Metabolic pathway is a series of chemical reactions occuning within a cell and can be used for drug development and understanding of life phenomenon. Many biologists are trying to extract metabolic pathway information from huge literatures for their metabolic-circuit regulation study. We propose a text-mining technique based on the keyword and pattern. Proposed technique utilizes a web robot to collect huge papers and stores them into a local database. We use gene ontology to increase compound recognition rate and NCBI Tokenizer library to recognize useful information without compound destruction. Furthermore, we obtain useful sentence patterns representing metabolic pathway from papers and KEGG database. We have extracted 66 patterns in 20,000 documents for Glycosphingolipid species from KEGG, a representative metabolic database. We verify our system for nineteen compounds in Glycosphingolipid species. The result shows that the recall is 95.1%, the precision 96.3%, and the processing time 15 seconds. Proposed text mining system is expected to be used for metabolic pathway reconstruction.

Purpose: As dementia progresses, cognitive function decreasing leads to memory loss, speech degradation, time and space degradation and judgment degradation, which causes difficulties in carrying out tasks related to daily life. It was said that community-based non-drug intervention therapy for early dementia patients was important to participate in entertainment treatment, including activities such as awareness and exercise therapy, exercise rehabilitation, aerobic exercise, and art. Methods: This study conducted 15 experimental and 15 control groups(experimental group : Fumanet exercise, control group : general occupational therapy) for eight weeks at the Daycare Center in Gyeonggi-do to find out the impact of the Fumanet exercise program on cognitive and depression functions of the elderly. The pre-post evaluation used KGDS, MMSE. Results: There were significant differences between the two groups in the function of menopause, memory recall, attention concentration and calculation, and depression, and no significant results were obtatined in memory registration, language function, understanding and fracture. The Fumanet movement was judged to be effective in improving cognitive function and reducing depression for the elderly with dementia. Conclisions: The Fumanet movement was judged to be effective in improving cognitive function and reducing depression for the elderly with dementia.
Purpose: This article attempted to determine the factors affecting the preload and screw loosening. Methods: Available clinical studies from 1981 to 2008 from the PUBMED that presented screw loosening data and review articles regarding screw joint stability were evaluated. Eleven studies dealing the biomechanical principles of the screw mechanics were reviewed. Moreover, the results of our data were included. Results: The frequency of screw loosening was consequently reduced due to the advancement in torque tightening with torque wrench, screw material, coating technique for reducing the frictional force, and thread design, etc. If preload in the screw falls below a critical level, joint stability may be compromised, and the screw joint may fail clinically. The types of fatigue failure of screw were divided to adhesive wear, plastic deformation, and screw fracture. Conclusion: An optimum preload is essential to the success of the implant-abutment complex. To maintain optimum preload, using a torque wrench and re-tightening at recall time were needed.

With the use of computed tomography (CT), computer-aided design/computer-assisted machining (CAD/CAM) technology and internet, the implant dentistry has been evolved. The surgical templates made by CAD/CAM technology and precise installation of implants, permit restorations to be inserted immediately after implants have been placed. The advantages of CAD/CAM guided implant procedures are flapless, minimally invasive surgery and shorter surgery time. With this technique, less postoperative morbidity and delivery of prosthesis for immediate function would be possible. A patient with an edentulous maxilla and mandible received 7 implants in mandible using CAD/CAM surgical templates. Prefabricated provisional fixed prostheses were connected immediately after implant installation. Provisional prostheses were evaluated for aesthetics and function during 6 months. Definitive prostheses were fabricated. At 6 months recall appointment, patient's occlusion was slightly changed. To prevent additional adverse effect, regular check-up and occlusal adjustment would be needed.
This study is aimed at exploring the educational meaning of cooperative hands-on activity in the technology subject from the perspective of a student who is an education consumer. For this purpose, this study selected 12 first year student of a middle school located at G City of Gyeonggi-do Province as research participants through purposeful sampling, and conducted an in-depth interview and group discussion based on stimulated recall questionary techniques. This study utilized area analysis, classification analysis and component analysis as a data analysis method, and secured the verity of the research through the examination between research participants and triangulation. As a result of this research work, it was found that the cooperative hands-on class in the technology subject had the meaning of 'Space between a burden and excitement about the technical making', 'Clue and ignition point of technological problem solving', and 'Self-discovery through Technical capability'. To be more concrete, 'Space between a burden and excitement about the technical making' means that students, whose usual school record is excellent, felt great psychological burdens of performance assessment, but their pre-experience and interest in 'Making' induced them to feel exhilaration of hands-on activity. 'Clue and ignition point of technological problem solving' means that students get to make much of the understanding & formation of the relationship with teammates in the process of resolving an unfamiliar hands-on activity task and to have the continuous problem-solving ability. 'Self-discovery through Technical capability' means that students get to realize the importance of learning experience of one's own making through hands-on activity learning, which could be the opportunity to meet the operant demands of the inner side. This study hopes that such results could be utilized as the basic data needed for designing the hands-on activity education in the technology subject more meaningfully and systematically for the time to come.

