  • A cross-flow fan often generates discrete noise call blade passing frequency tones. Several methods have been investigated to reduce this BPF noise, where the random distribution of blades is the most promising one. A simple and effective algorithm to determine a random distribution of blades is proposed which considers fan. performance as well as noise characteristics. The proposed method is verified by a simple numerical model and is applied in manufacturing cross-flow fan samples. Also some experiments are carried out and the experimental results are analyzed.

  • Let's say that we are given a k number of random variables following Poisson distribution that are individually dependent and which forms multivariate Poisson distribution. We particularly dealt with a method of creating random numbers that satisfies the covariance matrix, where the elements of covariance matrix are parameters forming a multivariate Poisson distribution. To create such random numbers, we propose a new algorithm based on the method reducing the number of parameter set and deal with its relationship to the Park et al.(1996) algorithm used in creating multivariate Bernoulli random numbers.

  • The theory of fuzzy random variables and fuzzy stochastic processes has been received much attentions in recent years. But convergence in distribution for fuzzy random variables has not established yet. In this talk, we restrict our concerns to level-wise continuous fuzzy random variables and obtain some characterizations of its tightness and convergence in distribution.

  • The main goal of this paper is to study an extension of random summations of independent and identically distributed random variables when the number of summands in random summation is a partial sum of n independent, identically distributed, non-negative integer-valued random variables. Some characterizations of random summations are considered. The central limit theorems and weak law of large numbers for extended random summations are established. Some weak limit theorems related to geometric random sums, binomial random sums and negative-binomial random sums are also investigated as asymptotic behaviors of extended random summations.

  • 풍파가 그 생위영역을 벗어나 전이해 갈 경우 스펙트럼의 폭은 side band instability 등으로 인해 증가하게 되는데 이 경우 비선형불규칙파의 추계학적 성질에 대해서는 거의 규명된 바 없으나 간략화된 Longuet-Higgins의 파랑모형을 토대로 비선형 불규칙파의 파봉에 대한 확률밀도함수를 유도하였으며 모의 결과 스펙트럼 폭이 peak의 분포에 지대한 영향을 미치며 비선형의 정도가 심화될 경우 유의파고는 증가하는 것으로 밝혀졌다.

  • It is well known that distribution of functions of eigen values and vectors of a certain matrix plays an important role in multivariate analysis. This paper deals with the transformation of a correlation-type random matrix to its eigen values and vectors. Properties of the transformation are also considered. The results obtained are applied to express the joint distribution of eigen values and vectors of the correlation matrix when sample is taken from a m-variate spherical distribution.

  • The exponential and the gamma distributions have been the traditional models for drought duration and drought intensity data, respectively. However, it is often assumed that the drought duration and drought intensity are independent, which is not true in practice. In this paper, an application of the bivariate gamma exponential distribution is provided to drought data from Nebraska. The exact distributions of R=X+Y, P=XY and W=X/(X+Y) and the corresponding moment properties are derived when X and Y follow this bivariate distribution.

  • Sums of independent random variables $S_n = X_1 + X_ + cdots + X_n$ are considered, where the X$_{n}$ are chosen according to a stationary process of distributions. Given the time t .geq. O, let N (t) be the number of indices n for which O < $S_n$ $\geq$ t. In this set up we prove that N (t)/t converges almost surely and in $L^1$ as t longrightarrow $\infty$, which generalizes classical renewal theorem.m.

평균응력이 AZ31 마그네슘합금의 렌덤진전균열크기 확률분포에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Mean Stress on Probability Distribution of Random Grown Crack size in Magnesium Alloy AZ31)

  • In this paper the mean stress effects on the probability distribution of the random grown crack size at a specified loading cycle are studied through the fatigue crack propagation tests, which are conducted on the specimens of magnesium alloy under four different stress ratios. Through 80 replicates the probability distributions of the grown crack size are obtained. The goodness-of-fit for probability distributions of the random grown crack size are investigated by Anderson-Darling test and the best fit for those probability distributions is found to be a 3-parameter Weibull distribution. The effects of the mean stress on the probability distribution of the random grown crack size are also estimated.

  • It is shown that a lattice distribution defined on a set of n lattice points $L(n,\delta) = {\delta,\delta+1,...,\delta+n-1}$ is a distribution induced from the distribution of convolution of independently and identically distributed (i.i.d.) uniform [0,1] random variables. Also the m-th moment of the lattice distribution is obtained in a quite different approach from Park and Chung (1978). It is verified that the distribution of the sum of n i.i.d. uniform [0,1] random variables is completely determined by the lattice distribution on $L(n,\delta)$ and the uniform distribution on [0,1]. The factorial mement generating function, factorial moments, and moments are also obtained.
