Implementation of Real-time Monitoring System for Marine Elevator using Smart Sensors (스마트 센서를 이용한 선박용 승강기 실시간 모니터링 시스템의 구현)

  • Elevator industry is a field that is mechanical, electrical and electronic technology and constantly requires inspection and maintenance considering various applications and various types. Recently, various elevator control and monitoring technologies with IT are developing for elevators on land. But technologies with IT have been hardly done in marine elevator that is consistently assured safety and reliability of life cycle for its parts in poor environment. In this paper, we implemented embedded main controller, floor controller and car controller that meet the requirements and use NMEA network protocol by analyzing home and abroad integrated elevator operation and management systems. Especially, we secured reliability of maintenance by real-time fault diagnosis and control that was implemented with limit switch, gyro sensor, temperature/humidity/barometric pressure sensor and fire detection sensor thinking over the environmental conditions of terrestrial and marine elevator.

  • This paper is about the implementation of MyTalk, an instant messaging system, which supports human-human and human-thing communication. It consists of agents which are representatives of communication entities, and agent windows for user interfaces. Users can communicate with their buddies, and monitor and control remote "things" and devices with MyTalk. We also introduce the concept of agent window, which provides the most suitable GUIs (text, form, graph etc) for communication. Currently, MyTalk supports ordering goods, controlling devices like printers, monitoring sensors, managing applications, and real-time talk. Furthermore, we can extend it to application platform for remote monitoring, remote controlling, and real time cooperation.

  • We propose an adaptive monitoring a, pp.oach for serially correlated data. This algorithm uses the adaptive linear prediction lattice filter (ALPLF) which makes it compute process parameters in real time and recursively update their estimates. It involves computation of the forward and backward prediction errors. CUSUM control charts are a, pp.ied to prediction errors simulaneously in both directions as an omnibus method for detecting changes in process parameters. Results of computer simulations demonstrate that the proposed adaptive monitoring a, pp.oach has great potentials for real-time industrial a, pp.ications, which vary frequently in their control environment.

  • In this paper, we present a real-time remote patient monitoring service through world-wide web, which allows the medical doctor to monitor his patients in remote sites using popular web browsers. The real-time service consists of two services: Patient Locator Service (PLS) and Vital Sign Monitoring Service (VSMS). The PLS provides the information of patients currently being monitored. The VSMS allows the user to observe a stream of vital sign data of a specific patient. The vital sign data include ECG, respiration, temperature, $SPO_2$, invasive blood pressure and non-invasive blood pressure.

  • Welding using lasers can be mass-produced in high speed. In the laser welding, performing real-time monitoring system of the welding quality is very important in enhancing the efficiency of welding. In this study, the plasma and molten metal which are generated during laser welding were measured using the UV sensor and IR sensors. The results of laser welding were classified into five categories such as optimal heat input, little low heat input, low heat input, partial joining due to gap mismatch, and nozzle deviation. Also, a system was formulated which uses the measured signals with a fuzzy pattern recognition method which is used to perform real-time evaluation of the welding quality and the defects which can occur in laser welding.

  • Currently, wired gables have been installed or portable storage devices have been installed for data acquisition of flying drone. In this paper, we propose a technology to transmit data wirelessly by sensing information such as battery discharge value, acceleration, and temperature by attaching RF sensor to a drone. The purpose of this paper is to design and develop the monitoring technology of agriculture drone battery usage in real time using RF sensor. In this paper, we propose a monitoring system that can check real time data of battery changed value, temperature, and acceleration during pesticide control activity of agricultural drone.

  • Recently, it is a trend to construct high rise buildings or wide-span bridges by using High Strength Concrete (HSC). But the HSC is going to be susceptible to brittle fractures if it has not taken enough curing process. Therefore, this study proposes a real-time online monitoring technology using piezoelectric sensors for more reliable and economical monitoring of the curing process of the HSC.

  • Recently, with the rapid growth of information technology, many studies have been performed to implement web-based manufacturing system. Such technologies are expected to meet the need of many manufacturing industries those want to adopt E-manufacturing system for the construction of globalization, agility, digitalization to cope with the rapid changing market requirements. In this research, areal-time web-based machine tool and machining process monitoring system is developed as a first step fur implementing I-manufacturing system. In this system, main spindle motor current and feed current are measured using hall sensors. And the relationship between the cutting force and the spindle motor RMS current at various spindle rotational speed is obtained. Also, a rule-based expert system is developed in order to monitor the machining process effectively. Finally, developed system is applied to real machining process to verify the effectiveness.

  • Through the development of phasor measurement units (PMU), various aspects of power system dynamic behavior could be monitored and diagnosed. Monitoring dynamic voltage stability becomes one of achievements we can obtain from PMUs. It is very important to select the method appropriate to the KEPCO system since there are many voltage stability indices. In the paper, we propose an advanced WAVI (Wide Area Voltage Stability) for monitoring dynamic voltage stability. It reflects the PMU installation plan of KEPCO, thus it is suitable for KEPCO system specially. The salient features of the proposed index are; i) it uses only PMU measurements without coupling with EMS data. ii) it is computationally unburden so that it can be applied to real-time situation. The proposed index is applied to the KEPCO test system and the result shows that it successfully predicts voltage instability through the comparative studies.

  • The Photovoltaic(PV) generation system is a promising source of energy for the future. Since the need for renewable energy has been increased, the research of PV generation system has also been progressed. The main subject of this paper is about making the more useful real-time monitoring program to get and save the data from photovoltaic generation system of 30kW grid-connected. Therefore, it uses LabView for this real-time monitoring program.
