Development of eTV Binary Format Generator for User Interface of Data Broadcasting (데이터 방송의 사용자 인터페이스를 위한 eTV 바이너리 포맷 생성기의 개발)

  • 최근의 방송은 A/V 프로그램만을 보내주던 기존의 방송에서 데이터를 연동하여 서비스하는 방송으로 변화하였다. 데이터 방송은 지상파, 위성, 케이블 등의 방송망을 이용하여 하나의 방송사가 다수의 시청자에게 디지털 멀티미디어 콘텐츠를 여러 종류의 단말기에 전송하는 것이다. 이러한 데이터 방송을 통해 시청자가 직간접적으로 프로그램에 참여할 수 있게 된다. 이러한 서비스를 위해 필요한 여러 기술 중에 사용자의 인터페이스를 제공하기 위한 콘텐츠 표현 기술이 필요하다. 대표적인 콘텐츠의 표현 기술은 HAVi UI와 eTV 시스템이 있다. HAVi UI는 자바 컴포넌트 API로 구성되어 있으며 HAVi 컴포넌트 API로 셋톱박스 어플리케이션(Xlet)을 개발한다. 개발된 Xlet 프로그램은 미들웨어 시스템에 탑재된 자바 가상 머신을 통해 실행된다. eTV 시스템은 범용 마크업 언어인 XML로 어플리케이션을 개발한다. 개발된 eTV 어플리케이션은 eTV 바이너리 생성기를 통해 EBIF가 생성되고 셋톱박스에 탑재된 eTV 리시버에서 실행된다. 본 논문에서는 eTV 시스템을 구성하기 위한 구성요소에서 서버 모듈인 eTV 바이너리 포맷 생성기를 개발하였다. eTV 시스템 개발을 통해서 데이터 방송을 위한 사용자 인터페이스의 기능을 확대 할 수 있으며, 시청자의 선택에 따른 방송을 보다 폭 넓게 제공할 수 있다.

Convergence Study on the Relation between Cognition, Depression and Aggression in the Elderly (노인의 인지, 우울과 공격성의 관계에 관한 융합 연구)

  • This study was carried out to determine the relation between cognition, depression and aggression in the elderly. A questionnaire survey was conducted with 198 elderly people in K region. The results were as follows. (1) The cognition of the elderly showed significant difference by gender, age, religion, marital status, education, living together, healthcare and monthly income (p<.05), and depression showed significant difference by gender and monthly income (p<.05). (2) Cognition and aggression(r=.15, p=.030), depression and aggression(r=.39, p<.001) there was a significant correlation between. Physical aggression and verbal aggression proved most significant correlation among the sub-factors(r=.55, p<.001). (3) Depression (${\beta}=0.568$, p<.001) had an significant influence on aggression. The explanation power was shown to be 10.0%. Accordingly, aggression management programs that are tailored according to the depression level of the elderly are required, and nursing based on this consideration would be of help to improve their quality of life.

  • The National Science and Technology Knowledge Information Service (NTIS) provides information on national R&D projects. Project information consists of meta-information such as 'project name', 'project performance institution', 'research manager name', and text explaining projects such as 'research goal', 'research content', and 'expected effect'. There is a problem that it takes a lot of time to find the desired project information by checking all of the "research goals" or "research contents" in the list of results of searching for 1 million project information. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a project information summary system that summarizes the parts consisting of long texts within the national R&D project information. By analyzing the linguistic characteristics of the Korean language, a preprocessor was built and a project information summary model based on natural language processing technology was developed to process preprocessed text information. Through this, project information composed of long sentences is provided in a compressed and summarized form, which will help users to easily and quickly infer the overall content with the summary information alone.

