One of the most important issues for projecting future water resources and establishing climate change adaptation strategies is 'uncertainty'. In Korea, climate change research results were very heterogeneous even in a same basin, but there have been few climate change studies dealt with the uncertainty reduction. This is because emission scenarios, GCMs, downscaling, and rainfall-runoff models that were used in the previous studies were almost all different. In this research, fifty one GCM scenarios based A and B emission scenarios were downloaded and then compared with the observed values for a period from January 2001 to December 2008. The downloaded GCM scenarios in general simulated well the observed but did not simulated well the observed precipitation especially for the flood season in Korea. The accuracy of each GCM scenario was measured with the model efficiency, PDF-based, and Relative Entropy methodology. Among the selected GCM scenarios with three methodologies, the four common GCM scenarios(CGCM2.3.2(MRI-M, B1), MIROC3.2medress(NIES, B1), CGCM2.3.2(MRI-M, A2), CGCM2.3.2(MRI-M, A1B) were finally selected. Results of the four selected GCMs were heterogeneity and projected increases of precipitation for the Korean Peninsula by from 27.36% to 12.49%, respectively. It seems very risky to rely a water planning or a management policy on use of a single climate change scenario and from this research results. Therefore, the four selected GCM scenarios proposed quantitatively were considered firstly for the water supply in the dry season and the drought management strategy in the Korean Peninsula for the future.

This study is intended to look into the effects of SCM(supply chain management) competency and process improvement on operational performance in small and venture companies. To achieve this, a survey was empirically carried out to 179 small and venture manufacturing companies. The findings showed that the SCM competency had a significant effect on the process improvement and operational performance in small and venture companies, adopting all hypotheses. And the process improvement had a significant mediating effect on the relationship between SCM competency and operational performance in small and venture companies, adopting hypothesis 4. As for the findings, strategic alliance, technology development, competency concentration as SCM competencies and starting preparation, detailed planning, implementation management as process improvements were factors that have positive effects on quality performance, cost reduction and profit increase as operational performances in small and venture companies. In other words, the better process and performance by the maximized SCM competencies require selective input strategies for strategic alliance, technology development and competency concentration in small and venture companies. And for its early application and settlement, the starting preparation and detailed planning of business process within small and venture companies need to be jointly put in action under clear company-wide goal management. Consequently, the expected performance can be maximized when strict management and implementation lead to these attributes.

Accurately predicting cancer prognosis to provide appropriate treatment strategies for patients is one of the critical challenges in bioinformatics. Many researches have suggested machine learning models to predict patients' outcomes based on their gene expression data. Gene expression data is high-dimensional numerical data containing about 17,000 genes, so traditional researches used feature selection or dimensionality reduction approaches to elevate the performance of prognostic prediction models. These approaches, however, have an issue of making it difficult for the predictive models to grasp any biological interaction between the selected genes because feature selection and model training stages are performed independently. In this paper, we propose a novel two-dimensional image formatting approach for gene expression data to achieve feature selection and prognostic prediction effectively. Node2Vec is exploited to integrate biological interaction network and gene expression data and a convolutional neural network learns the integrated two-dimensional gene expression image data and predicts cancer prognosis. We evaluated our proposed model through double cross-validation and confirmed superior prognostic prediction accuracy to traditional machine learning models based on raw gene expression data. As our proposed approach is able to improve prediction models without loss of information caused by feature selection steps, we expect this will contribute to development of personalized medicine.
This study was conducted to identify the subjective happiness and self-esteem of nursing students and how these variables affect clinical practice stress. Participants consisted of 199 nursing students who were in the third and fourth years who had experienced clinical practice at two nursing universities located in Gyeongnam, and agreed to the survey. Data were collected using questionnaires from June 15 to August 29, 2020. Collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 statistics program with descriptive statistics, an independent t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, and multiple regression. The mean score for subjective happiness was 4.87 (out of 7), the mean for self-esteem was 3.84 (out of 5), and clinical practice stress was 2.77 (out of 5). The significant predictors of the clinical practice stress were gender, major satisfaction and self-esteem, and the explanatory power of variance was 14.1%. Therefore, we need differentiated clinical practice stress reduction programs according to gender and various strategies that can enhance major satisfaction in order to reduce the clinical practice stress of nursing students.
