In this case of "Seongnam~Yeoju double-lanes railroad construction", there were resident houses and gas pipe which were concerned about damages from vibration and noise. Especially, gas pipe which is a diameter of ${\varphi}500mm$ was located under the ground along upside road. The limit of vibration was 1.0cm/sec to protect gas pipe. The electronic blasting systems have been used to control vibration & noise not only gas pipe but also resident houses. The results of tunnelling were successfully conducted with effective vibration control and quick excavation by electronic blasting without any damages to adjacent facilities.
It proceed the trial test by applying blasting system with combination of electronic detonator and non-electric detonator(Supex Blasting Method) for the purpose of preventing the over-break as well as controling the blasting vibration and noisy at the site of Boseong-Imseongri railroad section ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$. As a result of that, the blasting vibration and noisy was measured within the allowable standard of vibration. In conclusion, the combination of electronic detonator and non-electric detonator can not only reduce come construction cost, level of vibration and noisy but also get the prevention effect for Public resentment and minimize the rock-damage through over break control.
Numerical analysis of aerodynamic characteristics was differently performed according to the running situation of the Korean Tilting Train eXpress (TTX) that would be introduced for an improvement in efficiency of the used railroad track. Fluent6.0 was used for the analysis of Non-tilting case, Tilting case and Passing-by case with the model of TTX. As a result, the aerodynamic drag had little difference between Tilting and Non-tilting case. However, pressure contour under the train of Tilting case was not symmetry because the gap between a train and the ground was different at both sides. And this disparity of pressure worked on the side force. In Passing-by case attraction and counterattraction occurred alternately and affected to the opposite train. When two trains were side by side, the maximum attraction was generated especially. Through an analysis of pressure wave in tunnel a large variation of pressure was generated by the bluff nose of TTX. The results in this study would be good data for the aerodynamic characteristic on TTX and provide important information to judgment of running safety.

This paper presents key findings obtained from the numerical experiment investigating into the use of the cylindrical cavity for rock splitting operations. The stress and strain path analyses were carried out in order to provide a better insight into the crack formation. The principal stress analysis carried out along the crack line using the results obtained from these numerical analyses allowed the failure of the brittle material and the crack propagation to be investigated. This paper also suggested possible reasons for the change in crack direction observed during the rock splitting operations using the results obtained.

Excepting tunnel of dorimstream - ccachimountain station section, the subway line No.2th section was build using ASSM and NATM methods because of soil pressure and land condition. The way of dealing underground water was selected without sufficient preconsideration of geographical features, ground condition, influence of lowing underground water, and long-term cost of running maintenance so that the form of undrained tunnel was build having decreased construction characteristics and technically improper elements. The form of partial drainage is very difficult to manage structures of tunnel, because water leakage, water pressure causing cracks of lining concretes and scaling are constantly happened. so partial drainage suggest that setting reinforced Anchor Bolt to prevent buoyancy and should increase center drainage way up to height of railroad. Partial drainage suggest that holey pipe(${\phi}$350mm) manhole, drainage checking pipe manhole are should be regularly dredged, when changing roadbed(gravel${\rightarrow}$concrete) drainage checking pipe manhole should be build and setting a limitation of entering underground water's quantities. Beside drainage degree in changed section of structures causing instability of structures is continuous degree. so if efficient drainage way and the patterns of flaws, problems are considered in survey, it will be expected to have a advantage condition in maintenance part.

Currently, road tunnels and railroad tunnels are building smoke control systems to emit toxic gases and smoke from fires. Among the various smoke control systems, the transverse smoke control system has the disadvantage that air supply or exhaust is performed on only half of the cross-section, rather than air supply or exhaust on the entire cross-section of the tunnel as air is supplied or exhausted by partitioning the wind path. Therefore, this study analyzed the effect of exhaustion through numerical analysis and scaled model tests on the zoning smoke control system, which improved the limitations of the transverse smoke control system. As a result of the scaled model test, the transverse ventilation system exhibited a 25.6% smoke control rate based on the state where no smoke was controled, and zoning smoke control system showed a smoke control rate of 40.8%. In addition, as a result of numerical analysis, it was found that transverse ventilation system did not control fire smoke spreading from the tunnel and continued to spread. On the other hand, zoning smoke control system was found to be smoke controled within a certain section due to the air curtain effect and the flue gas effect.

