Psf (polysulfone) 함유 양이온교환막의 바나듐 레독스-흐름 전지에서의 내구성 (Durability of Cation Exchange Membrane Containing Psf (polysulfone) in the All-vanadium Redox Flow Battery)

  • 바나듐 레독스-흐름 전지 (V-RFB)용 격막으로 사용하기 위해 폴리설폰(psf)에 폴리페닐렌설파이드설폰(PPSS)을 블록 공중합 시킨 폴리머와 여기에 TPA (tungstophosphoric acid)를 첨가하여 양이온교환막을 제작하였다. 제작한 막은 1M $H_2SO_4$용액을 사용하여 막 저항을 평가하였다. 제작한 Psf-PPSS와 Psf-TPA-PPSS 양이온교환막의 막 저항은 약 $0.94{\Omega}{\cdot}cm^2$를 나타냈다. 제작한 양이온교환막과 Nafion117을 격막으로 사용하여 V-RFB의 전기화학적 특성을 평가하였다. 4 A의 전류에서 측정한 V-RFB의 충 방전 셀 저항은 막의 종류에 따라 Nafion117 < Psf-TPA-PPSS < Psf-PPSS 의 순서로 값이 낮았다. 막을 5가 바나듐 수용액에 침적하여 침적시간 변화에 따른 V-RFB의 총 방전 셀 저항을 측정함으로써 내구성을 평가하였다. 내구성은 제작한 Psf-PPSS 막이 가장 우수하였으며, Nafion117막과 제작한 Psf-TPA-PPSS막이 서로 동등하였다.

Zn-Br 레독스 흐름 전지용 전해액에 관한 연구 (Study on the Electrolyte for Zn-Br Redox Flow Battery)

  • Four types of electrolyte were tested for the application as an electrolyte in the Zn-Br redox flow battery. Electrolyte was consist of $ZnBr_2$ (electrolyte number 1), $ZnBr_2+KCl$ (electrolyte number 2), $ZnBr_2+KCl+NH_4Br$ (electrolyte number 3) and $ZnBr_2+KCl+EMPBr(C_7H_{16}BF_4N)$ (electrolyte number 4). The each electrolyte property was measured by CV (cyclic voltammetry) method. The different between the potential of anodic and cathodic maximum current density in a CV experiment (${\Delta}E_P$) was 0.89V, 0.89V, 1.06V and 0.61V for the electrolyte number 1, 2, 3 and 4, respectively. The electrolyte involved KCl increased conductivity which was appeared by anodic and cathodic maximum current density in a CV experiment. It was estimated that the electrolyte of number 3 ($ZnBr_2+KCl+NH_4Br$) and number 4 ($ZnBr_2+KCl+EMPBr$) could be suitable as an electrolyte in the Zn-Br redox flow battery with non-appeared bubble, non-Br formation and high anodic-cathodic maximum current density.

  • The grafting of butyl methacrylate onto gelatin was investigated by potassium persulfate(KPS) redox system in aqueous solution. The optimum conditions of grafting were observed, and the physical property and the biocolnpatibility of graft copolymer membrane were examined. The gas permeability and the biodegradation by bacteria were decreased with the grafting percentage increased, and tensile strength increased with the grafting percentage increased.

Synthesis and Characterization of Copper(Ⅱ) Complex Containing 2,2'-dipyridylbenzamide

  • A new copper complex containing 2,2'-dipyridylbenzamide(dpba), Cu(dpba)(NO3)2(CH3CN), has been synthesized and characterized. The crystal structure has been determined. Crystal data: space group P212121, Z=8, a=13.911(3) Å, b=16.813(3) Å, c=18.932(3) Å, V=4427.9(1) Å3 and R=0.0674 for 1716 reflections. The copper environment is square pyramidal containing acetonitrile in axial site. Spectroscopic properties has been characterized in solution state. The redox property of the Cu(dpba)(NO3)2 complex is different from that of corresponding copper-dpa complex.

질산은 처리된 실크의 환원 발색 (Cathodic Coloration of Silk Fabric Treated with Silver Nitrate)

  • In this article, silk fabric was treated with silver nitrate ($AgNO_3$) as oxidizing agent, with conditions such as concentration, and treating time, and subsequently treated with reducing agents such as sodium boron hydride ($NaBH_4$) and sodium sulfide ($Na_2S$) to obtain cathodic coloration. After coloration of silk fabric, dyeing properties (K/S value), colorfastnesses such as wash, rubbing and light, and antibacterial activity property were examined. $AgNO_3$ treating time and reducing time did not influence K/S value, whereas the pH value at alkaline region showed a high K/S value of silk fabric. The cathodic colorations of silk fabric with both of reducing agents at $30^{\circ}C$ have excellent color fastnesses. Also the high antibacterial activities were obtained by the treatment with silver nitrate even at 1% of lower concentration.

