어레이 형상 추정을 위한 근거리 고유벡터 기법 (Nearfield Eigenvector Method for Array Shape Estimation)

  • 본 논문에서는 참조 신호에 대한 근거리 신호 모델링 기반의 어레이 형상 추정 기법인 근거리 고유벡터 기법을 제안한다. 수중 음원의 방향을 탐지하기 위한 기법들은 일반적으로 참조 신호를 평면파로 가정하고 있다. 그러나 참조 신호가 근거리에 존재하는 경우 평면파 가정으로는 어레이 형상 추정이 불가능하다. 본 논문에서는 참조 신호가 근거리에 존재하는 경우를 위하여 근거리 신호를 모델링하고 이를 기반으로 근거리 고유벡터 기법을 제안하였다. 또한 모의실험을 통해 제안된 기법이 참조 신호의 거리에 관계없이 우수한 형상 추정 성능을 보임을 확인하였다.

  • In this paper, we have evaluated the methods to generate the reference signal for the diagnosis of multi-channel signals. The channel signal integrity can be known by the difference between the reference signal and each channel value. The generation method of reference signal is important in the diagnosis of multi-channel measurement system. The continuous weighting average method rejects the abnormal signal using weighting method and makes the reference signal using sumation of all channel values. This gives the simple and reasonable reference signal. The principle component analysis, one of the multivariate analysis methods, and the neural network method give the reliable reference signal by using signal models, and learning algorithm. Two methods can make the reliable reference if all signals are normal, but any signal having the drift have an effect on the reference.

FPGA Based PWM Generator for Three-phase Multilevel Inverter

  • This paper deals with the implementation on a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) of PWM switching patterns for a voltage multilevel inverter. The reference data in main microcontroller is transmitted to the FPGA through 16 general purpose I/O ports. Herein, three-phase reference voltage signals are addressed by the last 2-bit (bit 15-14) and their data are assigned in remaining 14-bit, respectively. The carrier signals are created by 16-bit counter in up-down counting mode inside FPGA according to desirable topology. Each reference signal is compared with all carrier signals to generate corresponding PWM switching patterns for control of the multilevel inverter. Useful advantages of this scheme are easy implementation, simple software control and flexibility in adaptation to produce many PWM signals. Some simulations and experiments are carried out to validate the proposed method.

DS/SS 시스템을 위한 개선된 결정궤환 구조를 가지는 협대역 간섭신호 제거 (NBI Rejection Techniques using Improved Decision Feedback for DS/SS Systems)

  • In this paper, we propsoed the two methods to improve the conventional decision feedback interference canceller in DS/SS communication systems. The data bit is obtained by correlating the PN sequence with the received signals to the present time k, and thus the errors in the reference signal can be reduced by newly deciding all the reference signals with the resultant data bit. Additionally the cancelled signals are computed with less weight for initial reference signals of low processing gain, and highly weighted as the processing gain goes up. the resulting interference canceller outperforms the existing ones. By simulation, we found the proposed algorithm has "2-3 dB" performance gain at BER 10$^{-3}$ compared to the conventional descision feedback algorithm.algorithm.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel D-ATR (Differential-Average Transmitted Reference) scheme for UWB (Ultra Wide Band) based on impulse radio. The proposed scheme utilizing differential coding at transceiver, does not cause half loss of data rate unlike the conventional TR (Transmitted Reference) and ATR (Average TR) systems which transmit additional reference signals. In addition, the proposed scheme may provide improved BER (Bit Error Rate) performance by averaging the received reference signals like the conventional ATR. The proposed D-ATR receiver produces the averaged reference template by considering both the detected data bit and the differential coding rule.

  • The reference model of an MRC (model reference control) provides the desired trajectory a plant should follow and thus the design of a reference model has a significant effect on control performance. In most control systems control input to a plant has some bounds and it is preferable to make use of as large control inputs as possible within the range of no saturation. In this paper a new approach of selecting the reference model is proposed for bounded control inputs. Design variables of the reference model are determined in such a way that maximizes the performance index within the range of no saturation. Moreover this variable reference model is regularly updated during control. This scheme is verified by application to the servo motor position control system in various simulations. The responses of the MRC with a variable reference model show better tracking performance than that with a fixed reference mode. Moreover by adjusting the update interval of the reference model the control performance can be further improved.

협대역 초음파 신호를 이용한 시간 영역에서의 감쇠 지수 예측 (Time-domain Estimation Algorithm for Ultrasonic Attenuation using Narrow-filtered Signals)

  • The VSA(Video Signal Analysis) method is the time-domain approach for estimating ultrasonic attenuation which utilizes the envelop signals from backscattered rf signals. The echogenicity of backscattered ultrasonic signals, however, from deeper depths are distorted when the broadband transmit pulse is used and it degrades the estimation accuracy of attenuation coefficients. We propose the modified VSA method using adaptive bandpass filters according to the centroid shift of echo signals as a pulse propagates. The technique of dual-reference diffraction compensation is also proposed to minimize the estimation errors because the difference of attenuation properties between the reference and sample aggravates the estimation accuracy when the differences are accumulated in deeper depth. The proposed techniques minimize the distortion of relative echogenicity and maximize the signal-to-noise ratio at the given depth. Simulation results for numerical tissue-mimicking phantoms show that the Rectangular-shaped filter with the appropriate center frequency exhibits the best estimation performance and the technique of the dual-reference diffraction compensation dramatically improves accuracy for the region after the beam focus.

  • The main drawback of filtered-X LMS(FXLMS) algorithm for the ANC of broadband noises is its low convergence speed when the filtered reference signals are strongly correlated, producing a large eigenvalue spread in correlation matrix. This correlation can be caused either by autocorrelation of the signals of the reference sensors, or by coupling between the error path which introduces intercorrelation in the filtered reference signals. In this paper, we introduce a transform domain FXLMS(TD-FXLMS) algorithm that has a high convergence speed by orthogonal transform's decorrelation properties.

On-line Frequency Estimation Based on Cascade Adaptive Notch Filter and Application to Active Noise Control

  • For ANC systems applied to aircrafts or passenger ships, engines from which reference signals are usually measured are located so far from seats where main part of controllers are placed. It can make feedforward ANC scheme difficult to implement or very costly. Feedback ANC algorithms which do not require reference signals and use error signals alone to update the filter, are usually sensitive to measurement noise ' and impulse noise. In this paper, reference signal needed for the feedforward control is not measured directly but generated with the estimated frequencies. Cascade adaptive notch filter (ANF), which has the low computational burden, is used to implement ANC system in real time. Several ANFs of order 2 are connected in series to estimate multiple sinusoids. Computer simulations and experiments in the laboratory for verifying efficacy of the proposed algorithm are carried out.

병렬프로세서를 활용한 레이더 신호의 식별 (An Identification Method of Radar Signals using Parallel Processor)

  • 전자전지원 시스템(Electronic Warfare Support System)은 레이더 신호의 식별을 위해 수집한 신호의 주파수, 펄스폭, 펄스반복주기(PRI, Pulse Repetition Interval)등의 정보를 분석한 후 기존의 알려진 레이더 정보와 비교한다. 기존의 연구는 두 가지 단점이 있다. 첫 번째 단점은 기존의 알려진 레이더 정보를 마지막 비교단계에서만 비교한다는 점이다. 두 번째 단점은 PRI를 계산하기 위해 많은 연산이 필요하다는 점이다. 본 논문에서는 사전에 알려진 레이더 정보를 초기단계에서 활용하여 PRI를 계산하지 않고 수집된 신호에 미리 알고 있는 레이더 신호의 존재 여부를 식별하는 방법을 제안한다.