In this study, the educational effect was investigated by providing a teaching program so that pre-service chemistry teachers could apply model ignorance education to teacher training practice. The teaching program was constructed in consideration of the sensemaking concept proposed in the study of Odden & Russ and the process of teacher sensemaking proposed by Asli et al. The subjects of this study were 23 pre-service teachers in the 4th year of chemistry education department at a teacher training university in the central region of Korea. In order to form a sensemaking for the model's ignorance education, the teaching program consisted of four stages; the initial idea generation stage, cognition of model's ignorance stage in a inconsistent situation, the lesson strategy construction stage for model ignorance education, and lesson plan & practice stage during teacher training practice. In the first stage of this program, pre-service teachers' initial ideas about the Arrhenius model and Bronsted-Lowry model of acid-base reaction, and the electron transfer model of the oxidation-reduction reaction were investigated. In the second stage, inconsistant situation that cannot be explained by the knowledge of model was presented to recognize the ignorance of the model. The third stage was to develop the teaching ability of model's ignorance through textbook analysis and lesson strategy composition activities. As a final stage, during the teacher training practice, the pre-service teachers were asked to plan and practice the implementation of the model's ignorance education. Through the teaching program to form a sensemaking for ignorance education of the models, pre-service teachers had come to recognize the ignorance of the model, acquired ability to organize and execute lesson strategies reflecting model ignorance, and acquired recognition of the educational value and necessity of teaching the ignorance of models.

Splicing factor B subunit 4 (SF3B4), a component of the U2-pre-mRNA spliceosomal complex, contributes to tumorigenesis in several types of tumors. However, the oncogenic potential of SF3B4 in lung cancer has not yet been determined. The in vivo expression profiles of SF3B4 in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) from publicly available data revealed a significant increase in SF3B4 expression in tumor tissues compared to that in normal tissues. The impact of SF3B4 deletion on the growth of NSCLC cells was determined using a siRNA strategy in A549 lung adenocarcinoma cells. SF3B4 silencing resulted in marked retardation of the A549 cell proliferation, accompanied by the accumulation of cells at the G0/G1 phase and increased expression of p27, p21, and p53. Double knockdown of SF3B4 and p53 resulted in the restoration of p21 expression and partial recovery of cell proliferation, indicating that the p53/p21 axis is involved, at least in part, in the SF3B4-mediated regulation of A549 cell proliferation. We also provided ubiquitination factor E4B (UBE4B) is essential for p53 accumulation after SF3B4 depletion based on followings. First, co-immunoprecipitation showed that SF3B4 interacts with UBE4B. Furthermore, UBE4B levels were decreased by SF3B4 depletion. UBE4B depletion, in turn, reproduced the outcome of SF3B4 depletion, including reduction of polyubiquitinated p53 levels, subsequent induction of p53/p21 and p27, and proliferation retardation. Collectively, our findings indicate the important role of SF3B4 in the regulation of A549 cell proliferation through the UBE4B/p53/p21 axis and p27, implicating the therapeutic strategies for NSCLC targeting SF3B4 and UBE4B.
A study to estimate the appropriate size for the quota of civil servants during the period of change of government is required. Therefore, in this study, we would like to introduce a study that uses DEA to estimate the appropriate size of public officials. The department of a public institution is DMU, and the number of employees in each department is applied as an input variable, and the number of electronic approval production documents and the number of electronic approval expenditures are applied as output variables. MaxDEA 8 was used as an analysis program for this purpose. As a result of the analysis, when the efficiency level was 1.00 (100%), 3 out of 14 departments showed the optimal level by satisfying the efficiency, and 10 of the remaining departments scored 0.50 (50%) with a score of 0.50 (50%), confirmed to be relatively inefficient. In other words, it was confirmed that most departments had inefficient surplus staff. As an additional analysis, we calculated the number of possible staff reductions using the efficiency level. Using this, it is expected that the field of manpower reduction can be discovered in advance through an analysis of manpower efficiency by department, and based on this, it can be used to relocate manpower by department according to future response strategies.
