Analysis of Structures for Improving Pedestrian Wind Environment in Urban Areas (도시지역의 보행자 풍환경 개선을 위한 구조물 분석)

  • With taller buildings and larger typhoons, the impact of building winds is growing. During the 11th Typhoon Hinnamno in 2022, the building wind in Busan L City exceeded 60m/s, reaching the highest speed ever. Although many studies have been conducted on reducing the wind load of buildings, which is one of the problem factors caused by strong wind speed, there is a lack of research on wind speed reducing sculptures that can directly control strong wind speed. In this paper, several types of wind speed reduction sculptures were proposed to solve these problems, and the wind speed reduction capability of the proposed sculptures was analyzed through computational fluid dynamics (CFD). These results can contribute to suggesting effective design methods for improving the urban environment and reducing pedestrian stress.

  • The textiles supply rolling equipment is a part of inspection machine which inspect finished textiles and it check up textiles through rolling hydraulic equipment. This study suggests a method to select the capacity and initial gas pressure of accumulator to control reducing speed of the hydraulic motor to a desired degree. An accumulator in hydraulic systems is hydraulic machinery which stores kinetic energy of inertia body during braking. A series of computer simulations were done for the brake action and the selection method was based upon a trial and error approach. The results of the simulation work were compared with those of experiments and these results show that the proposed method can be applied effectively to control reducing speed of the hydraulic motor when braking action in textiles rolling system.

  • Applying a periodic load torque to an AC motor generates a ripple, which is synchronized to the frequency of the periodic load torque, at the speed of the motor. Consequently, numerous studies have focused on reducing the speed ripple caused by the load torque. However, it is difficult to reduce the speed ripple when there is a time delay in acquiring speed information, such as that from a sensorless control. Therefore, we propose a speed control method for reducing speed ripples caused by a periodic load torque when there is a time delay in acquiring the speed information. The proposed method is verified by conducting simulations using the Simulink program from MATLAB, and by applying the method to an actual motor in which speed ripples occur due to a periodic load torque that is synchronized with the speed of the motor.

  • In this study, an adapted Turbo Coding Algorithm for reducing communication error of a fire detection system for marine vessels, especially image transmission via power lone. Because it is necessary that this system communicate larger and faster than previous method, this study carried out enhancement a decoding speed by adaptation CRC with Turbo Code Algorithm, improvement of metric method, and reduction of decoding delay by using of Center-to-Top method. And the results are as follows: (1) Confirmed that a Turbo Code is so useful methods for reducing communication error in lots of noise environments. (2)Proposed technology in this study speed increasing method of Turbo Coding Algorithm proves 2 times faster than normal Turbo Code and communication error reducing as well in the board made by VHDL software & chips ALTERA company.

  • This paper investigates a RBF equalizer (RBFE) reducing a center Estimating Speed. One of method for RBF center estimation is using k-means clustering. The performance of RBFE is depends on the estimation ability of the RBF center. We Propose a RBF Equalizer using modified k-means clustering algorithm (MKMC) to speed up channel estimation and to reduce complexity of calculation. Computer simulations are included to illustrate the analytical results. It is shown that a discussed method improves about 1 dB via less training data.

Properties of Bleeding Reduction of Concrete Using AE Water Reducing Agent for Reduction of Bleeding (블리딩저감용 AE감수제를 사용한 콘크리트의 블리딩 저감 특성)

  • This study is intended to investigate the fundamental properties of concrete which AE water reducing agent for reduction of bleeding is used, and the properties of bleeding reduction. According to the results, when the adding ratio of AE water reducing agent for reduction of bleeding increases, a range of normal fluidity and aimed air content arc satisfied, setting time is faster than that of normal AE water reducing agent. And bleeding amount decreases, bleeding speed is highest between 60 and 90 min, and sinking depth increases drastically in 60 min. When, AE water reducing agent for reduction of bleeding is added, compressive strength shows a slight variation by air content, but there is not a large influence by addition of AE water reducing agent for reduction of bleeding. Synthetically, it proves that AE water reducing agent for reduction of bleeding satisfies aimed air content in the range of normal slump and can reduce only bleeding without quality variation of compressive strength.

  • There has been many activity to increase accuracy in machining center by reducing tracking error. The tracking error can cause bad effect in high speed rigid tapping in which syncronization servo motor with spindle is relatively important. To reduce tracking error, feed forward control has been used, but no method is provided knowing motor dynamics, force variation, etc. In this paper, we observe that, despite of tracking error of relevant axis, high speed tapping could be possible by reducing contour error of axis to be syncronized. We present the method to increase accuracy in high speed tapping to minimize contour error by automatically fitting gains of servo and spindle.

  • A wide metropolitan railway and a metropolitan railway in metropolitan area are transportation systems to cope with possible large demand and are under construction continually. A wide metropolitan railway and a metropolitan railway in metropolitan area are running with low speed because it is difficult to improve train speed according to short distances between stations and topography. There is a few study on improving commercial speed on the existing wide metropolitan railway and metropolitan railway in metropolitan area, but there is no study on a new wide metropolitan railway. This study present speed-up scheme of the Sosa-Wonsi line by enlarging the curve radius, reducing the horizontal steep gradient, reducing the stopping time, speeding up at underground section, and installing the PSD, etc. This scheme is evaluated using the simulation technique.
