In this paper, we study the joint radio and computational resource allocation in the ultra-dense mobile-edge computing networks. In which, the scenario which including both computation offloading and communication service is discussed. That is, some mobile users ask for computation offloading, while the others ask for communication with the minimum communication rate requirements. We formulate the problem as a joint channel assignment, power control and computational resource allocation to minimize the offloading cost of computing offloading, with the precondition that the transmission rate of communication nodes are satisfied. Since the formulated problem is a mixed-integer nonlinear programming (MINLP), which is NP-hard. By leveraging the particular mathematical structure of the problem, i.e., the computational resource allocation variable is independent with other variables in the objective function and constraints, and then the original problem is decomposed into a computational resource allocation subproblem and a joint channel assignment and power allocation subproblem. Since the former is a convex programming, the KKT (Karush-Kuhn-Tucker) conditions can be used to find the closed optimal solution. For the latter, which is still NP-hard, is further decomposed into two subproblems, i.e., the power allocation and the channel assignment, to optimize alternatively. Finally, two heuristic algorithms are proposed, i.e., the Co-channel Equal Power allocation algorithm (CEP) and the Enhanced CEP (ECEP) algorithm to obtain the suboptimal solutions. Numerical results are presented at last to verify the performance of the proposed algorithms.
A radio-frequency identification(RFID) tag is a small, inexpensive microchip that emits an identifier in response to a query from a nearby reader. The price of these tags promises to drop to the range of $0.05 per unit in the next several years, offering a viable and powerful replacement for barcodes. The challenge in providing security for low-cost RFID tags is that they are computationally weak devices, unable to perform even basic symmetric-key cryptographic operations. Security researchers often therefore assume that good privacy protection in RFID tags is unattainable. In this paper, we explore a notion of minimalist cryptography suitable for RFID tags. We consider the type of security obtainable in RFID devices with a small amount of rewritable memory, but very limited computing capability. Our aim is to show that standard cryptography is not necessary as a starting point for improving security of very weak RFID devices. Our contribution is threefold: 1. We propose a new formal security model for authentication and privacy in RFID tags. This model takes into account the natural computational limitations and the likely attack scenarios for RFID tags in real-world settings. It represents a useful divergence from standard cryptographic security modeling, and thus a new view of practical formalization of minimal security requirements for low-cost RFID-tag security. 2. We describe protocol that provably achieves the properties of authentication and privacy in RFID tags in our proposed model, and in a good practical sense. Our proposed protocol involves no computationally intensive cryptographic operations, and relatively little storage. 3. Of particular practical interest, we describe some reduced-functionality variants of our protocol. We show, for instance, how static pseudonyms may considerably enhance security against eavesdropping in low-cost RFID tags. Our most basic static-pseudonym proposals require virtually no increase in existing RFID tag resources.

Currently, Demand of data traffic has rapidly increased by popular of smart device. It is very difficult to accommodate demand of data traffic by limited resource of base station (BS). To solve this problem, method has proposed that the Device-to-Device (D2D) reduce frequency overload of the BS and all of the user equipment (UE) inside the BS and neighbor BS don't allow communicating directly to BS. However, in LTE-Advance system cellular link and sharing radio resources of D2D link, the strong interference of the cellular network is still high. So we need to eliminate or mitigate the interference. In this paper, we use the transmission power control method and Soft Frequency Reuse (SFR) resource allocation method to mitigate the interference of the cellular link and D2D link. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme has high performance in terms of Signal to Noise Ratio (SINR) and system average throughput.

In this paper, a simplified uplink transmission procedure is proposed for reducing energy consumption and improving lifetime of CIoT devices. In the proposed procedure, the CIoT devices register information on their service and traffic to the networks, and the networks statically allocate pre-defined amounts of radio resources when the CIoT devices have requested permission for their uplink transmissions. This paper provides details of the proposed procedure comparing with those of the current GSM procedure, and defines detailed operations of the devices and the networks for the proposed one. This shows that the proposed scheme can effectively support CIoT services on GSM networks.

