ReFinement Network (CRFNet) and its training method to improve the semantic predictions of segmentation models of the encoder-decoder structure. Our study is based on postprocessing, which directly considers the relationship between spatially neighboring pixels of a label map, such as Markov and conditional random fields. CRFNet comprises two modules: a refiner and a combiner that, respectively, refine the context information from the output features of the conventional semantic segmentation network model and combine the refined features with the intermediate features from the decoding process of the segmentation model to produce the final output. To train CRFNet to refine the semantic predictions more accurately, we proposed a sequential training scheme. Using various backbone networks (ENet, ERFNet, and HyperSeg), we extensively evaluated our model on three large-scale, real-world datasets to demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach.

  • In this paper, using an efficient change of variables we refine the Hyers-Ulam stability of the alternative Jensen functional equations of J. M. Rassias and M. J. Rassias and obtain much better bounds and remove some unnecessary conditions imposed in the previous result. Also, viewing the fundamentals of what our method works, we establish an abstract version of the result and consider the functional equations defined in restricted domains of a group and prove their stabilities.

  • The object boundary of an image plays an important role for image interpretation. In this paper, we introduce a concept of hierarchical mesh-based image segmentation for finding object boundaries. In each hierarchical layer, we employ neighborhood searching and boundary tracking methods to refine the initial boundary estimate. We also apply a local region growing method to define closed contours. Experimental results indicate that reliable segmentation of objects can be accomplished by the pro-posed tow complexity technique.
