Recent years, due to the direct or indirect damages caused by meteorological disasters more and more attention have been paid to natural disasters. At same time, diversified and multi-sensory interactive meteorological services is increasingly demanded. In this study, novel interactive meteorological service was compared with the traditional communication methods. Combining with case studies and systems creation, a virtual reality weather simulation framework was proposed, and a realistic virtual game environment providing real-time and historical weather information was created. The primary goal of this study is to build a weather display cabinet game system by using virtual reality technology, and promoting public's understanding of the principles of weather changes. With the interactive games in realistic scenarios, public's awareness for disasters prevention could be promoted. It is helping to change public's traditional understanding of meteorological theories, and will provide a more convenient way for the public to explore more effective weather forecasts. The simulation system is supported by VR technology. It was combined with Leap Motion interactive equipment to make popularization games for weather science. T-test data analysis showed that the application of VR technology in weather games has strong operability and interactivity.

The paper presents a framework for developing real-time multi-user board games and applications in augmented reality. Recently, increase the environment to playing game in augmented reality with advancement of computing ability improvement and wireless networking technique of mobile device. While the trend of utilizing this kind of games is creasing, the facts that there is a shortage of games whose contents are attractive to users. In this paper we propose a framework that enables game content developers to develop new game contents base on augmented reality easily and quickly. This framework is an automatic service that can augment in various methods by using the supported marker recognition service. Therefore game contents developers do not need to know about either augmented reality technique or the inner process structure. The framework also supports special functions and various interaction interfaces for augmented reality board game and components of the board game we can implement. These enable developers to accomplish all the necessary components and structures of the board game more easily.
The success or failure of the Korean game industry is a key issue for the creation of competent and talented human resources for the production of competent contents. The purpose of this study is to elucidate how to characterize and educate human - friendly game graphic designers with global competitiveness. The success of multi-disciplinary education will be maximized when cooperation with the responsible professors, the active will of the professor, the educational vision of the school, and real-time and active administration are supported In this study, based on the analysis of demand and supply of the human resources in the game industry, we found out that the game industry requires specialized manpower of technology-friendly game graphic designer who has the creativity, practical. application ability, and the international competency. In addition, we suggested ways of linking the curriculum with the local industries and related organizations such that they could be well educated as experts in related fields.
Advances in display technology, stereoscopic (S3D) in the development of social interest in the content development approach is high but it does not make the standardization of interactive 3D content creation performance is very poor. In this paper, real-time video input from an infrared camera that is based on eye tracking implementation user interface developed 3D interactive adventure game "HowSee" was the process of developing skills in the process, an efficient 3D content production methods were presented. unnormalized S3D-based game content production process on how this development occurred in the trial and how to troubleshoot S3D games, etc. to streamline content creation can be a basis for.
Differing from most of current studies which recognizing game item cash-trade as simple static system, this study approaches game item cash-trade as Complex Adaptive System through historical analysis. The item-trade is a complex phenomenon converging between cyber-economy and real-economy, and production and consumption process of game-item are evolving dynamically over time. The results are following: first, the early item-trade emerges in endogenously rather than results from purposed system designed by singular actor. Second, after the early item-trade, the trade system as a CAS which various voluntary actors(single user, factory, game company, user community, agency, etc.) participates in is self-organizing for trading safety and efficiency. Third, the complex adaptive item-trade system satisfies actor's needs interdependently and accelerate positive feedback powerfully. This study implies that purposeful control disregarding emergent adaptive item-trade system distorts system efficiency and can lead to unintended policy failure.
We cannot load the entire data for high-resolution terrain model to the GPU memory since its size is too big. Out-of-core approaches are commonly used to solve the problem. However, due to limited bandwidth of the secondary storage, it is difficult to render the terrain in real-time. A method that compresses the DEM data with wavelet transform on GPU, and renders the decoded data is suggested. However, it is inefficient since it has to sample the values from textures, convert them to vertices, and generate a mesh periodically. We propose a method to store the approximation coefficients of wavelet compression as vertex attributes and render the terrain by decoding the data on geometric shader. It can reduce the amount of transferring terrain texture since approximation coefficients are given as an attribute of the vertex. Also, it generate meshes without additional upload of terrain texture.
Ray tracing is one of the classical global illumination methods to generate a photo-realistic rendering image with various lighting effects such as reflection and refraction. However, there are some restrictions on real-time applications because of its computation load. In order to overcome these limitations, many researches of the ray tracing based on GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) have been presented up to now. In this paper, we implement the ray tracing algorithm by J. Purcell and combine it with two methods in order to improve the rendering performance for interactive applications. First, intersection points of the primary ray are determined efficiently using rasterization on graphics hardware. We then construct the acceleration structure of 3D objects to improve the rendering performance. There are few researches on a detail analysis of improved performance by these considerations in ray tracing rendering. We compare the rendering system with environment mapping based on GPU and implement the wireless remote rendering system. This system is useful for interactive applications such as the realtime composition, augmented reality and virtual reality.
In the past, mosaics were made by laying cloth on the floor and manually tiling the tiles. However, due to recent developments in technology, the data storage method has evolved from analog to digital, so that image representation and conversion can be realized through computer. Also, various expression techniques of mosaic are developed, and it is also used as a method of art representation in digital. There are various studies on the production process of mosaic. The proposed method is a crystallization mosaic that spreads spirally in real time and uses 3D quartz as a tile element. Although existing researches are mostly focused on the purpose of rendering images in more detail, this technique combines untried spiral drawing and crystallization, and attempts to explore new expression techniques in 3D space by attempting a new mosaic method in 3D space. 'Spiral Crystallization Photo', based on this technique, was selected as Top27 in MWU Award 18 and exhibited at Unite Seoul 2018.
Brain-Machine Interfaces(BMI) are interfaces that control machines by decoding brainwaves, which are electrical signals generated from neural activities. Although BMIs can be applied in various fields, their widespread usage is hindered by the low portability of the hardware required for brainwave measurement and decoding. To address this issue, previous research proposed a brain-machine interface system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) using cloud computing. In this study, we developed and tested an application that uses brainwaves to control the Pong game, demonstrating the real-time usability of the system. The results showed that users of the proposed BMI achieved scores comparable to optimal control artificial intelligence in real-time Pong game matches. Thus, this research suggests that IoT-based brain-machine interfaces can be utilized in a variety of real-time applications in everyday life.
We propose a real time user interface that utilizes emotion recognition by physiological signals. To improve the problem that was low accuracy of emotion recognition through the traditional EEG(ElectroEncephaloGram), We developed a physiological signals-based emotion recognition system mixing relative power spectrum values of theta/alpha/beta/gamma EEG waves and autonomic nerve signal ratio of ECG (ElectroCardioGram). We propose both a data map and weight value modification algorithm to recognize six emotions of happy, fear, sad, joy, anger, and hatred. The datamap that stores the user-specific probability value is created and the algorithm updates the weighting to improve the accuracy of emotion recognition corresponding to each EEG channel. Also, as we compared the results of the EEG/ECG bio-singal complex data and single data consisting of EEG, the accuracy went up 23.77%. The proposed interface system with high accuracy will be utillized as a useful interface for controlling the game spaces and smart spaces.
