  • Visual media transmits image and information reproduced in large quantities, such as a photography, film, television, video, advertisement, or computer image. Correspondence to the students' reception and recognition of culture in the future. arrangements for the field of studies of visual culture. 'Visual Culture' implies cultural phenomena of visual images via visual media, which includes not only the categories of traditional arts like a painting, sculpture, print, or design, but the performance arts including a fashion show or parade of carnival, and the mass and electronic media like a photography, film, television, video, advertisement, cartoon, animation, or computer image. In the world of visual media, Image' functions as an essential medium of communication. Therefore, people call the culture of today fra of Image Culture', which has been converted from an alphabet convergence era to an image convergence one. Image, via visual media, has become a dominant means for communication in large part of human life, so we can designate an Image' as a typical aspect of visual culture today. Image, as an essential medium of communication, plays an important role in contemporary society. The one way is the conversion of analogue image like an actual picture, photograph, or film into digital one through the digitalization of digital camera or scanner as 'an analogue/digital commutator'. The other is a way of process with a computer drawing, or modeling of objects. It is appropriate to the production of pictorial and surreal images. Digital images, produced by the other, can be divided into the form of Pixel' and form of Vector'. Vector is a line linking the point of departure to the point of end, which organizes informations. Computer stores each line's standard location and correlative locations to one another Digital image shows for more 'Perfectness' than any other visual media. Digital image has been evolving in the diverse aspects, such as a production of geometrical or organic image compositing, interactive art, multimedia art, or web art, which has been applied a computer as an extended trot of painting. Someone often interprets digitalized copy with endless reproduction of original even as an extension of a print. Visual af is no longer a simple activity of representation by a painter or sculptor, but now is intimately associated with a matter of application of media. There is some problem in images via visual media. First, the image via media doesn't reflect a reality as it is, but reflects an artificial manipulated world, that is, a virtual reality. Second, the introduction of digital effect and the development of image processing technology have enhanced a spectacle of destructive and violent scenes. Third, a child intends to recognize the interactive images of computer game and virtual reality as a reality, or truth. Education needs not only to point out an ill effect of mass media and prevent the younger generation from being damaged by it, but also to offer a knowledge and know-how to cope actively with social, cultural circumstances. Visual media education is one of these essential methods for the contemporary and future human being in the overflowing of image informations. The fosterage of 'Visual Literacy' can be considered as a very purpose of visual media education. This is a way to lead an individual to the discerning, active consumer and producer of visual media in life as far as possible. The elements of 'Visual Literacy' can be divided into a faculty of recognition related to the visual media, a faculty of critical reception, a faculty of appropriate application, a faculty of active work and a faculty of creative modeling, which are promoted at the same time by the education of 'visual literacy'. In conclusion, the education of 'Visual Literacy' guides students to comprehend and discriminate the visual image media carefully, or receive them critically, apply them properly, or produce them creatively and voluntarily. Moreover, it leads to an artistic activity by means of new media. This education can be approached and enhanced by the connection and integration with real life. Visual arts and education of them play an important role in the digital era depended on visual communications via image information. Visual me야a of day functions as an essential element both in daily life and in arts. Students can soundly understand visual phenomena of today by means of visual media, and apply it as an expression tool of life culture as well. A new recognition and valuation visual image and media education is required to cultivate the capability of active, upright dealing with the changes of history of civilization. 1) Visual media education helps to cultivate a sensibility for images, which reacts to and deals with the circumstances. 2) It helps students to comprehend the contemporary arts and culture via new media. 3) It supplies a chance of students' experiencing a visual modeling by means of new media. 4) There are educational opportunities of images with temporality and spaciality, and therefore a discerning person becomes to increase. 5) The modeling activity via new media leads students to be continuously interested in the school and production of plastic arts. 6) It raises the ability of visual communications dealing with image information society. 7) An education of digital image is significant in respect of cultivation of man of talent for the future society of image information as well. To correspond to the changing and developing social, cultural circumstances, and the form and recognition of students' reception of them, visual arts education must arrange the field of studying on a new visual culture. Besides, a program needs to be developed, which is in more systematic and active level in relation to visual media education. Educational contents should be extended to the media for visual images, that is, photography, film, television, video, computer graphic, animation, music video, computer game and multimedia. Every media must be separately approached, because they maintain the modes and peculiarities of their own according to the conveyance form of message. The concrete and systematic method of teaching and the quality of education must be researched and developed, centering around the development of a course of study. Teacher's foundational capability of teaching should be cultivated for the visual media education. In this case, it must be paid attention to the fact that a technological level of media is considered as a secondary. Because school education doesn't intend to train expert and skillful producers, but intends to lay stress on the essential aesthetic one with visual media under the social and cultural context, in respect of a consumer including a man of culture.

