  • The aim of this study was to observe processes and implication to a given program for the 20 gifted children grade 5 by making the number from 1 to 100 with natural numbers 4,4,9 and 9. Revelation of creativity, mathematical tendency of students and meaningful responses were observed by the qualitative records of this game activity and the analysis of result. The major result of a study is as follows: The mathematical creativities of students were revealed and developed by this activity. And the mathematical attitude were changed and developed, so student could actively participate. And students could experience collaborative and social composition learning by presentations and discussion, competition with a permissive atmosphere and open-game rule. It was meaningful that mathematical ideas (negative number, square root, factorial, [x]: the largest integer not greater than x, absolute value, percent, exponent, logarithm etc.) were suggested and motivated by students themselves.

  • An institutional repository includes digital assets generated by academics, such as administrative documents, course notes, learning objects, or conference proceedings. It will provide a window that gives open access to improve the sponsoring institution's visibility and status. This paper discusses the growth and development of Institutional Repositories available in BRICS Countries. The relevant data was collected from the directory of OpenDOAR. Based on the data in OpenDOAR, 242 repositories are represented from BRICS countries. Among the 242, 84 (34.71%) repositories are from Brazil, 39 (16.12%) from China, 68 (28.10%) repositories from India, 22 (9.109%) repositories from Russia, and 29(11.98%) repositories from South Africa. Brazil has the largest number of records (11, 17,688) among BRICS Countries repositories.

  • Asset prices decline sharply and stock markets collapse when financial crisis happens. Recently we have encountered more frequent financial crises than ever. 1998 currency crisis and 2008 global financial crisis triggered academic researches on early warning systems that aim to detect the symptom of financial crisis in advance. This study proposes a risk recovery index for detection of good opportunities from financial market instability. We use SVM classifier algorithms to separate recovery period from unstable financial market data. Input variables are KOSPI index and V-KOSPI200 index. Our SVM algorithms show highly accurate forecasting results on testing data as well as training data. Risk recovery index is derived from our SVM-trained outputs. We develop a trading system that utilizes the suggested risk recovery index. The trading result records very high profit, that is, its annual return runs to 121%.

  • This paper consider's the problem of exploring an unfamiliar environment in search of recognizable objects of visual landmarks. In order to extract and recognize them automatically, a feature map is constructed which records the set of features continually during a learning phase. The map contains photometric geometric, and metric information of each feature. Meanwhile, the localization algorithm can determine the position of the robot by extracting features and matching in the map. These procedures are implemented and tested using an AMR, and preliminary results are presented in this paper.

  • This paper presents fault recognition and interpretation in power transformers using dissolved gas analysis embedded Kohonen feature mapping. The imprecision of gas ratio analysis in dissolved gas analysis are managed by mapping in accordance with learning of Kohonen neural network. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed system, it has been tested by the historical gas records to power transformers of Korea Electric Power Corporation. More appropriate fault types can support the maintenance personnels to increase the disgnostic performance for fault of power transformers.

  • In this study, we suggest an objective standard in selection of candidate horse mates. Korea Racing Authority provided racing records and pedigree information of 44 sires and 954 dams. The datasets were used to predict Racing Indices represented by the averages of earnings earned by offspring for each dam and sire that indicate the racing performance of its domestic progeny. Proportion of wins and second places to the number of taken races and the mean of distances for the won races of a sire were significant factors in linear model with minimum prediction errors. For dam, those factors were the average of earned money per race, number of outstanding broodmares in pedigree, and the comparable index which indicates the relative affinity with its mate. We can use the resultant model for a horse mate by choosing one of the candidates with the largest predicted value for hypothetical offspring.

  • Recently web based lectures in Engineering education are on the increasing. It is required to evaluate student's records on the web. This paper presents web based evaluation system which can evaluate efficiently a stage of understanding in the learning process. The proposed web based evaluation system is designed and implemented using PHP and ORACLE. Lecturers can manage their questions for an examination and learners also can sit for an exam anytime, anywhere, confirm their score in this system. Therefor it provide lecturers and learners with feedback education.

  • In this paper, we propose a method for estimating a walking direction by which a mobile robots follows a person using TRT (Tensor RT) pose, which is motion recognition based on deep learning. Mobile robots can measure individual movements by recognizing key points on the person's pelvis and determine the direction in which the person tries to move. Using these information and the distance between robot and human, the mobile robot can follow the person stably keeping a safe distance from people. The TRT Pose only extracts key point information to prevent privacy issues while a camera in the mobile robot records video. To validate the proposed technology, experiment is carried out successfully where human walks away or toward the mobile robot in zigzag form and the robot continuously follows human with prescribed distance.

  • The influence of the social changes on the food and nutritional status of Korean during the late period of Joseon Kingdom (1800-1910) was analysed by using old literatures and the records of the Westerners visited Korea during the period. The late period of Joseon can be designated the most poor and miserable period in the history of Korea. The people suffered from the corrupted and incompetent government and social disturbances. The main driving forces to reforming the society at that time were 'Silhak' (Practical Learning), introduction of Catholic church and Donghak movement. The food related literatures written in this period in Korea described the life of upper classes (Yangban) and paid little attention to the life of the poor majority. This paper introduces the food availability and habits of Korean observed by the Westerners visited Korea at that time.

  • This study investigated a case of a gifted Saudi student, X, who was early detected through Mawhiba (The Saudi Institution of Gifted) when he was eight years old. Then, the journey continued until he became a Tamayuz member and received a scholarship in 2022 to pursue his bachelor's at one of the prestige, high-ranking universities in the USA to study Mathematics and Economics. Lack of information about the status of Saudi verbal gifted maked X case a model to explore the roles of Mawhiba's programs in supporting Saudi verbal giftedness in general and particularly in learning the English language, plus seeking the opportunities Mawhiba provided for Saudi verbal gifted to enrich their giftedness in the English language through providing extended social networking and finally stating the sample's perspective about the opportunities and services Mawhiba provided him. The three core instruments to accumulate elaboration and interpret qualitative and quantitative data were academic records, writing samples, family observation, and a written interview.