Perception of the Gifted Science Students' Mothers on Giftedness (과학영재를 둔 어머니들의 영재성에 대한 인식)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the perception of the mothers of science gifted in respect to giftedness compared to the "Scale for Rating the Behavioral Characteristics of Superior Students-R(SRBCSS-R)". For that, a survey of 18 mothers of elementary school science gifted and 32 mothers of middle school science gifted was conducted in relation to giftedness. The words and frame of this survey were analyzed using the Semantic Network Analysis. The results are as follows : The mothers of Elementary school science gifted perception were found to have a connected giftedness with reading, science, making something, etc.. On the other hand, the mothers of middle school science gifted perception were found to have a connected giftedness with problem, solving problem, mathematics, etc. in words analysis. The mothers of Elementary school science gifted have a strong connection with category on creativity, motivation, etc.. On the other hand, the mothers of middle school science gifted were more inclined towards the category on learning, motivation, etc. in frame analysis. That is to say, the mothers of science gifted are perceptive about giftedness respect to some elements as the "Scale for Rating the Behavioral Characteristics of Superior Students-R" on the giftedness. Therefore, a correct understanding about giftedness in respect to the mothers of science gifted is required and parent education is needed for appropriate science gifted education.

The Relationship of Violence Experience with Psychosocial Stress and Burnout in 119 Emergency Medical Technicians in the ICT Age (ICT 시대에서 119 구급대원의 폭력경험과 사회심리적 스트레스 및 소진의 연관성)

  • This study aimed to identify correlations among experience of violence, psychosocial stress and exhaustion in emergency medical technicians. In total, 393 emergency medical technicians were participated in the survey using an organized essay-type questionnaire. To determine psychosocial stress and exhaustion factors, a linear regression analysis was performed. In results, psychosocial stress factors were work units, the hope to keeping working in the present department, and verbal violence ($R^2=12.9%$), and the exhaustion factors were hope to keeping working at the present department, work units, and verbal violence ($R^2=14.5%$). In conclusion, it is suggested that strategies to deal with violence against subjects are educational programs to prevent violence and emotional support programs to decrease psychosocial stress, as well measures to improve the emergency rescue environment should be developed.

EEG Study for the Effects of Mouth Breathing on Brain Functions (구강 호흡이 뇌기능에 미치는 영향에 관한 EEG 연구)

  • In this study, we investigated the effects of mouth breathing on brain activity through electroencephalogram (EEG). EEG was performed on 12 healthy volunteers of age ranging from 21 to 27 years (male: female = 6:6, non-smoker). Brain waves on resting state (Rest_N/Rest_M) and auditory-language stimuli state (Eng_N/Eng_M) were recorded during mouth and nose breathing. Four different regions (R1~R4) were classified based on the brain functionality. And each channel (e.g., Pf1 and Pf2) and frequency (${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$, ${\gamma}$, and ${\theta}$) were analyzed using their absolute power ratios of fast Fourier transform (FFT). The results showed that there was no significant difference between Rest_N and Rest_M. Eng_N had significantly higher brain activity than Rest_N; on the other hand, there was no significant difference between Rest_M and Eng_M. These results demonstrate that mouth-breathing on resting state does not induce any significant effects on brain activity and/or functionality, even though it causes subtle temporary inconvenience. In addition to the uncomfort, the brain activity can be adversely influenced by mouth-breathing, which could lower the cognitive skills under certain circumstances.

Articulation Changes after Partial Glossectomy in Patients with Early Tongue Cancer (초기 구강설암 환자에서 부분 설절제술 후 조음변화)

  • Backgrounds and Objects: Carcinoma of the tongue is the most common cancer of the oral cavity. A primary treatment strategy includes surgery and/or radiotherapy. Resection of the tongue often results in speech dysfunction, which depends on the site and extent of resection, type of reconstruction, and the mobility of remaining tongue. This study aimed to evaluate the characteristics of articulation errors that were resulted from the partial glossectomy without free flap reconstruction. Materials & Method : Articulation evaluations including speech intelligibility and percent of correct consonants (PCC) were performed for 24 patients who underwent partial glossectomy for their T1 or T2 tongue cancer. Mobility of the tongue, size of the resected tongue, and the history of adjuvant radiotherapy were analyzed for their relationship with the results of articulation evaluation. Results: Speech intelligibility score was $6.4{\pm}0.9$ (on 7-point scale) and overall PCC was 96.9%. There were close relationships between the size of resection and limitations in the tongue mobility, especially in "protrusion and elevation (r=-0.687)" and "retroflexion (r=-0.775)". Errors in "alveolar fricatives" and "palatal affricates" were also closely related with the size of resection (r=-0.537 and -0.538, respectively). PCC for "liquid sound" /r/ was 83.2%, which was closely related with the history of radiation therapy. Conclusion : Overall articulatory function was satisfactory in cases of early tongue cancer after partial glossectomy of a limited volume without flap reconstruction. However, the size of resection and the history of radiation therapy were closely related to the limitations in some types of tongue mobility and the resultant articulation errors.

