A R&D strategies for development using structured association map (구조화된 연관맵을 이용한 연구개발 전략 수립)

  • A technology is continuously developed in a rapidly changing global market. A company requires an appropriate R&D strategy for adapting to this environment. That is, the technologies owned by the company needs to be thoroughly analyzed to improve its competitiveness. Alternatively, technology classification using IPC codes is carried out recently in an objective and quantitative way. International Patent Classification, IPC is an internationally specified classification system, so it is helpful to conduct an objective and quantitative patent analysis of technology. In this study, all of the patents owned by company C are investigated and a matrix representing IPC codes of each patent is created. Then, a structured association map of the patents is made through association rules mining based on Confidence. The association map can be used to inspect the current situation of a company about patents. It also allows highly associated technologies to be clustered. Using the association map, this study analyzes the technologies of company C and how it changes with time. The strategy for future technologies is established based on the result.

Stereo Matching Algorithm by using Color Information (색상 정보를 이용한 스테레오 정합 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a new stereo matching algorithm by using color information especially for stereo images containing human beings in the applications such as tele-presence system. In the proposed algorithm, we first remove the background regions by using a threshold value for stereo images obtained by stereo camera and then find an initial disparity map and segment a given image into R, G, B and white color components. We also obtain edges in the segmented image and estimate the disparity from the extract boundary regions. Finally, we generate the final disparity map by properly combining the disparity map of each color component. Experiment results show better performance compared with the window based method and the dynamic programing method especially for stereo images with human being.

Grid-based Index Generation and k-nearest-neighbor Join Query-processing Algorithm using MapReduce (맵리듀스를 이용한 그리드 기반 인덱스 생성 및 k-NN 조인 질의 처리 알고리즘)

  • MapReduce provides high levels of system scalability and fault tolerance for large-size data processing. A MapReduce-based k-nearest-neighbor(k-NN) join algorithm seeks to produce the k nearest-neighbors of each point of a dataset from another dataset. The algorithm has been considered important in bigdata analysis. However, the existing k-NN join query-processing algorithm suffers from a high index-construction cost that makes it unsuitable for the processing of bigdata. To solve the corresponding problems, we propose a new grid-based, k-NN join query-processing algorithm. Our algorithm retrieves only the neighboring data from a query cell and sends them to each MapReduce task, making it possible to improve the overhead data transmission and computation. Our performance analysis shows that our algorithm outperforms the existing scheme by up to seven-fold in terms of the query-processing time, while also achieving high extent of query-result accuracy.

Depth Map Based Distributed Multi-view Video Coding Scheme through an Efficient Side Information Generation (효율적인 보조 정보 생성을 통한 깊이지도 기반의 분산 다시점 비디오 코딩 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a new depth map based distributed multi-view video coding algorithm through an efficient side information generation. A distributed video coding scheme corrects errors between an original image and side information generated at a decoder by using channel coding techniques. Therefore, the more accurate side information is generated, the better performance of distributed video coding scheme is achieved. In the proposed algorithm, a distributed video coding scheme is applied to multi-view video coding based on depth map. Side information is also generated from images of adjacent views through 3D warping by using a depth map and is also combined with MCTI(motion compensated temporal interpolation) which uses images on a temporal axis, and 3D warping. Experimental results show that side information generated by using the proposed algorithm has 0.97dB better average PSNR compared with using MCTI and 3D warping separated. In addition, 8.01% of average bit-rate has been decreased while the same PSNR in R-D curves is kept.

Material Image Classification using Normal Map Generation (Normal map 생성을 이용한 물질 이미지 분류)

  • In this study, a method of generating and utilizing a normal map image used to represent the characteristics of the surface of an image material to improve the classification accuracy of the original material image is proposed. First of all, (1) to generate a normal map that reflects the surface properties of a material in an image, a U-Net with attention-R2 gate as a generator was used, and a Pix2Pix-based method using the generated normal map and the similarity with the original normal map as a reconstruction loss was used. Next, (2) we propose a network that can improve the accuracy of classification of the original material image by applying the previously created normal map image to the attention gate of the classification network. For normal maps generated using Pixar Dataset, the similarity between normal maps corresponding to ground truth is evaluated. In this case, the results of reconstruction loss function applied differently according to the similarity metrics are compared. In addition, for evaluation of material image classification, it was confirmed that the proposed method based on MINC-2500 and FMD datasets and comparative experiments in previous studies could be more accurately distinguished. The method proposed in this paper is expected to be the basis for various image processing and network construction that can identify substances within an image.

  • In this paper, we study the inclusion realtion between recursive sets. And we prove that if $\overline{R(f)}{\backslash}R(f)$ is not empty, then it is infinite, and we characterize the necessary and sufficent condition for which $\overline{R(f)}{\backslash}R(f)$ is countable.

The Comparison of the Effects of Nicardipine and Remifentanil on Fluctuation of Blood Pressure during Controlled Hypotension (유도 저혈압하 양악 교정술 시 Nicardipine과 Remifentanil의 혈역학적 비교)

  • Background: Controlled hypotension is used to reduce bleeding and improve surgical conditions during surgery. Nicardipine and remifentanil have been used to induce controlled hypotension in healthy patients. This study compared controllability of nicardipine and remifentanil on hemodynamic stability during controlled hypotension. Methods: Forty healthy patients scheduled for orthognathic two jaw surgery were randomly allocated to nicardipine (group N) and remifentanil (group R) group. After induction of anesthesia, group N (n = 20) was infused with nicardipine to induce hypotension and group R (n = 20) was infused with remifentanil. Mean arterial pressure (MAP) and heart rate (HR) were measured over 5 minute interval. Surgical field rating and blood loss were measured after surgery. Results: HR was lower in group R than group N. MAP was maintained at 50-60 mmHg during controlled hypotension but the fluctuation of blood pressure and HR were more frequent in group N than group R. There were no significant differences in the surgical field rating and blood loss between the groups. Conclusions: Nicardipine and remifentanil enabled controlled hypotension and provided good surgical conditions, but the fluctuation of hemodynamic parameters was more frequent in nicardipine group.