If human skin is exposed to high concentrations of particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10) for a long time in the outdoor environment such as subway tunnel, it will be adversely affected. In particular, fine particles can damage the skin, causing inflammation and allergic reactions. This study investigated the ability of evening primrose root (EEPR) extract to suppress the skin damages caused by the fine particles. PM was collected from a subway tunnel, where high concentrations have been reported per day over the course of a study. The EEPR had higher antioxidant activity than that of control group (62.6%). The mixture of EEPR and PM inhibited the production of nitric oxide (NO), thereby alleviating skin inflammation caused by fine particle dust. EEPR had weaker cytotoxic activity than the positive control. When cells were exposed to particulate-type dust (PM10), the levels of free radicals were decreased with the increased concentrations of the extract (5, 10, 20 ㎍/mL). While at the same time more effective than positive controls. Therefore, this study proved that the Moonlight flower root extract can be used as a cosmetic material for skin by providing an effect to alleviate skin damage caused by fine particle-type dust.

In present, the Seoul City is undergoing traffic congestion problems caused by rapid urbanization and population growth. Thus the City government has reorganized the mass transportation system since 2004 and the subway has become a very important means for public transit. Since the subway system is typically a closed environment, the indoor air quality issues have often raised by the public. Especially since a huge amount of PM (particulate matter) is emitted from ground tunnels passing through the subway train, it is now necessary to assess the characteristics and behaviors of fine PM inside the tunnel. In this study, the concentration patterns of $PM_1$, $PM_{2.5}$, and $PM_{10}$ in the Seoul subway line-2 were analyzed by real-time measurement during winter (Jan 13, 2015) and summer (Aug 7, 2015). The line-2 consisting of 51 stations is the most busy circular line in Seoul having the railway of 60.2 km length. The the one-day average $PM_{10}$ concentrations were $148{\mu}g/m^3$ in winter and $66.3{\mu}g/m^3$ in summer and $PM_{2.5}$ concentrations were $118{\mu}g/m^3$ and $58.5{\mu}g/m^3$, respectively. The $PM_{2.5}/PM_{10}$ ratio in the underground tunnel was lower than the outdoor ratio and also the ratio in summer is higher than in winter. Further the study examined structural types of underground subsections to explain the patterns of elevated PM concentrations in the line-2. The subsections showing high PM concentration have longer track, shorter curvature radius, and farther from the outdoor stations. We also estimated the outdoor PM concentrations near each station by a spatial statistical analysis using the $PM_{10}$ data obtained from the 40 Seoul Monitoring Sites, and further we calculated $PM_{2.5}/PM_{10}$ and $PM_1/PM_{10}$ mass ratios near the outdoor subway stations by using our observed outdoor $PM_1$, $PM_{2.5}$, and $PM_{10}$ data. Finally, we could develop pollution maps for outdoor $PM_1$ and $PM_{2.5}$ near the line-2 by using the kriging method in spatial analysis. This methodology may help to utilize existing $PM_{10}$ database when managing and control fine particle problems in Korea.
This study examined structural analysis of supports in tunnel and displacement and underground stress of tunnel by measurement, in order to evaluate the performance of high-strength lattice girders developed as a substitute for H-profiles. According to the three-dimensional nonlinear structural analysis results of the tunnel support, the load and displacement relationship between the H-profiles and the high-strength lattice girders showed almost the same behavior, and the maximum load of the high-strength lattice girders were 1.0 to 1.2 times greater than the H-profiles. By the results of the three-dimensional tunnel cross-section analysis of the supports, the axial force was occurred largely in the lower left and right sides of the tunnel, and showed a similar trend to the field test values. In the results of the measurement of the roof settlement and rod extension, the final displacement of the steel arch rib (H-profile) and high-strength lattice girder section in tunnel was converged to a constant value without significant difference within the first management standard of 23.5 mm. According to the results of underground displacement measurement, the final change amount of the two support sections showed a slight displacement change, but converged to a constant value within the first management standard of 10 mm. By the results of measurement of shotcrete stress and steel arch rib stress, the final change amount of the two support sections showed a slight stress change, but converged to a constant value within the first management standard of 81.1 kg/㎠ and 54.2 tonf.
