A Study about the cognition and realities of postpartum care for O.M.D's role model of postpartum care (산후조리원(産後調理院) 재원(在院) 산모(産母)의 산후조리(産後調理)에 대한 인식(認識) 조사(調査))

  • Purpose : 1. To analyze the cognition and realities of postpartum care and to aid the spread of oriental medicine in postpartum care. 2. Get a basic guideline of postpartum care home and O.M.D.'s role model of postpartum care. Methods : We studied the cognition and realities of postpartum care with questionnaire from May 2005 to July 2005, in postpartum care home at Gangdong-gu and Seocho-gu. 147 puerperants answered us. Results : Puerperants pay postpartum care for without regard to economic state. 59.2% of 147 puerperants replied that the reason of postpartum care at postpartum care home is for systematic care. Important selection guidelines of postpartum care home are expertness at infant and puerperant management. We can find that 78.2% of 147 puerperants will visit oriental medical clinic for postpartum care and 61.2% of 147 puerperants will take herb-medicine. Conclusion : Puerperants has well-expectation in postpartum care by oriental medicine. There is much room for extension of oriental medical province in postpartum care. So continuous publicity activities about oriental medical postpartum care are required.

Implementation of smart chungbuk tourism based on SNS data analysis (SNS 데이터 분석을 통한 스마트 충북관광 구축)

  • With the development of mobile devices and Internet, information exchange has actively been made through SNS and Blogs. Blogs are widely used as a space where people share their experience after their visit to tourist attractions. We propose a method of recommending associated tourist attractions based on tourists' opinions using issue analysis, association analysis, and sentimental analysis for various online reviews including news in order to help to develop tour products and policies. The result shows that north area of Chungbuk province has been selected as issue attractions, and associated attractions/keywards have been identified for given well-known attraction. Positive/negative opinion for review texts has been analyzed and user can grasp the reason for the sentiments. Multidimensional analysis technique has been integrated to derive additional sophisticated insights and various policy proposal for smart tourism.

A study on the Eating Out Behaviors of a Cold Noodle Restaurant Customer (냉면전문점 이용고객의 외식행동 분석)

  • This study was to analyse the eating out behaviors of customers who visit a Koran restaurant especially focused on CNR(cold noodle: naengmyun restaurant) and to find out the marketing promotion points. Through the snowball sampling, 423 customers data were surveyed in summer and winter as respects of seasonal variation. The collecting data were analysed descriptive data and statistical different using the Statistical Package for the Social Science(SPSS version 10.0). The results were as follows; The participants of the study were composed of 209 man(49.4%) and 204 woman(50.6%). Most customers were 30's(36.2%), office worker(27.5%) and spend 5,000${\sim}$10,000 won(46.3%) for eating out. The consumer more preferred a specialty restaurant, the reason was to expect better taste(37.1%). In visiting CNR, the customer frequently ordered complement menu(90.1%) with cold noodle, complement menu should be developed periodically. The important factor to visiting CNR was the accessing convenience for the shop and desirable taking time was within 15 minutes. The buckwheat noodle in broth(mulnaengmyun) was the most favorite selecting menu. And the noodle texture was key evaluation factor in all types of cold noodle and the other factor was different according to the types of cold noodle. The visiting frequencies of CNR were not significantly different according to seasonal variation and sociodemographic variable. Above the half of customers visited at CNR with his/her family. This study find out the suggestion that consumer eating concepts about CNR was family eating therefore the cold noodle. specialty restaurant should be create more delight atmosphere and developed menu for families' eating out place.

The Effect of the Social Support on the Psychological Well-being of Custodial Grandmothers in Rural Korea (사회적 지지가 농촌 조손가족 조모의 심리적 복지에 미치는 영향)

  • Family dissolution and economic difficulties of the grandchild's parents are the most prevailing reason for an increase of grandparent-headed families in rural Korea. However, there is a lack of empirical research looking at the experiences of custodial grandmothers, social support, and their psychological well-being. In this regard, this study examined the effect of social support (formal & informal) on the psychological well-being of custodial grandmothers in rural Korea. For this purpose, quantitative and qualitative research methods were conducted. Quantitative data were gathered, using structured questionnaire, from 311 grandmothers who were raising their grandchildren in rural Korea as primary care-givers. Statistical methods used for data analysis were descriptive statistics and hierarchical regression analysis with SPSS WIN 19.0 programs. Qualitative data were collected by in-depth interviews to 10 custodial grandmothers in rural area. The results of this study are as follows. First, almost half of the parents of the grandchild didn't visit and didn't call anymore. Some relatives -aunt, uncle, etc.- support the grandparent-headed family economically and emotionally. 3/4 of the grandparent-headed families were supported by the government and community. This was not small numbers, but the amount of economic support was low. Second, grandmothers in the study showed quite a high level of depression while their happiness level was relatively low. There were differences in the factors influencing the level of happiness/depression of these rural grandmothers. Overall, the study's results showed the importance of formal & informal support for psychological well-being of the custodial grandmothers in rural Korea. Policy and theoretical implications are discussed.

