Implementing a Dielectric Recovery Strength Measuring System for Molded Case Circuit Breakers

  • In a low-voltage distribution system, the molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) is a widely used device to protect loads by interrupting over-current; however the hot gas generated from the arc discharge in the interrupting process depletes the dielectric recovery strength between electrodes and leads to re-ignition after current-zero. Even though the circuit breaker is ordinarily tripped and successfully interrupts the over-current, the re-ignition causes the over-current to flow to the load again, which carries over the failure interruption. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the dielectric recovery process and the dielectric recovery voltage of the MCCB. To determine these characteristics, a measuring system comprised of the experimental circuit and source is implemented to apply controllable recovery voltage and over-current. By changing the controllable recovery voltage, in this work, re-ignition is driven repeatedly to obtain the dielectric recovery voltage V-t curve, which is used to analyze the dielectric recovery strength of the MCCB. A measuring system and an evaluation technique for the dielectric recovery strength of the MCCB are described. By using this system and method, the measurement to find out the dielectric recovery characteristics after current-zero for ready-made products is done and it is confirmed that which internal structure of the MCCB affects the dielectric recovery characteristics.

  • The encryption of a file on a PC before saving can maintain security of the file. However, if the key for the encrypted file is lost or damaged, the encrypted file can not be decrypted, resulting in serious economical loss to the user or the user group. In order to minimize the economical loss a secure and reliable key recovery technology is required. Presented in this paper is the development and evaluation of PKRS (PC based Key Recovery System) which supports encryption and decryption of file and recovery of the encrypted file in emergency. The encapsulating method, which attaches key recovery information to encrypted file, is applied to the PKRS. In addition, the PKRS is developed and evaluated according to the requirements of Requirements for Key Recovery Products proposed by NIST and requirements of Common Criteria 2.0 to prove the safety and reliability of the information security system. This system is applicable to a PC and can be further extended to internet or intranet environment information system where in encryption and recovery of file is possible.

항공기 비정상 자세, 고도 및 속도 회복을 위한 자동회복장치 설계 및 검증에 관한 연구 (A Study on Design and Validation of Pilot Activated Recovery System to Recover Aircraft Abnormal Attitude, Altitude and Speed)

  • Relaxed Static Stability(RSS) has been applied to improve flight performance of modern version supersonic jet fighters. Flight control systems are necessary to stabilize an unstable aircraft and to provide adequate handling qualities. Also, flight control systems of modern aircraft employ many safety measure to cope with emergency situations such as a pilot unknown attitude flight conditions of an aircraft in night flight-testing. This situation is dangerous because the aircraft can lose if the pilot not take recognizance of situation. The system called the "Pilot Activated Recovery System" or PARS, provided a pilot initiated automatic maneuver capable of an aircraft recoveries in situations of unusual attitudes, speed and altitude. This paper addresses the concept of PARS with AARS(Automatic Attitude Recovery System), ATCS(Automatic Thrust Control System) and MARES(Minimum Altitude Recovery Estimation System), and this control law is designed by nonlinear control law design process based on model of supersonic jet trainer. And, this control law is verified by real-time pilot evaluation using an HQS(Handling Quality Simulator). The result of evaluation reveals that the these systems support recovery of an aircraft unusual attitude and speed, and improve a safety of an aircraft.

  • Reduction of labor hour for cleaning up of the used abrasives after blasting. is attempted by improving the efficiency of abrasive recovery process in the protective coating of ship's block, For this purpose, the theoretical background for pneumatic transport technology in the abrasive recovery system as well as experimental evaluation on the effect of design parameters such as flow pattern, saltation velocity and pressure drop on the efficiency of the abrasive recovery system are employed . By optimizing the operating parameters such as the length and diameter of the suction hose, specification of recovery device and recovery mouth, a new method which can dramatically increase the efficiency of abrasive recovery system, is proposed.

  • 재해 발생 시 주요 IT 인프라 중단을 최소화하고 연속적인 비즈니스 서비스를 제공하기 위한 재해복구 계획 및 재해복구시스템의 구축은 반드시 필요하다. 재해복구시스템 구축과정에서 데이터 복제는 재해 발생 시 중단 없는 연속적인 비즈니스 서비스 제공을 위한 데이터 복구의 핵심요소로 데이터 복제방식은 시스템 구성환경과 재해복구 목표수준에 따라 결정할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 재해복구시스템 구축에서 구성환경과 재해복구 목표수준에 적합한 데이터 복제방식 결정 방안에 대해 제시한다. 또한 복제방식 결정 절차를 적용하여 재해복구시스템을 구축하고 구축 결과를 분석한다. 재해복구시스템 구축 후 재해 상황에서 재해복구센터로 서비스가 전환, 정상적인 서비스가 진행되는지를 판단하기 위한 모의 테스트를 진행하고 결과를 분석하였다. 그 결과 재해복구시스템 구축 단계에서는 체계적으로 최적의 데이터 복제방식의 선정이 가능했다. 구축된 재해복구시스템은 연속적인 비즈니스 서비스 제공을 위해 재해복구센터로 서비스 전환되는 시간 RTO는 3.7시간으로, Tier 2였던 재해복구 수준이 목표수준 RTO 4시간 이내, RPO=0으로 개선되었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서 규칙 기반의 네트워크 장애 복구 시스템을 제안한다. 이 시스템은 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서 네트워크에 장애가 발생하였을 때, 정해진 규칙을 기반으로 장애를 스스로 복구할 수 있는 장애 관리 시스템이다. 시스템에 적용되는 규칙들을 네트워크 장애의 원인으로 분류하여 제시하였다. 그리고 본 논문에서는 네트워크 장애 복구 시스템이 각 상황에 맞게 규칙이 적용됨을 시뮬레이션을 통해 증명하였다.