  • The commemorative AR postage stamps which are the world first presented at The YEOSU EXPO 2012 has had meaning of communicating with future in this present from a convergence that the most analog medium is using now and that the AR is cutting edge of digital technology. The AR stamps printed 10 kind out of 33 commemorative stamps. These have great significance that is artistic value than that is world first. The applied AR images are not only expressed 3D real images but also artic represented and signifying each stamp images from visualized creativity process, and build 'new art space' that is new concept between on real(analog) and virtual(digital). This study analyzes meaning of images and then makes concept of AR contents design. The processing is designed and considered the meaning of architectures and environments, and the regional specific feature of the Yeosu with surrealistic graphic concept. The 10 of deducted images were expressed after AR coding such as visual arts. This study realized markerless 3D image tracking AR stamps and deducted research result are; the first, it was able to figure out how to realize AR in the process of registering the reference images, coordinating transformation, and hybriding AR on the stamps for the mobile devices. The second, it was able to be seeked a possibility of new virtual exhibition space. The third, it was able to know possibility of satisfaction of immersing with visual formativeness and usability with informativity.

  • The work to be analyzed in this study is an animation showed in 2006, which was made by Director Satoshi Kon on the basis of a Japanese SF novel written by Yasutaka Tsutsui. The key point is to create a new meaning through showing imaginative power of audiences from the world flying across the borderland between reality and fiction. It regarded suitable for analysis of the borderland appearing in the unconscious world of dream and reality through "abjection". Therefore, this study intends to analogize the conclusion through analysis of the animation focusing on the theory of Julia Kristeva. Abject appears as the phenomenon which cannot be disappeared and the one threatening to disunite which the subject had already organized in the symbolic. The self-feeling of characters is not stable and it keeps watch constantly on the one which may neutralize his caution. They are looking for the power to strengthen the life granting to the subjecthood by chora as the resisting power against the symbolic order. That is, the dreaming space where revengeful power of primitive libido is working and shows mother as Paprika as well as enters through DC mini, works as the semiotic chora as "maternal body".   • In recent years, new media art is developing to play its roles as a means of remediation to overturn, reuse, and alter the old technologies rather than technology-dependent art to accept new technologies and use them as artistic tools. Here, the concept of new should mean looking at the old technologies in an indirect way and finding new meanings in them rather than presenting new technologies. The starting point of this study was the concept of spatialization in which the concept of new media art would externalize games from inside to outside the screen in gamification-applied spaces. Participatory new media art adds a platform for viewer's participation and utilizes the entire space of the exhibition hall instead of allowing for simple viewing at the exhibition hall. The study focused on the changes and phenomena in the process of games belonging to the artistic space through the interactivity of gamification. Here, the premise was that gamification meant the "spatialization of games." The study examined several cases of games being altered in the spatialization process to figure out interactivity for viewers and developmental directions for interface design at a gallery.

  • This paper examines the relevance of pre-production and storytelling in big data analysis and, focusing on JTBC's Man to Man series, looks at how the drama's storytelling should be structured. In this study, we conducted text mining on blogs focused on a particular topic to read the viewer's thoughts on pre-produced dramas and on 67 blogs written about Pre-Production Dramas from 2016.12.15 to 2017.12.15. Also, we conducted sentiment analysis about the Man to Man series, which is not only a pre-production drama, but also has storytelling issues. The blog text extraction and text mining were analyzed using the OutWit Hub and the R, and the tools.provided by social metrics were used to make sentiment analyses of the larger data. Sentiment analysis revealed that the viewers of the Man to Man series did not agree with the romance between Kim Sul-woo and Cha Do-ha, due to the lack of reality in the female characters. Therefore, it was concluded that it is crucial to increase the reality of the characters in order to increase the audience's empathy. These studies will continue to be necessary, because they will form the basis for digitally driven storytelling studies and will provide valuable materials for conducting predictions and instructions in the cultural content industry.