In the Policy and Charging Control(PCC) architecture of the 3GPP and WiMAX forum, the Policy and Charging Rule Function(PCRF) controls and configures the policies of quality of services(QoS) and accounting to a Policy and Charging Rule Enforcement Function(PCEF). In this paper, we categorize the errors into three types that include a disconnection with peer entity, a delayed or no response and a response with failure result, and propose a scheme to automatically synchronize the data between the PCRF and the PCEF for each type of error. Also, we conduct a quantitative analysis to see how much it can help to maintain the cell capacity of the mobile VoIP service in a WiBro network, which is implemented in Korea according to the standards of WiMAX. We can see that our proposed scheme improves the performances of PCC by preventing the waste of radio resources, the overload of systems, the memory leakage of servers, the system shutdown, and so on. We have validated the scheme by implementation, and reflected it in WiMAX standard documents.

Wireless networks have evolved to the appearance of heterogeneous wireless networks(HetNet), where various networks provide data services with various data rates and coverage. One of technical issues for HetNet is efficient utilization of radio resources for system performance enhancement. For the next generation wireless networks, energy saving has become one of key performance indices, so energy-efficient resource management schemes for HetNet need to be developed. This paper addresses an energy-efficient scheduling for HetNet in order to improve the energy efficiency while maintaining similar system throughput as existing scheme, for which an energy-efficient scheduling that energy efficiency factor is included. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme achieves the reduction of energy consumption while admitting limited ragne of throughput degradation in comparison with the conventional proportional fair scheduling.

In a CDMA system, the rapacity is variable and mainly depends on multiple access interference. The multiple access interference has a deep relationship with transmitted or received power. The capacity of CDMA2000 1x system is considered to be limited by the forward link capacity. In this paper, we show that the transmitted power can represent the total cell load and we propose a load control scheme for CDMA2000 1x system. CDMA2000 1x system has fast power control scheme and we can measure forward link cell load by using total transmitted power. In the proposed algorithm, by monitoring the total transmit power, we can simply adjust data rate to channel conditions and efficiently use radio resources. The proposed algorithm is practical algorithm to implement in the power controlled CDMA systems and enhances the system throughput and quality of service(QoS)

We investigate the optimal resource and power allocation for device-to-device (D2D) communications in a multicell environment. When D2D links reuse the cellular radio resources, each D2D user will interfere with a cellular link and other D2D links, in its own cell as well as in adjacent cells. Under such situation, we propose a coordinated resource allocation scheme that can handle the intercell interferences as well as the intracell interference. For a given resource allocation, we also formulate a power optimization problem and present an algorithm for finding the optimal solution. The resource and power allocation algorithms are designed to maximize the achievable rate of the D2D link, while limiting the generated interference to the cellular link. The performance of the proposed algorithms is evaluated through simulations in a multicell environment. Numerical results are presented to verify the coordination gain in the resource and power allocation.

In order to efficiently provide IP based Wireless Broadband services in Mobile WiMAX, schemes for more efficiently utilizing a limited bandwidth in radio links are needed. Robust Header Compression (ROHC), a standard header compression scheme proposed by IETF, Bi-directional Optimistic (O) mode provides higher compression efficiency and robustness compared with Payload Header Suppression (PHS) which is an optional header compression scheme for mobile WiMAX [1, 2]. However, if consecutive packet losses occur because of a Shadow Region of Mobile WiMAX or bit errors, header decompression failure rate of the ROHC O mode increases due to inconsistency of the compression information between the Compressor and the Decompressor. Therefore, a complementary mechanism is needed. In this paper, we propose an approach for the dynamic adjustment of an optimistic parameter, which has an effect on both the compression efficiency and the robustness, for improving the performance of ROHC O mode. We also analyze the performance of the proposed approach using an OPNET simulator.