Retrospective Study on the Flow and Characteristics of Dental Emergency Patients in Chosun University Hospital

  • Purpose: The aim of the present study is to assess the importance of proper treatment timing for dental emergency patients by characterizing current patient care in the emergency room. Materials and Methods: A retrospective chart review of 3,211 patients who visited the Chosun University Hospital's dental emergency department (Gwangju, Korea) was conducted from January 1, 2011 to May 31, 2014. Information regarding age, gender, onset date, main causes, and diagnoses were collected and analyzed. The main causes were divided into six categories: assault, household/play, sports, traffic, work, and others. Result: Emergency visits were more common for men (69%), and the ratio of males to females was 2.2:1 On average, the major cause was household/play (49.8%), followed by others (18.9%), traffic (16.6%), assault (9.1%), sports (2.9%), and work (2.6%). The most frequent diagnosis on average was dental trauma with 82.4%, followed by infection (10.7%), others (4.7%), and bleeding (2.2%). Conclusion: The main reasons for visits to the dental emergency department are dental trauma, dental infection, bleeding, and others. The most frequent reason for dental emergency patients to visit the emergency department was dental trauma (82.4%).

Factors associated with access to dental care among Korean adults (성인의 구강의료접근성의 관련요인 - 구강질환의 의사진단 및 처치율을 중심으로-)

  • Objectives: The aim of this analysis was to investigate factors associated with dental visits in terms of getting diagnosis and receiving care for diagnosed dental diseases among Korean adults. Methods: Data used in this analysis were from the 2005 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey which involved a representative sample of 25,487 adults nineteen years of age and older who resided in Korea. This analysis used data of adults who had completed health interview survey (n = 25,215). Uni- and bi-variate analysis, Chi-square test, and logistic regression analyses. were conducted using SAS. Results: The percentages of people diagnosed (treated) dental canes, periodontal disease. and temporomandibular joint disorder were 70.4(77.1), 16.1 (55.7), and 0.6(37.4), respectively. The reception of treatment for diagnosed dental caries and periodontal disease was significantly associated with older age, high monthly household income, and high education attainment. Logistic regression model indicated that age, monthly household income, education attainment, type of health insurance, and chewing problem were significantly associated with getting diagnosis and treatments of dental diseases. Most frequently answered reason for non - or delayed treatments of diagnosed dental diseases during the last one year was cost of treatments. Conclusions: The findings indicated that socio-economic-status still significantly affected reception of needed dental treatments among Korean adults despite the national health insurance system. Oral health policy and programs should be augmented to provide further support to adults of low socio-economic-status who are more prone to dental diseases yet lack resources for needed dental treatments.

Study of Personal Emergency Response System among Community Residing Elderly (119무선페이징의 이용실태에 관한 연구 - 일 지역을 중심으로 -)

  • Health and disease related characteristics of 226 selected by systematic sampling from 452 personal emergency response system(PERS) beneficiaries and actual conditions of using PERS by them are as follows. Over 86% of PERS beneficiaries have not good health conditions and 70.7% of them have chronic diseases. On social supports family was highest as 52.2% and cases having social workers' assistance were 15.2%, but 53 as 23.7% had not visit or call from anyone and showed very low social supports. 86.2% was given PERS within 3years and 79.1% had it by the recommendation from related agencies and 4.0% was by their demand. On wearing it, 78.3% didn't bring it with them and 92% of them answered they were not sick and then it was found that they didn't use it because they had not special emergency. On satisfaction with paging system's operation, 81.3% answered they were satisfied with it, 48.8% used it for 'acute and emergency diseases' and 29.3% called ambulance for 'appointed medical treatment'. Time required for ambulance to arrive at the field was within 10 min. in 87.8% and after 10 min. in 12.2% and emergency service for beneficiaries by fire service was very good. On satisfaction with use of PERS, 85.4% were satisfied with it, 81.9% who requested repair or replacement of radio paging got it back after one or two days of their request and they answered they were satisfied with A/S. 45.5% answered they powered off it because 'they didn't use it' and 12.1% had 'economical reason of phone charge'.