Objective : This study identified the effect of tailored occupational intervention applied to the elderly with mild dementia using the day care center. Methods : This study applied the single-group experimental design to 29 elderly with mild dementia who use the day care center in B area, and conducted a total of 10 sessions once a week, 60 minutes. Intervention consisted largely of group activities and individual activities, and individual activities were conducted one-on-one with various activities necessary to select occupational goals and achieve the goals through consultation between the elderly with mild dementia and the person in charge. The effects of tailored occupational intervention were confirmed through CERAD, BBS, and GDS. Results : Significant differences were shown in the total score of MMSE-KC, time orientation, attention, constructional praxis delayed recall, and trail making test B in the cognitive function changes, and standing to sitting, standing unsupported with eyes closed of BBS in the physical function changes, and in the GDS score in the depression changes (p<.05). Conclusion : Tailored occupational intervention has been shown to be effective in improving cognitive and physical functions of the elderly with mild dementia and reducing depression. This provided a basis for proposing a tailored occupational intervention as an intervention that can be applied to the elderly with mild dementia.
This study is to examine the effects of gesture based interface and display methods to make an effective virtual learning environment. The gesture based interface can provide interactive interface to make objects in the virtual learning environment by generating natural movement of users' gesture. This natural functionality leads users to apply natural movements as they do in real actions. Because of the natural user interface, the gesture based interface is expected to maximize learning outcomes. This study examined how the gesture based interface can be used when a head mounted display is applied for a virtual reality learning environment. For this study 44 colleagues students were participated. Two display methods (head mounted display vs. monitor) and two interface (gesture based interface vs. joystick) were tested to identify which might be more effective. The study was applied to different learning tasks which require different levels of spatial perception. The dependent variables are three constructs of virtual presence (spatial perception, immersiveness, and realness) and task completion time and recall tests. This study discussed potential disadvantages of gesture based interface while it showed positive usages of gesture based interface.
Exposure to hazardous substances occurs through multiple pathways. Aggregated risk assessment, which includes all potential exposure pathways to a single toxicant, is necessary to prevent exposure to harmful substances. We aimed to estimate cadmium and lead exposure through various media, such as food, water, air, smoking, cosmetics, and female hygiene products. This study covered 10,733 subjects from the Seventh Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(2016, 2017). Dietary exposure was estimated using 24-hour recall data. For water and inhalational exposure, regional variations were considered. Water was classified as tap, bottled, and public water. Inhalational exposure was estimated using the '2014 Time Use Survey' based on daily lifestyle and social status. The frequency and volume of cosmetic usage were randomly approximated by sex and age. Post-menarcheal and premenopausal women were assumed to use feminine hygiene products. Non-carcinogenic aggregated risks were estimated using the Aggregate Risk Index from EPAs and the Total Exposure Hazard Index from Korean government guidelines. For carcinogenic risk assessment, excessive cancer risk was estimated. Ingestion, especially food, was the major route for both cadmium and lead exposure. Smoking was also associated with high cadmium exposure. Exposure to lead from cosmetics was remarkable but not critical. In aggregate risk assessments, median cadmium and lead exposure did not exceed the reference value. Sex, age, smoking status, and income affected exposure levels, unlike to regional variations.
In order to quickly and accurately diagnose pneumonia on a chest X-ray image, different batch sizes of 4, 8, 16, and 32 were applied to the same Xception deep learning model, and modeling was performed 3 times, respectively. As a result of the performance evaluation of deep learning modeling, in the case of modeling to which batch size 32 was applied, the results of accuracy, loss function value, mean square error, and learning time per epoch showed the best results. And in the accuracy evaluation of the Test Metric, the modeling applied with batch size 8 showed the best results, and the precision evaluation showed excellent results in all batch sizes. In the recall evaluation, modeling applied with batch size 16 showed the best results, and for F1-score, modeling applied with batch size 16 showed the best results. And the AUC score evaluation was the same for all batch sizes. Based on these results, deep learning modeling with batch size 32 showed high accuracy, stable artificial neural network learning, and excellent speed. It is thought that accurate and rapid lesion detection will be possible if a batch size of 32 is applied in an automatic diagnosis study for feature extraction and classification of pneumonia in chest X-ray images using deep learning in the future.

In this paper, we propose an algorithm of welding bead detection and evaluation using geodesic active contour algorithm and high pass filter with image processing technique. The algorithm uses histogram equalization and high pass filter as gaussian filter to improve contrast. The image processing techniques smoothens the welding beads reduce the noise on an image. Then, the algorithm detects the welding bead area by applying the geodesic active contour algorithm and morphological ooperation. It also applies the balloon force that either inflates in, or deflates out the evolving contour for a better segmentation. After that, we propose a method for determining the quality of welding bead using effective length and width of the detected bead. In the experiments, our algorithm achieved the highest recall, precision, F-measure and IOU as 0.9894, 0.9668, 0.9780, and 0.8957 respectively. We compared the proposed algorithm with the conventional algorithms to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm. The proposed algorithm achieved better performance compared to the conventional ones with a maximum computational time of 0.6 seconds for segmenting and evaluating one welding bead.