Elementary school children with mother's perception and policy demands for after school care classes (초등학생 자녀를 둔 어머니의 방과 후 돌봄 교실에 대한 인식과 정책적 요구)

  • This study aims to investigate the awareness and policy demands of after school care classes of mothers with elementary school children. The participants of study were 25 mothers with elementary school children in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, Gangwon. Data collection was conducted from June 23, 2017 to July 18, 2017 by focus group interview. Through the data analysis, the results of the study were analyzed as 'the reality of the after school care class that the mother sees' and 'the policy demands of the mother's after school care class'. 'The reality of the after school care class that the mother sees' is 'the overall level of after school care class is low', 'the probability of selecting the same as a lottery', 'the quality of education that varies depending on the level of the teacher', 'for the child attending the care class negative awareness'. 'Mother's policy demands for after school care classes' are presented as 'positioning as a substitute for thinking and caring', 'improvement of separation between parents' expectations', 'expansion of care recipients', 'request for resilient management'. As the conclusion of this study, first, after school care classes need to focus on the care function. Second, it is necessary to operate after school care classes by level. Third, the realistic needs of mothers should be reflected so that after school care classes can be positioned as alternatives to private education.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify a potential user's need for use and operational of the elderly day care center and to identify the problems and suggest development directions. The data collection was conducted on 320 ordinary people living in J-do through a questionnaire, and sought to understand the operational status of in-depth interview institutions for the heads and employees of six center. As a result of the analysis, a potential user's ware not aware of the functions and specific roles of day care center, the cost of facilities was covered by the government, and that facilities and the environment were important factors when using the center. In-depth interviews show that the current policy or system is far from reality and does not fit the status or role of the workers and the operational status of the agency, requiring the re-establishment of the on-site system. Based on the research results, the development direction of day care facilities requires active promotion and strengthening of family support for improving and enhancing awareness of day care facilities to citizens at the national level. Second, the quality of nursing services should be enhanced through improvements in facilities and the environment that reflect users' needs. Third, The government should improve the quality of nursing services by improving the poor employment conditions and treatment of workers to fit the reality.

A Study on the Development of Driving Simulator for Improvement of Unmanned Vehicle Remote Control (무인차량 원격주행제어 신뢰성 향상을 위한 통합 시뮬레이터 구축에 관한 연구)

  • This paper describes the development of unmanned vehicle remote control system which is configured with steering and accelerating/braking hardware to improve the sense of reality and safety of control. Generally, in these case of the remote control system, a joystick-type device is used for steering and accelerating/braking control of unmanned vehicle in most cases. Other systems have been developing using simple steering wheel, but there is no function of that feedback the feeling of driving situation to users and it mostly doesn't include the accelerating/braking control hardware. The technology of feedback means that a reproducing the feeling of current driving situation through steering and accelerating/braking hardware when driving a vehicle in person. In addition to studying feedback technologies that reduce unfamiliarity in remote control of unmanned vehicles, it is necessary to develop the remote control system with hardware that can improve sense of reality. Therefore, in this study, the reliable remote control system is developed and required system specification is defined for applying force-feedback haptic control technology developed through previous research. The system consists of a steering-wheel module similar to a normal vehicle and an accelerating/braking pedal module with actuators to operate by feedback commands. In addition, the software environment configured by CAN communication to send feedback commands to each modules. To verify the reliability of the remote control system, the force-feedback haptic control algorithms developed through previous research were applied, to assess the behavior of the algorithms in each situation.

  • We humans try to pursue a better living environment along with the development of modern civilization. In particular, it is a reality that a lot of efforts are being made to improve food, clothing, and shelter. Among them, the concept of housing serves as a major function to improve the quality of life. However, the government's excessive tax rate regulation policy surrounding the sale of such houses is actually inducing annual or monthly rent expenses. Furthermore, it is a reality that even home sales are not being handled smoothly. In general, the cost of owning a house (apartment, etc.) can be divided into acquisition and possession. In addition, a lot of taxes are borne by long-term housing. Subsequently, due to the increase in the transfer tax rate due to the sale of houses, the disposal of property rights is not free. This serves as a limiting factor for market principles. If the tax rate for the transfer of multi-homed people is raised, it can cause a phenomenon that encourages yearly or monthly rent. This is a part where it seems necessary to reduce the transfer tax rate according to the multi-year retention period.