  • Since most of companies these days are utilizing the Information system actively, Information System is the most important factor which should be recovered in terms of Business Continuity. However, a lot of enterprises have been outsourcing their Disaster Recovery Center. Therefore, it is highly possible that the information system can not work well and result in the discontinuity of business when any trouble arises because of seperated plan of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery. The study draws critical success factors for successful disaster recovery through researches of 42 documents. Then, factors are reviewed through interviews with consultants, experts of Business Continuity Plan and the information system officers of domestic banks. Domestic companies can make use of the study when they develop or renew Disaster Recovery Plan or Information System in terms of Business continuity.

폐열회수 환기시스템에 사용된 종이 열교환기의 성능에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Performance of Paper Heat Exchangers for Exhaust Heat Recovery Ventilation System)

  • The supply and use of exhaust heat recovery ventilation system as effective energy saving equipment has been increasing steadily. The exhaust heat recovery ventilation system can be installed at ceiling of balcony or emergency space. However, ventilation system can not be installed at emergency space because where have to remain as empty space by law. Therefore, the proper installation space of ventilation system is needed. In this study, to install heat recovery ventilation system in the light weight wall, thickness of heat exchanger was assembled below 140 mm. One or two paper heat exchangers were installed in the ventilation system. The efficiency of heat recovery was analyzed through performance experiment on case of cooling and heating mode.

  • Modem version of supersonic jet fighter aircraft must have been guaranteed appropriate controllability and stability in HAoA(High Angle of Attack). The HAoA flight control law have two parts, one is control law of departure prevention and the other is control law of departure recovery support. The control laws of departure prevention for advanced jet trainer consist of HAoA limiter, roll command limiter and rudder fader. The control laws of departure recovery support are consist of yaw-rate limiter and MPO(Manual Pitch Override) mode. The guideline of pitch rocking using MPO mode is simple, but operating skill of pitch rocking is very difficult by the pilot with inexperience of departure situation. Therefore, automatic deep stall recovery system is necessary. The system called the "Automatic Pitch Rocker System" or APRS, provided a pilot initiated automatic maneuver capable of an aircraft recoveries in situations of deep stall, speed and altitude. This paper addresses the design and validation for APRS to recovery of an deep stall without manual pitch rocking by the pilot. Also, this system is designed to recovery of speed, attitude and altitude after deep stall recovery using ATCS (Automatic Thrust Control System) and autopilot. Finally, this system is verified by real-time pilot evaluation using HQS (Handling Quality Simulator).

Inmarsat Mini-m 시스템의 하향 링크 수신기를 위한 Timing Recovery 루프 설계 (Design of a Timing Recovery Loop for Inmarsat Mini-m System Downlink Receiver)

  • 본 논문에서는 Inmarsat (International Marine Satellite) mini-m 시스템의 하향 링크 수신기를 위한 timing recovery 루프를 제안한다. Inmarsat mini-m 시스템 규격에서 요구하는 frequency tolerance는 ${\pm}924$ Hz (signal bandwidth: 2.4 kHz) 이며, timing acquisition 시간은 하나의 UW (Unique Word) 신호 구간인 15ms 이기 때문에 주파수 옵셋에 강인하고 UW 신호 구간에서의 빠른 aquisition 이 가능한 루프 설계가 요구된다. 이에 따라 본 논문에서는 주파수 옵셋에 강인하고 빠른 aquisition 이 가능한 timing recovery 루프를 제안하였으며, 제안된 timing recovery 루프는 UW detector와 UW detector에 의해 검출된 UW 신호를 이용한 timing recovery 루프를 연동한 구조이다. UW detector는 주파수 옵셋 환경에서 안정적인 성능을 위해 차동 기반의 noncoherent detector 방식을 적용하였으며, TED (Timing Error Detector) 알고리즘은 기존의 GAD (Gardner Detector) 알고리즘 대신 본 논문에서 제안하는 UW 신호를 이용한 차동 기반의 ELD (Early Late Detector) 알고리즘 적용하였다. 제안된 방식과 기존의 GAD와의 성능 비교를 통해 제안된 방식이 만족스러운 성능과 신뢰성 있는 동작이 가능함을 입증하였다.
