Controller Area Network 의 실시간 서비스 품질 향상을 위한 동적 ID 할당 알고리즘 개발 (Development of Dynamic ID Allocation Algorithm for Real-time Quality-of-Service of Controller Area Network)

  • Recently CAN (Controller Area Network) is widely used as an in-vehicle networking protocol for intelligent vehicle. The identifier field (ID) of CAN is used not only to differentiate the messages but also to give different priorities to access the bus. This paper presents a dynamic 10 allocation algorithm in order to enhance the real-time quality-of-service (QoS) performance. When the network traffic is increased, this algorithm can allocate a network resource to lower priority message without degradation of the real-time QoS performance of higher priority message. In order to demonstrate the algorithm's feasibility, message transmission delays have been measured with and without the algorithm on an experimental network test bed.

하천수질관리를 위한 시험유역의 운영 (Operation of an Experimental Watershed for River Water Quality Management)

  • 본 연구에서는 하천에서의 흐름과 수질변화를 실시간으로 감시할 수 있는 수문 수질관측시스템을 구축하고자 한다. 이를 통해 하천에서의 오염사고에 대비한 수질감시와 수질변화를 모의할 수 있는 하천관리시스템을 구축하고자 한다. 횡성댐 상류 계천 유역에 시험유역을 선정하였으며, 보다 정확한 수문 및 수질자료를 얻기 위해 우량관측소 3개소, 수위관측소 3개소 및 수질관측소 1개소를 설치하여 실시간 수문 수질관측시스템을 운영하고 있다. 이와 같이 구축된 관측시스템을 통해 강우량, 수위, 유속, 유량 및 수질 등과 같은 자료들을 축적하고, 다양한 분야의 활용을 위해 자유롭게 공개함으로써 관측자료에 대한 활용도를 높이고자 한다.

Nonlinear Quality Indices Based on a Novel Lempel-Ziv Complexity for Assessing Quality of Multi-Lead ECGs Collected in Real Time

  • We compared a novel encoding Lempel-Ziv complexity (ELZC) with three common complexity algorithms i.e., approximate entropy (ApEn), sample entropy (SampEn), and classic Lempel-Ziv complexity (CLZC) so as to determine a satisfied complexity and its corresponding quality indices for assessing quality of multi-lead electrocardiogram (ECG). First, we calculated the aforementioned algorithms on six artificial time series in order to compare their performance in terms of discerning randomness and the inherent irregularity within time series. Then, for analyzing sensitivity of the algorithms to content level of different noises within the ECG, we investigated their change trend in five artificial synthetic noisy ECGs containing different noises at several signal noise ratios. Finally, three quality indices based on the ELZC of the multi-lead ECG were proposed to assess the quality of 862 real 12-lead ECGs from the MIT databases. The results showed the ELZC could discern randomness and the inherent irregularity within six artificial time series, and also reflect content level of different noises within five artificial synthetic ECGs. The results indicated the AUCs of three quality indices of the ELZC had statistical significance (>0.500). The ELZC and its corresponding three indices were more suitable for multi-lead ECG quality assessment than the other three algorithms.

키-프레임 기반 실시간 유체 시뮬레이션 (Key-Frame Based Real-Time Fluid Simulations)

  • 물리기반 유체 애니메이션 시스템들이 시각 특수효과 산업계에서 빠르게 발전하고 있고, 이를 이용해 매우 높은 화질의 영상을 제작하는 것이 가능하게 되었다. 그러나 컴퓨터 게임과 같은 실시간 응용 분야의 경우, 화질보다는 시뮬레이션 속도가 더 중요한 문제이다. 본 논문은 프로그래머블 그래픽스 파이프라인을 이용하여 유체에 대한 애니메이션을 수행하는 실시간 기법에 대해 설명한다. 두 개의 키-프레임이 주어졌을 때, 본 기법을 이용하여 원시 프레임으로부터 목적 프레임으로 변하는 연속 영상을 대화식으로 생성할 수 있음을 보인다.