In der vorliegenden Arbeit geht es vor allem um die praktische Anwendung von den $M\"{a}rchentexten$ in der germanistischen Abteilung der koreanischen $Universit\"{a}ten$. $M\"{a}rchen$ sind ein Kulturgut, das sich in vielen $V\"{o}ilkern$, Kulturen und Gegenden der Erde findet. $M\"{a}rchen$ sprechen eine Sprache der Symbole und Bilder, eine Sprache, die den Menschen in seiner $Emotionalit\"{a}t$ besonders anspricht. Sie haben eine Anziehungskraft, die uns nicht $unber\"{u}hrt{\;}l\"{a}sst$. Sie zeigen in vie1en Kulturen Motive menschlichen Daseins, die $\"{u}bereinstimmende$ Merkmale zeigen. In dieser Studie wird insbesondere $\"{u}ber$ eine untenichtspraktische Anwendung des $M\"{a}rchens$ $f\"{u}r$ den Deutschunterricht diskutiert. Schuler lernen erst elementare $W\"{o}rter$, Grammatik und dann wichtige kulturelle Elemente. $Erw\"{u}nscht$ waren wissenschaftlich fundierte Methoden $f\"{u}r$ den deutschen Kulturuntenicht und systematisch aufgebaute Internetseiten, die fur bestimmte Deutschkurse an den koreanischen $Universit\"{a}ten$ gedacht sind. Es ware ideal, audiovisuelle/multimediale Webseiten/Webpages mit Texten, Bildern, Webaufgaben und Audio-Nideofiles zu erstellen.

Prediction of speaking fundamental frequency using the voice and speech range profiles in normal adults (정상 성인에서 음성 및 말소리 범위 프로파일을 이용한 발화 기본주파수 예측)

  • This study sought to investigate whether mean speaking fundamental frequency (SFF) can be predicted by parameters of voice and speech range profile (VRP and SRP) in Korean normal adults. Moreover, it explored whether gender differences exist in the absolute differences between the SFF and estimated SFF (ESFF) predicted by the VRP and SRP. A total of 85 native Korean speakers with normal voice participated in the study. Each participant was asked to perform the VRP task using the vowel /a/ and the SRP task using the first sentence of a Korean standard passage "Ga-eul". In addition, the SFF was measured with electroglottography during a passage reading task. Predictive factors of the SFF were explored and the absolute difference between the SFF and the ESFF (DSFF) was compared between gender groups. Results indicated that predictive factors were age, gender, minimum pitch and pitch range for the VRP (adjusted $R^2=.931$), and pitch range (in semi-tones) and maximum pitch for the SRP (adjusted $R^2=.963$), respectively. The SFF and ESFF predicted by the VRP and SRP showed a strong positive correlation. The DSFF of the VRP and SRP, as well as their sum did not differ by gender. In conclusion, the SFF during a passage reading task could be successfully predicted by the parameters of the VRP and SRP tasks. In further studies, clinical implications need to be explored in patients who may exhibit deviations in SFF.

Features of Science Classes in Science Core Schools Identified through Semantic Network Analysis (언어네트워크분석을 통해 본 과학중점학교 과학수업의 특징)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the features of science classes of Science Core Schools (SCSs) perceived by students. 654 students from 14 SCSs were surveyed with two open-ended questions on the features of science classes. The students' responses were analyzed with NetMiner 4.5, in terms of the centrality (of betweenness and of degree) analysis and the community analysis. The results of the research are as follows: (1) the science classes of SCSs were perceived by students to be of the environment of free questioning, active participation and communication, caring teacher, more science experiments and advanced contents, and knowledge sharing; (2) science classes in SCSs were perceived to be different from those of ordinary high schools because SCSs provide more opportunities for science-related special courses (like project work, advanced science subjects), extra-curricular activities, inquiry and research activities, school supports, hard-working classroom environment, longer studying hours, R&E and club activities. The students' perceptions of SCS science classes appear to be in line with the characteristics of 'good' science lessons from previous studies. The SCS project itself and the features of SCS science classes would help us to see how we introduce educational innovations into actual schools.
