Implementation of an Image Board Remote Control System using PDA based on Embedded Linux in Wireless Internet (무선 인터넷 망에서 임베디드 리눅스 기반 PDA를 이용한 영상보드 원격 제어 시스템 구현)

  • This thesis proposed a method that connecting step motor to image send board which can acquire image to move and remote controlling via streaming image board of PDA(personal digital assistant) based on embedded Linux which is using wireless network There are three embedded Linux system to embody movable image send board. First, though the wireless network a signal of PDA is transmitted to the board which has embedded Linux and a system which is controlled by the expansion I/O port of the board. Second, it's a system streaming realtime image at a PDA which has embedded Linux. The last is a system which controls a process of image board using TCP/IP communication and image send board at PC. These are the system which can use industrial settings and homes. It can also make use of an embodiment method about travelling image robot.

Cooperative Video Streaming and Active Node Buffer Management Technique in Hybrid CDN/P2P Architecture

  • Recently, hybrid CDN/P2P video streaming architecture is specially designed and deployed to achieve the scalability of P2P networks and the desired low delay and high throughput of CDNs. In this paper, we propose a cooperative video streaming and active node buffer management technique in hybrid CDN/P2P architecture. The key idea of this streaming strategy is to minimize network latency such as jitter and packet loss and to maximize the QoS(quality of service) by effectively and efficiently utilizing the information sharing of file location in CDN's proxy server which is an end node located close to a user and P2P network. Through simulation, we show that the proposed cooperative video streaming and active node buffer management technique based on CDN and P2P network improves the performance of realtime video streaming compared to previous methods.

  • We have recently studied the application of Information Technology to agricultural industry for competitive power. Because the big stockyards are far away from the house, we need a realtime monitering and control system to manage it efficiently. This paper presented design and implementation for a realtime monitering and controlling system that we can use to watch an movement of an electronic devices in the stockyards. Compared to other systems, we have more trust in our system by confirming an operation of devices through a realtime video streaming.

  • In the conventional video file system, videos are stored in a high performance server which has mass storage hard disks or disk arrays. For 3D internet broadcasting, real time operations are required to transmit video files to many clients. This paper describes the design of the 3D internet broadcasting system which can provide realtime streaming service to many users in the 5G environment. In reality, unicast is used to transmit multimedia contents over the internet rather than IP multicast since IP multicast has its own drawbacks in deployment, security, maintenance and so on. In addition, multimedia broadcasting service system like VoD has difficulties in applying to 3D internet broadcasting system since it requires a large amount of system and network resources. In this work, we develop a 3D internet broadcasting system which can construct effective data delivery by minimizing performance-degrading factors.

  • With proliferation of computer and wireless network technology, it is common to access Internet through wireless network using mobile device. Ratio of using streaming media out of many applications through Internet is increasing not only in wired network but also in wireless network. Streaming media is much bigger than other contents and requires more network bandwidth and more computing resources. However mobile devices hate relatively poor computing resource and low network bandwidth. If media streaming service is provided for mobile devices without any consideration about network bandwidth and computing power, it is hard for the client to get high qualify service. Since mobile device is supported with very limited energy from the battery, media streaming should be adjusted to varying energy state of mobile device in realtime to ensure complete playback of streaming media. In this paper, we propose DFRC to provide high qualify service to mobile client through wireless network by controlling the number of frames transmitted to client based on computing resource and energy state of mobile device.

  • Adaptive streaming algorithm for the realtime video decoder that can be dynamically adaptable to the network channel status or terminal environment is described and performance analyzed. An LMS filter is used to predict the bitrate and predicted bitrate is used to optimize based prediction filter is used to adapt and optimize the quality of the decoded pictures. The quality of the output pictures are about 48dB.

  • 본 논문의 폭주적인(bursty) 트래픽을 생성하는 스트리밍에서 사용자가 요구하는 최소 품질 (Quality of Service)의 보장 및 공정한 대역폭 활용을위하여 개선된 대역폭 적응 기법을 제안한다. LAN상의 서버/클라이언트 유니캐스트 환경에서 수행된 시뮬레이션은 제안한 기법에 의한 전송율의 패턴이 네트워크의 일시적인 혼잡에 의한 영향이 적고 안정하며 대역폭을 공유하는 기타 커넥션들에게 공정하도록 대역폭을 활용함을 보여준다. 제안한 대역폭 적응 기법에 사용한 윈도우 기반 전송율 추정은 윈도우 크기에 따라 스트리밍 어플리케이션의 graceful degradation과 대역폭 활용의 trade-off을 갖고 있지만 세션 중 윈도우 크기를 상황에 따라 동적으로 변화시킴으로 요구사항을 충족하도록 응용될 수 있다.

  • As the IP multicast function is very slowly deployed in Internet due to its scalability problem and inter-domain interoperability problem, interest in the P2P(Peer-to-Peer) streaming technologies for the realtime multimedia multicast applications such as IPTV is highly growing. This paper proposes a P2P streaming method for the QoS-sensitive multimedia multicast applications such as highly-interactive personal IPTV and video conferences. The proposed P2P streaming method allows an application to construct a reliable streaming tree in which a proper number of backup peers are placed according to its reliability requirement. The reliable streaming tree reduces the reconnection delay, occurred in the case of a normal and/or abnormal peer leave, so as to minimize the loss of streaming data. In the proposed P2P streaming method, the join delay of a peer called startup delay is also substantially reduced because the bandwidth and end-to-end delay information of every peer kept in a distributed way allows the target peer for a joining peer to be able to be quickly determined. Moreover, the proposed method's peer admission control mechanism based on the bandwidth and end-to-end delay enables the delay-bounded streaming services to be provided for its corresponding applications.

Adaptive Realtime Traffic Allocation Algorithm for Streaming Data (스트리밍 데이터를 위한 적응적 실시간 트래픽 할당 기법)

  • Developing a home network and a ubiquitous infrastructure requires various communication techniques and devices with more advanced hardware. With this development, increasing realtime access to multimedia data results in rapid degradation of qualify for multimedia playback. This paper presents a traffic allocation technique based on MPP(Media Preference for Presentation) that can steadily maintain multimedia playback quality by adaptively allocating streaming traffic requested from clients with different playback performances. Media preference is defined in accordance with content popularity and playback performance of client devices. Through experiments when requested stream data exceeds processing ability of a midea server, the proposed allocation technique shows 10% quality improvement comparing to the system without applying the proposed allocation technique.
