Architecture Design for MPEG-2 AAC Filter bank Decoder using Recursive Structure (Recursive 구조를 이용한 MPEG-2 AAC 복호화기의 필터뱅크 구현)

  • MPEG-2 Advanced Audio Coding(AAC) is widely used in the multi-channel audio compression standards. And it combines hi인-resolution filter bank prediction techniques, and Huffman coding algorithm to achieve the broadcast-quality audio level at very low data rates. The forward and inverse modified discrete transforms which are operated in the encoder and the decoder of the filter bank need many computations. In this paper, we propose suitable recursive structure at IMDCT processing for MPEG-2 AAC real-time decoder. We confirm the memory, the computation speed and complexity of the proposed structure.

Implementation of 4-channel Embedded DVR Based on Linux (리눅스 기반 4채널 임베디드 DVR 구현)

  • This paper describes the implementation of a 4 channel embedded DVR system. It receives analog video from CCD cameras and converts to 640${\times}$480 CCIR-656 digital video by 30 frames/sec. These digital images are compressed to the wevelet transformed image using hardware codec which is capable of 350:1 real-time compression and decompression. The DVR is working on linux and it implemented on an embedded system which is based on StrongARM processor. For the interface between processor system module and image processing module, GPIO and memory control module are used, device drivers are developed. Linux kernel source is customized. This paper provides techniques of embedded system development and embedded linux porting.

  • We propose a video chatting algorithm using MPEG-4 over Mobile IPv6. This real-time system transmits video and character data based on UDP. To send data efficiently within limited bandwidth, we use a standard multimedia compression algorithm, MPEG-4, that encodes video data and mobile IPv6 guarantees effective mobility. This system presents the example of the mobile multimedia applications that will be the solution for the next internet services.

  • This paper deals with the real-time monitoring and control system using PC, PDA(Win CE embedded device) and PCS(based BREW platform). The camera attached to the server captures the moving target, and the captured frame of color image is encoded in JPEG for image compression at the server. The client(PC, PDA, PCS) receives the image data from the remote server and the received image is decoded from decompression. We use the TCP/IP protocol to send the image frames. The client can control the position of the camera by sending the control command to the server. Two DC servo motors for the camera are controlled in any directions, up-down and left-right, by the controller which is communicating with the server via the serial communication to get the control command. In this way, on the client we can monitor the moving images at the server and also control the position of the camera.

  • The modern multimedia applications which are video processor, video conference or video phone and so forth require real time processing. Because of a large amount of image data, those require high compression performance. In this paper, the prosposed image processing encoder was designed by using wavelet transform encoding. The proposed filter block can process imae data on the high speed because of composing individual function blocks by parallel and compute both highpass and lowpass coefficient in the same clock cycle. When image data is decomposed into multiresolution, the proposed scheme needs external memory and controller to save intermediate results and it can operate within 33MHz.

  • Although digital image has many advantages including digital image compression and various image processing techniques, the it has the weakness of easy manipulation which led to the development of many digital watermarking techniques. There are various types of digital watermarking algorithms for spatial and spectral domains. This paper presents a watermarking implementation for H.264/AVC codec which is adapted for many multimedia standards.

  • The use of the A* for the path search of the agent in the game map gives the computational overhead in real time game processing. To solve this problem, the route table was presented for the 2D game This route table is made in the game development phase and utilized in game playing. The route table designed for 2D game is extended for 3D game in this paper. But the memory space is required too much. This Problem can also be solved using the data compression by skipping the duplicated route table.

  • The complete joining method for dissimilar press punch materials and its real-time evaluation method is not available at present. Brazing method has been used for joining them, but it is known that the welded joint by the brazing has the lower bonding efficiency and reliability than the diffusion welding. The friction welding with a diffusion mechanism in bonding was applied in this study. This work was carried out to determine the proper friction welding conditions and to analyze mechanical properties of friction welded joints of sintered carbide tool materials (SKNM50 for the blade part of press punch) to alloy steel (SCM440 for the shank part of press punch) using aluminum (A6061 for the interlayer material) as an insert material between the sintered carbide tool materials and the alloy steel. In addition, acoustic emission test was carried out during friction welding to evaluate the weld quality.

  • 최근 모든 내장형 응용들이 급속히 웹기반으로 바뀌어 가고 있다 사무자동화 과학의료 멀티미디어 보안시스템 등 망에 접속된 모든 최종사용자들은 같은 공간안에 접속된 모든 최종사용자들은 같은 공간안에 있는 같은 건물내에 있든 혹은 다른 도시에 위치하든 인터넷 이나 인트라넷에의 접속장치를 사용하게 된다 예를 들어 대형 출판물사업에서도 원고의 접수나 작업일정을 원격으로 처리하기 시작했고 새로운 의료장치들은 의사들이 원격지나 오지에 있는 환자의 상태를 웹을 통해 진단 할 수 있게 되었다 자동화된 건물이나 원격보안 시스템은 LAN이나 WAN 상에서 건물내의 모든 출입문을 상태를 감시할 수가 있게 되는 등 그 활용성은 무한하다. Agrant, Spyglass 그리고 프리웨어인 Apache 등 많은 내장형 서버 솔루션이 이미 HTTP 서버를 도입하고 있다 내장형 어플리케이션에서의 HTTP 서비스 CGI와 API, memory footprint HTML 및 applet compression OS threading model security 그리고 licensing등에 대해 알아본다.

Lightweight CNN-based Expression Recognition on Humanoid Robot

  • The human expression contains a lot of information that can be used to detect complex conditions such as pain and fatigue. After deep learning became the mainstream method, the traditional feature extraction method no longer has advantages. However, in order to achieve higher accuracy, researchers continue to stack the number of layers of the neural network, which makes the real-time performance of the model weak. Therefore, this paper proposed an expression recognition framework based on densely concatenated convolutional neural networks to balance accuracy and latency and apply it to humanoid robots. The techniques of feature reuse and parameter compression in the framework improved the learning ability of the model and greatly reduced the parameters. Experiments showed that the proposed model can reduce tens of times the parameters at the expense of little accuracy.