TPR/TPO 실험기법을 이용한 전이금속산화물의 산화-환원 특성 연구 (Redox Property of Transition Metal Oxides in Catalytic Oxidation)

  • 3주기 전이금속(Cr~Zn)의 산화물 및 V, Mo, W의 산화물에 대하여 temperature-programmed reduction/trmperature-programmed oxidation(TPR/TPO) 실험을 통하여 그 산화-환원 특성을 조사하였다. TPO 곡선의 산화피크는 TPR 곡선의 환원피크와 비슷하거나 약간 낮은 온도에서 나타났으며, 환원피크에 비하여 온도 폭이 넓었다. 3주기 전이금속한화물의 산화 및 환원 과정의 활성화에너지는 33~149 kJ/mol 범위에 있는 반면, V, Mo, W 산화물에서는 더 컸다. 금속산화물의 산화 및 환원 과정의 활성화에너지 변화는 금속-산소 결합세기에 비례하였다. 환원(TPR) 및 산화(TPO) 과정에 대한 활성화에너지 차이(${\Delta}E_a$)가 작을수록 o-자일렌 산화반응에서 금속산화물 촉매의 활성화에너지도 작았다. 금속한화물 촉매에서 o-자일렌 산화반응은 금속산화물 표면의 산화-환원 과정을 반복하는 Mars-van Krevelen 반응 메카니즘으로 설명될 수 있음을 확인하였다.

바나듐 레독스 흐름 전지용 전해액으로 클로로황산 첨가에 관한 연구 (Study on the Electrolyte Added Chlorosulfuric Acid for All-vanadium Redox Flow Battery)

  • The electrolyte added the chlorosulfuric acid ($HSO_3Cl$) as an additive was tested for the electrolyte in all-vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) to increase the thermal stability of electrolyte. The electrolyte property was measured by the CV (cyclic voltammetry) method. The maximum value of a voltage and current density in the electrolyte added $HSO_3Cl$ was higher than that in the electrolyte non-added $HSO_3Cl$. The thermal stability of the pentavalent vanadium ion solution, which was tested at $40^{\circ}C$, increased by adding $HSO_3Cl$. The performances of VRFB using the electrolyte added and non-added $HSO_3Cl$ were measured during 30 cycles of charge-discharge at the current density of $60mA/cm^2$. An average energy efficiency of the VRFB was 72.5%, 82.4%, and 81.6% for the electrolyte non-added $HSO_3Cl$, added 0.5 mol of $HSO_3Cl$, and added 1.0 mol of $HSO_3Cl$, respectively. VRFB using the electrolyte added $HSO_3Cl$ was showed the higher performance than that using the electrolyte non-added $HSO_3Cl$.

Elucidation of Electrode Reaction of EuCl3 in LiCl-KCl Eutectic Melts through CV Curve Analysis

  • The electrode reaction of $Eu^{3+}$ in a LiCl-KCl eutectic melt has been re-examined using cyclic voltammetry (CV). In this work, for the first time, the kinetic details of a $Eu^{3+}/Eu^{2+}$ redox system have been completely elucidated, along with the thermodynamic property, through a curve fitting applied to experimental CV data, which were obtained in a wide scan rate range of 0.5 to 10 V/s. The simulated results showed an excellent fit to all experimental CV data simultaneously, even though the curve fittings were performed within a large dynamic range of initial transfer coefficient values, formal potentials, and standard rate constants. As a result, a proper formal potential, transfer coefficient, and standard rate constant for the $Eu^{3+}/Eu^{2+}$ redox system were successfully extracted using the CV curve fitting.

금속 필러가 첨가된 Pb-B-O계 유리와 Ni-Cr 합금 와이어 간의 전기 화학적 반응과 단락 거동 (Electrochemical Reaction and Short-Circuit Behavior between Lead Borate Glass Doped with Metal Filler and Ni-Cr Alloy Wire)

  • The electrochemical reaction between lead borate glass frit doped with Sn metal filler and Ni-Cr wire of a J-type resistor during a term of Joule heating is investigated. The fusing behavior in which the Ni-Cr wire is melted is not observed for the control group but measured for the Sn-doped specimen under 30 V and 500 mA. The Sn-doped lead borate glass frit shows a fusing property compared with other metal-doped specimens. Meanwhile, the redox reaction significantly contributes to the fusing behavior due to the release of free electrons of the metal toward the glass. The electrons derived from the glass, which used Joule heat to reach the melting point of Ni-Cr wire, increase with increasing corrosion rate at interface of metal/glass. Finally, the confidence interval is 95 ± 1.959 %, and the adjusted regression coefficient, R in the optimal linear graph, is 0.93, reflecting 93% of the data and providing great potential for fusible resistor applications.
