Abacus numerals were developed using the concept of the binary system to form decimal numerals. This would allow addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to be performed based solely on the knowledge of the 14 forms of the numerals and three simple rules. These numerals were taught to 260 elementary school pupils of 3rd and 4th grade. After 90 minutes of instruction, they, nearly all, were able to understand principles to add, and to subtract, and partly to multiply using Abacus Numerals. Protected Abacus Numerals are proposed against forgery. An International Numeration System is proposed based on the form of Abacus Numerals to facilitate international communication. A new type of abacus is proposed.

For the purpose of decreasing the chair time in implant cases, the time needed to loosening and fastening the screw must be shortened. Nowadays, the two typical designs of screw head are slot and hexa form. This study aimed at the shortening of loosening and fastening time by modifying the slot and hexa form. Total of twelve dentists participate in these experiments, four of them were experienced and eight of them were novice dentists. 1. There were many differences in the speeds of screw loosening and fastening between personal experiences. Experienced dentists are faster than novice dentists. 2. There were many differences in the speeds by angulation of the implant, by the conditions of the muscle tonicity. 3. Revised slot and hexa Heads show the slightly shortened time for acrew looseing and fastening.

The Capacity Spectrum Method (CSM) was first introduced in the 1970's as rapid evaluation procedure. The procedure compares the capacity of the structure (in the form of a pushover curve) with the demands on the structure (in the form of a response spectrum). The graphical intersection of the two curves approximates the response of the structure. In order to account for nonlinear inelastic behavior of the structural system, effective ductility ratios(μ) are applied to the elastic-linear response spectrum to imitate an inelastic response spectrum. CSM in ATC-40 has deficiencies such as performance point does not converge and the peak deformation of inelastic systems is to be inaccurate when compared against results of nonlinear response history analysis. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the variation of performance points of Capacity Spectrum Method (CSM) are investigated with respect to the different sets of earthquake ground motions. The earthquake sets were used in this study selected by Miranda(1993), Riddell(1991), Seed et al. (1976).

Known as "The Ninth Form of Art", video game is a form of hypermedia art rising in response to the rapid development of modern technology, with millions of fans worldwide. From the perspective of the game market, those games that have high stickiness and a long operating cycle usually have abundant doujin works. As a spontaneous behavior of the players, doujin culture reflects the players' feelings towards and perception of the games, and it reacts upon the original game while relying on it, exerting a far-reaching influence on the operation of game products. We try to analyze the influences of doujin culture on game operation performance, hoping to provide game operators with some useful ideas.

This paper describes a basic programming and interfacing modele which can link DataBase form experiments and dynamic analysis program of chock absorber within the limit of adequate reliability. The system developed can provid a user specific Database of shock absorber within the required damping performance and endurable tolerance, thus show a good application possibilities in commercial vehicle design.

Organic mercurial fungicides, for seed treatments and dust formulations, has been increasingly used by farmers. Evaluation of the purity of organic mercurial fungicides has been performed by precipitation method at this laboratory. There are several methods for the an alyses of organic mercuric formulation, among which are (1) Precipitation met hod, (2) Volatilization method, (3) Volumetric method, and (4) Dithizon method. These methods, however, show some deffects in specificity (differentiation of organic form) and quantitativity. Polarography applied for the estimation of phenyl mercuric acetate was found to be simple, rapid and accurate. Tile fundamental method of polarography arid accuracy of analysis are discussed statistically and a satisfactory results was obtained.

In the recent years, significant advances have been made in the development of small form-factor, low power, and low cost 3D-sensing devices based on depth-imaging technologies with real-time performance. This has led to the advent of devices and machines that are able to sense and understand the world, navigate in the environment, and interact naturally with their human users. Human-computer interactions based on touch sensing and speech recognition have already become mainstream, and the rapid developments in 3D sensing is paving the path towards the next level of machine intelligence and interactions. This paper discusses the recent developments in real-time 3D sensing technologies and their emerging system application.

The graft copolymer consisting of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAAm) and single-stranded DNA was prepared. Interestingly, the copolymer was found to form nanoparticles above physiological temperature. We found that non-crosslinking aggregation of the nanoparticles was induced by the hybridization of the surface-bound DNA with the full-match complementary DNA, but not with one-base mismatch. The core material is not restricted to PNIPAAm; DNA-functionalized gold nanoparticle was found to show a similar aggregation induced only by the fully-complementary DNA, resulting in rapid color change within 3 min at ambient temperature. This methodology is general in principle and applicable for wide variety of clinical gene diagnosis.

In this study radio rotatiing field is used in order to form the stable reversed field configuration. The experimental study removing the flux conserving ring not so as to conserve toroidal flux, it was found that there occurred a rapid formation of a stable reversed field configuration, in which toroidal flux was increased shaping reversed field configuration and F-$\Theta$ locus traced close to BFM because it started below F value.