A study on the tourism folklore development in choongnam province (충남지역의 관광민예품 개발에 관한 연구 -섬유 및 금속공예를 중심으로-)

  • Recently the tourism industry has achieved rapid growth and thus stands out as a means for the improvement of international payments and the acquirement of foreign currency. In particular, the hotel and major tourist travel industries have been developed for the inducement of foreign tourists. However, the manu-facturing and sales indust\ulcornerries of tourism folklore haven't developed. The reason is that the endeavor to attract tourists has been more emphasized than the development of tourism folklore which includes chief shopping items and indust-rialization. Tourism folklore plays a great role not only as material evidence of a tourist's visit to a country or region but also as a gift and a souvenir. Also it represents the image and the degree of the industrial development of the nation, so it should be congruent with the nature and the images of the region. Nevertheless, our tourism folklore has been merely mass produced by specific companies that do not represent the region's image and nature in their products. Tourism folklore development can raise the image of Choongnam and serve as a catalyst to induce tourists. Also, it can be an avenue for com$$\mu$ity publicity and industrialization. Thus, this study has examined and analyzed original products made with textiles and metal materials whether can be developed into tourism folklore. Also this study presents the example of developed tourism folklore works in a foreign country. It tries to give the unique symbolic image of Choongnam by developing the original products with Choongnam' s own materials. However, this study has shown that the actual conditions of tourism folklore development in Choongnam are seriously inferior to other industries. The producers are limited. Moreover, the product items are coarse. Many problems are being brought up which should be improved. Hereafter, to develop Choongnam's own tourism folklore, it should be carried out with financial and political support from the government, design development by industrial circles, professional design training and marketing research by the sellers.

Long-Term Tolerability of Escitalopram in Korean Adolescents

  • Objectives : We investigated the long-term tolerability of escitalopram in Korean adolescents. Methods : The subjects were 37 adolescents, who had been diagnosed with depressive disorder in accordance to DSM-IV. Clinical effectiveness was assessed by Clinical Global Impression-Improvement (CGI-I) scale at the final follow-up visit. Tolerability was assessed through a medical record of the reason for discontinuation of escitalopram and documented adverse events. Results : The mean duration of treatment was $78.1{\pm}89.5$ days, and the mean dosage was $10.0{\pm}4.4$mg/day. Out of the total 37 patients, two (5%) patients sustained use of escitalopram. Twelve patients (32.4%) discontinued use of escitalopram due to target symptom remission, and 23 patients (61.9%) due to insufficient efficacy. Six patients (16.2%) had at least one documented adverse event. However, no suicidal ideation or self-injurious behavior was reported. Significant differences in clinical symptom improvement efficacy were seen between the patients who were receiving escitalopram for less than 8 weeks (4.3%, 1/13) and those for more than 8 weeks (92.9%, 13/14). There was no significant difference between the tolerability of monotherapy compared to the concomitant use group. Conclusion : The results of this study suggest that long-term use of escitalopram may result in superior efficacy than shortterm use, and is tolerable in Korean adolescents with depression.

A study on re-use intention through external stimuli and infection control of dental office perceived by medical consumer (의료소비자가 인식하는 치과의원의 감염관리와 외부자극을 통한 재이용의사에 관한 연구)

  • Objectives : This study focused on examine the relevance between behavioral changes of customers and re-use intention on medical institution after experiencing infection control through external stimuli. Methods : This research was based on self-standing survey conducted from August to November 2010, 214 people who randomly selected from five dental clinics located in Busan were analyzed as the final group. Collected data were performed using SPSS 12.0 for Window. Results : 1. 82.8% of those surveyed who experienced external stimulation have changed their behavior on hospital environments and facilities, and 80.5% of them answered the stimuli influenced their re-use intention on medical institution. 2. There were no significant differences between participants by general characteristics on 'The reason why medical team wear sanitary appliances'. In age group 30~39, 85.4% of participants chose the answer so the difference were statistically significant(p<.001). Result by household income showed significant difference in group over $1,000 to $2,000 as 82.7% response(p<.05). 3. 94.4% of participants chose 'Required' for both surgical suits and gloves in research of 'The necessity level of personal sanitary appliances' which medical teams wear for treatment and 79.4% agreed that medical teams need to change their medical gloves whenever treating each patients. 4. The survey revealed that the most important appliance in patient's awareness were surgical gloves and protective goggles has chosen as the least important one. Conclusions : Patients as medical consumer were highly noticed of importance of the infection control in dental clinic and necessity of personal sanitary appliances. The patients who has accessed dental infection control information by external stimuli in advance showed objectival changes of their visit and behavioral changes with bringing medical environments together. This aspects influenced those patient's re-use intention in conclusion.