This study examined the latest EU regulatory strengthening trends for refrigerant gases with very large global warming potential (GWP) and derived implications for carbon neutrality. The European Commission recently unveiled an amendment that significantly strengthens the F-gas Regulation. This study presented the meaning of the main contents related to refrigerants in the amendment by comparing them with the current regulations. The main contents of the amendment include drastically reducing the maximum amount of HFCs that can be placed on the market, strengthening regulations related to HFCs allocation, adding products and equipment that use high GWP refrigerants, adding regulated F-gas and updating the GWP of existing gases, and other stricter regulatory designs. This movement of the EU will affect the policy stance of advanced countries such as the United States and Japan, and Korea's policy will also be further strengthened. Therefore, it will be inevitable for related industries to change to next-generation refrigerant gas. Meanwhile, this study also analyzed the latest policy trends related to per- and polyfluoralkyl substances (PFAS) regulation, which were not noted in previsou studies on refrigerants and F-gas. If PFAS's registration of REACH restricted substances, which are being promoted by five European countries, is made, it will have a very big impact on the industry regarding refrigerant gas. In addition, it will be inevitable to thoroughly review each country's greenhouse gas reduction strategies related to F-gas materials, including refrigerants.
The need for miniaturization, high efficiency, and green energy resources as an energy storage device through the development of various electronic device has emerged. Accordingly, nanomaterials with excellent electrochemical properties, such as graphene and graphene hybrids, are attracting attention as promising materials. In particular, in the electric vehicle industry, cost reduction of secondary batteries is a key factor that can determine the spread of related industries, and it is most important to analyze R&D trends for battery material technology and respond to future technological development directions. Therefore, in this study, we tried to suggest a direction for R&D activities in the future by analyzing patent trends for graphene anode material technology for secondary batteries and deriving implications. As a result, in the case of anode material technology, the proportion of foreigners in the US and European patent markets was higher than in the Korean and Japanese patent markets, which means that the US and European marketability is high. In addition, Japanese applicants are filing high-level applications not only in the Japanese patent market but also in other countries suggests that Japan is leading the technology in this field. Lastly, the proportion of research institutes in the patent market of Korea and the US remains high compared to that of Japan and Europe, indicating that the commercialization of technology is still slow in those countries. Therefore research institutes and companies in Korea will have to establish their own strategies for developing and securing materials using the results of patent trends in major countries and major companies analyzed in this study.

As the installation of solar panel accelerates, so does the number of solar panels reaching their end-of-life (EOL). However, the EOL solar panels is becoming a concern, as they contain potentially hazardous materials and are not easily recycled. Coping strategies such as effective collection, disposal, and recycling methods will be important to manage the growing number of EOL solar panels in the coming years. Therefore, many studies have focused on the development of EOL solar panel recycling technology. One recycling technology for EOL solar panels applicable to the construction field is the application of extracted tempered glass from EOL solar panels as construction materials. This study summarized the EOL solar panel disassembly technology and evaluated the mechanical properties of mortar using extracted tempered glass as fine aggregate. The results showed that when tempered glass was used as a fine aggregate in mortar, the compressive strength, flexural strength, and macro pores in the 1-3 ㎛ with 200-300 ㎛ range were affected, regardless of the disassembly technology of EOL solar panels. Especially, we found that the mechanical performance of mortar using chemically treated tempered glass was noticeably decreased due to changes in the chemical composition of the extracted tempered glass resulting from the removal of K2O and CuO due to chemical reactions. Meanwhile, it was found that when fly ash was used as a binder, the reduction of mechanical performance could be alleviated.
