A Study on The Vibration Reduction of 2-D Ring Model of Vehicle Compartment (2차원 차실 링모델의 진동저감에 관한 연구)

  • Car body resonance often generates severe vibrational and noise problems in vehicle compartment. In this study, vibrational characteristics of 2-D vehicle compartment model is investigated and structural modification is carried out by numerical simulation to shift natural frequencies and to reduce stresses in resonance. To this end, ring models of the compartment are manufactured and analysed by FEA. The results are verified to be in good agreement with those of experimental modal testing. And the results of this study offer efficient strucural modification technique for vibration reduction of real cars.

  • Since 1989, when the first European noise regulation against construction equipments came into force, much investigation had been devoted to reduce the noise and had produced the remarkable improvement in noise reduction technology. EU Directive 2000/14/EC Stage 2, more stringent noise regulation, is going to be implemented from Jan. 2006. The technology trends and examples for noise reduction in typical construction equipment R&D is described briefly.

  • The automotive industry is currently trying to develop light- weight vehicle for both improvement of fuel efficiency and reduction of environmental pollution. For the reduction of vehicle weight, the substitution of aluminum for steel has been increased. However, the change of material causes a significant problem with respect to the method of joining. In this paper, strength of several aluminum joining methods such as spot welding, metal insert gas(MIG) welding, adhesive bonding was evaluated by performing lap test.

  • This paper considers a reliability problem as a special type of flow problem and presents an algorithm to evaluate the exact 2-terminal reliability of networks by using a backtracking technique. It employs a polygon-to-chain reduction in addition to series and parallel reduction techniques to reduce execution time. In comparisons, it presents a much better performance than other algorithms known to us. We also propose a methodology to apply the algorithm for approximation of the system reliability.

  • In this article, the performances of acoustic enclosure with double resilient mount system which was designed by ADD to reduce the radiated noise by main noise source of ships, was tested and evaluated. From test results, it was verified that the acoustic performances of acoustic enclosure satisfied the requirements; vibration isolation level at 1st stage mount system of 15 ㏈ and airborne noise reduction level of 20 ㏈ in broad band.

  • Forged aluminum lower arm has been developed to provide weight reduction of suspension parts. It was utilized FEM analysis in design of parts. Prototype parts were producted to two shape & different forging condition. Difference of forging condition was manufacturing process of stock, forging press, forging die, heat treatment condition. As a result, weight reduction of 44%, 38% was achived. Strength and fatigue endurance of forged aluminum lower arm was excellent.

  • The effect of intermediate annealing on the texture evolution in I.f steel was investigated by using X-ray texture measurement. After The sample was cold rolled to 80% reduction intermediate annealing was introduced to preform ${\gamma}$-fiber orientation grains in deformed matrix. The annealing time was varied between 30 and 3600 sec, These samples were cold rolled to 90% reduction and full annealed. By intermediate annealing final full annealed samples had very homogeneous ${\gamma}$-fiber orientation resulting in good deep drawability.

  • This article proposes the analytical and experimental approaches for the reduction of vibration generated in the gear box of an NC machine. The lateral critical speed of main spindle and torsional natural frequencies were analyzed and the impact testing of gear box was performed. These results were compared with the forced operating speeds, The vibration was much diminished by redesign of gear module and reinforcement of box structure.
