In this paper, we obtain some recurrence relations for the quotient moments of the lower record values from the generalized extereme value(GEV) distribution. We also deduce some recurrence relations for the negative moments from the GEV distribution.

Let {$X_{n},\;n\;\geq\;1$} be a sequence of independent and identically distributed random variables with absolutely continuous cumulative distribution function (cdf) F(x) and probability density function (pdf) f(x). Suppose $X_{U(m)},\;m = 1,\;2,\;{\cdots}$ be the upper record values of {$X_{n},\;n\;\geq\;1$}. It is shown that the linearity of the conditional expectation of $X_{U(n+2)}$ given $X_{U(n)}$ characterizes the lomax, exponential and pareto distributions.

In this article, we present characterizations of the power distribution via the identical hazard rate of lower record values that $X_n$ has the power distribution if and only if for some fixed n, $n{\geq}1$, the hazard rate $h_W$ of $W=X_{L(n+1)}/X_{L(n)}$ is the same as the hazard rate h of $X_n$ or the hazard rate $h_V$ of $V=X_{L(n+2)}/X_{L(n+1)}$.

In this paper, we obtain the characterizations of the Gumbel distribution by lower record values.

It seems to be less important to quality record than document control. But quality records provide a objectve evidence for certain product. So, the requirements of quality record is more serve than that of design document. It is obvious that quality record control promotes accumulation of know-how. The puepose of this study is to possible implementation methods through analysis of Code requirements. This paper suggests the considerations when establishing the quality records control system.

A pagurid hermit crab, Pagurus rathbuni that was collected from the deep water of the East Sea, Korea, has been newly recorded in the Korean fauna. The present record extends the geographic distribution of the species to Korean waters in the East Sea and extends the bathymetric range to 500 m. Morphological and distributional accounts of this species are presented with illustrations.

This paper derives maximum likelihood estimators (MLEs) and some approximate MLEs (AMLEs) of unknown parameters of the generalized exponential distribution when data are lower record values. We derive approximate Bayes estimators through importance sampling and obtain corresponding Bayes predictive intervals for unknown parameters for lower record values from the generalized exponential distribution. For illustrative purposes, we examine the validity of the proposed estimation method by using real and simulated data.

A family of continuous probability distribution has been characterized through the difference of two conditional expectations, conditioned on a non-adjacent record statistic. Also, a result based on the unconditional expectation and a conditional expectation is used to characterize a family of distributions. Further, some of its deductions are also discussed.