영상의 지역성을 이용한 보간 영상의 화질 개선 기법 (Quality Improvement Scheme of Interpolated Image using the Locality)

  • In the case of image magnification by using interpolation methods, interpolated pixels are estimated from the known pixels in source image. The magnified image is composed of the known pixels in source image and the interpolated pixels which is estimated. If the interpolated pixels are estimated to have the locality which is exists in real images, the magnified image is much closer to the real image. In this paper, an improved interpolation scheme is proposed to estimate pixels from the known pixels in source image using the locality which is exists in real images. The magnified image by using the proposed interpolation scheme is much closer to the real image. The performance of the proposed interpolation scheme is evaluated by using PSNR(Peak Signal to Noise Ratio) in experiment. The PSNR of the magnified image by using the proposed scheme is improved than that of the magnified images by using existing interpolation methods. So, the proposed interpolation scheme is an efficient interpolation method for the quality improvement of magnified image.

  • We have developed m innovative surface inspection system for automated quality control for steel products in POSCO. We had ever installed the various kinds of surface inspection systems, such as a linear CCD and a laser typed surface inspection systems at cold rolled strips production lines. But, these systems cannot fulfill the sufficient detection and classification rate, and real time processing performance. In order to increase detection and classification rate, we have used the Dark, Bright and Transition Field illumination and area type CCD camera, and fur the real time image processing, parallel computing has been used. In this paper, we introduced the automatic surface inspection system and real time image processing technique using the Object Detection, Defect Detection, Classification algorithms and its performance obtained at the production line.

지하철 역사 실내 공기질 관리를 위한 실용적 PM10 실시간 예측 (A Practical Approach to the Real Time Prediction of PM10 for the Management of Indoor Air Quality in Subway Stations)

  • The real time IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) management is very important for large buildings and underground facilities such as subways because poor IAQ is immediately harmful to human health. Such IAQ management requires monitoring, prediction and control in an integrated and real time manner. In this paper, we present three PM10 hourly prediction models for such realtime IAQ management as both Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) models. Both MLR and ANN models show good performances between 0.76 and 0.88 with respect to R (correlation coefficient) between the measured and predicted values, but the MLR models outperform the corresponding ANN models with respect to RMSE (root mean square error).

  • The need for video diagnosis in medicine has been increased and real-time transfer of digital video will be an important component in PACS and telemedicine. But, Network environment has certain limitations that the required throughput can not satisfy quality of service (QoS). MPEG-4 ratified as a moving video standard by the ISO/IEC provides very efficient video coding covering the various ranges of low bit-rate in network environment. We implemented MPEG-4 CODEC (coder/decoder) and applied various compression ratios to moving ultrasound images. These images were displayed in random order on a client monitor passed through network. Radiologists determined subjective opinion scores for evaluating clinically acceptable image quality and then these were statistically processed in the t-Test method. Moreover the MPEG-4 decoded images were quantitatively analyzed by computing peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) to objectively evaluate image quality. The bit-rate to maintain clinically acceptable image quality was up to 0.8Mbps. We successfully implemented the adaptive throughput or bit-rate relative to the image quality of ultrasound sequences used MPEG-4 that can be applied for diagnostic performance in real-time.

실시간 지진데이터 품질향상을 위한 연구 (A Study on the Quality Improvement of Real-Time Earthquake Data)

  • 최근 우리나라에서도 지진 발생빈도가 급격히 증가하면서 지진에 대한 관심도가 높아지고 있다. 지진발생 시 대응과 복구도 중요하지만, 관리 취약점을 사전에 찾아내어 예방 및 사전 대비 활동을 수행하는 것이 필요하다. 한국수자원공사에서는 지진으로부터 안전한 시설관리를 위해 지진가속도계측기를 운영하여 실시간 지진데이터를 수집하고 있으며, 대외기관에서 지진데이터를 활용할 수 있도록 데이터를 전송하고 있다. 운영 중인 지진감시시스템의 관리 취약점을 사전에 줄이고자 지진데이터의 수집지연시간을 최소화하고, 빅데이터를 활용한 지진데이터의 실시간 품질분석 체계·기반 구축으로 고품질의 데이터 생산이 가능하다. 이에 따라 댐 안전관리 및 고품질의 지진데이터를 확보하여 대외기관에 신속한 데이터를 제공함으로써 지진재해로부터 국민의 생명과 재산을 보호할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
