  • Existing CAD systems do not provide advanced functions for automatic checking design and drafting errors in mechanical drawings. If the knowledge of checking in mechanical ddrsfting can be implemented into computers, CAD systems could automatically check for design and drafting errors. This paper describes a method for systematic checking of dimension errors. such as deficiency and/or redundancy of dimension input-errors in dimension figures and symbols, etc. The logic for finding dimensional errors is written by using a proccedural language. A geometric model and a topological-graph model are used in this method. Checking for deficiency and redundancy of dimensions is based upon graph Theory.

  • Mostof existing CAD systems do not provide the advanced function for systematic checking of design and drafting errors in mechanical drawings. We have reported a computer aided drawing check system to single plane projection drawings made by a CAD system. This paper describes a checking method of dimensioning errors in mechanical drawings. The checking items are deficiency and redundancy of dimensions, input-errors in dimension figures and symbols, etc. Checking for deficiency and redundancy of global dimensions has been performed applying Graph Theory. • Software dimension reduction identifies the commonality of elements and extracts important feature elements. So it reduces complexity by simplify and solves multi-collinearity problems. And it reduces redundancy by performing redundancy and noise detection. In this study, we proposed defect severity-based dimension reduction model. Proposed model is applied defect severity-based NASA dataset. And it is verified the number of dimensions in the column that affect the severity of the defect. Then it is compares and analyzes the dimensions of the data before and after reduction. In this study experiment result, the number of dimensions of PC4's dataset is 2 to 3. It was possible to reduce the dimension.

  • This paper proposes a method for the global optimization of redundancy over the whole task period for a kinematically redundant robot. The necessary conditions based on the calculus of variations for an integral type cost criterion result in a second-order differential equation. For a cyclic task, the periodic boundary conditions due to conservativity requirements are discussed. We refine the two-point boundary value problem to an initial value adjustment problem and suggest a numerical search method for providing the conservative global optimal solution using the gradient projection method. Since the initial joint velocity is parameterized with the number of the redundancy, we only search the parameter value in the space of as many dimensions as the number of degrees of redundancy. We show through numerical examples that multiple nonhomotopic extremal solutions and the generality of the proposed method by considering the dynamics of a robot.

  • This paper proposes an optimal redundancy resolution of a kinematically redundant manipulator while considering homotopy classes. The necessary condition derived by minimizing an integral cost criterion results in a second-order differential equation. Also boundary conditions as well as the necessary condition are required to uniquely specify the solution. In the case of a cyclic task, we reformulate the periodic boundary value problem as a two point boundary value problem to find an initial joint velocity as many dimensions as the degrees of redundancy for given initial configuration. Initial conditions which provide desirable solutions are obtained by using the basis of the null projection operator. Finally, we show that the method can be used as a topological lifting method of nonhomotopic extremal solutions and also show the optimal solution with considering the manipulator dynamics.

  • We discuss how to reduce the number of inverse matrix and its dimensions requested in MLLR framework for speaker adaptation. To find a smaller set of variables with less redundancy, we employ PCA(principal component analysis) and ICA(independent component analysis) that would give as good a representation as possible. The amount of additional computation when PCA or ICA is applied is as small as it can be disregarded. The dimension of HMM parameters is reduced to about 1/3 ~ 2/7 dimensions of SI(speaker independent) model parameter with which speech recognition system represents word recognition rate as much as ordinary MLLR framework. If dimension of SI model parameter is n, the amount of computation of inverse matrix in MLLR is proportioned to O($n^4$). So, compared with ordinary MLLR, the amount of total computation requested in speaker adaptation is reduced to about 1/80~1/150.

  • CAD drawings contain drawing errors similar to manually produced drawings. This paper is concerned with a computer-aided drawing check system for the drawing errors. The problem treated in this paper is the checking of dimension errors, deficiency and redundancy of dimension lines in the mechanical drawings made by a CAD system. Graph theory is used for the checking of the deficient and redundant dimensions. The feasibility of this system is confirmed for the checking items.
