  • We sequenced the genome of the Neisseria sp. KEM232 isolated from the smooth surface caries of human cavity of a 7-year old male in Republic of Korea by using the standard dilution plating technique. The genome comprises a single circular 2,371,912 bp chromosome with a G + C content of 58.5%, 2,210 protein-coding genes, 108 pseudo genes, 51 RNA genes, and one CRISPR array. Based on the 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity and average nucleotide identity, the strain KEM232 is most closely related to Neisseria baciliformis.

  • Pantoea intestinalis SRCM103226, isolated from edible insect mealworm overproduces zeaxanthin as a main carotenoid. The complete genome of P. intestinalis SRCM103226 was sequenced using the Pacific Biosciences (PacBio) RS II platform. The genome of P. intestinalis SRCM103226 comprises a 4,784,919 bp circular chromosome (53.41% G+C content), and is devoid of any extrachromosomal plasmids. Annotation using the RAST server reveals 4,332 coding sequences and 107 RNAs (22 rRNA genes, 85 tRNA genes). Genome annotation analysis revealed that it has five genes involved in the carotenoid pathway. The genome information provides fundamental knowledge for comparative genomics studies of the zeaxanthin pathway.

  • Leuconostoc lactis CCK940, which was isolated from kimchi obtained from a Korean traditional market, produced an oligosaccharide with a degree of polymerization of more than 4. In this study, the draft genome sequence of L. lactis CCK940 was reported by using PacBio 20 kb platform. The genome of this strain was sequenced and the genome assembly revealed 2 contigs. The genome was 1,741,511 base pairs in size with a G + C content of 43.33%, containing 1,698 coding sequences, 12 rRNA genes, and 68 tRNA genes. L. lactis CCK940 contained genes encoding glycosyltransferase, sucrose phosphorylase, maltose phosphorylase, and ${\beta}$-galactosidase which could synthesize oligosaccharide.

  • Lindera angustifolia is mainly distributed in the temperate climate zone of China but shows an extraordinary distribution, disjunctively isolated on the western coastal islands of Korea. We therefore present the complete chloroplast genome of Korean L. angustifolia. The complete plastome was 152,836 bp in length, with an overall GC content of 39.2%. A large single copy (93,726 bp) and a small single copy (18,946 bp) of the genome were separated by a pair of inverted repeats (20,082 bp). The genome consists of 125 genes, including 81 protein-coding, eight ribosomal RNA, and 36 transfer RNA genes. While five RNA editing genes (psbL, rpl2, ndhB×2, and ndhD) were identified in L. angustifolia from China, the "ndhD" gene was not recognized as an RNA editing site in the corresponding Korean individual. A phylogenetic analysis revealed that Korean L. angustifolia is most closely related to the Chinese L. angustifolia with strong bootstrap support, forming a sister group of L. glauca.

  • Pseudarthrobacter sp. IC2-21 is isolated from the greenhouse soil in Icheon, Gyeonggi, Korea. This strain IC2-21 is a first fluquinconazole degrading soil bacterium. We analyze the whole genome sequence of Pseudarthrobacter sp. IC2-21. The sequence analysis revealed that Pseudarthrobacter sp. IC2-21 possesses a single 4,265,009 bps circular chromosome with a DNA G+C-content of 65.4%. This chromosome contains 3,942 protein-coding sequences and 12 rRNA and 51 tRNA genes. In the result of sequence analysis, it is revealed that strain IC2-21 possessed genes coding the triazole pesticides degradation related enzymes, such as oxygenase, and fluquinconazole degradation related genes.
