A note on jordan left derivations

  • Throughout, R will represent an associative ring with center Z(R). A module X is said to be n-torsionfree, where n is an integer, if nx = 0, $x \in X$ implies x = 0. An additive mapping $D : R \to X$, where X is a left R-module, will be called a Jordan left derivation if $D(a^2) = 2aD(a), a \in R$. M. Bresar and J. Vukman [1] showed that the existence of a nonzero Jordan left derivation of R into X implies R is commutative if X is a 2-torsionfree and 3-torsionfree left R-module.

한국재래산양의 발육형질에 대한 유전능력 평가 (Parameter Estimates for Genetic Effects on Growth Traits of Korean Native Goats)

  • 본 연구는 1996년부터 2000년까지 축산기술연구소 남원지소에서 사육되고 있는 한국 재래산양의 발육형질 자료를 이용하였다. 조사형질로는 생시, 3개월령, 6개월령 체중으로 개체모형(Animal model)을 이용하여 분석하였고, 고정효과로 성별, 출생년도-계절, 사양형태를 고려하였으며, 각 형질에 대한 분산성분 및 유전모수를 추정하기 위하여 MTDFREML Program을 이용하였다. 본 연구에서 얻어진 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 생시, 3개월령, 6개월령의 평균체중은 각각 1.78${\pm}$0.32, 7.99${\pm}$2.66, 12.08${\pm}$3.20kg이었고, 부수적으로 조사된 3개월령과 6개월령 평균체위는 각각 체고가 36.46, 40.27 cm, 체장은 38.06, 42.01cm, 흉위는 45.56, 51.07cm이었다. 생시, 3개월령, 6개월령 체중에 대한 개체의 유전력은 각각 0.66, 0.34, 0.27이었으며, 생시와 3개월령 체중에 대한 모체의 유전력은 각각 0.28, 0.03으로 추정되었고, 분산성분과 유전모수 추정 결과 생시와 3개월령 체중에 대해서는 모체유전효과가 중요하게 작용되었으며, 3개월령 체중에서는 모체환경효과가 고려되어야 하나, 6개월령 체중에서는 모체유전효과가 중요하지 않는 것으로 분석되었다.

라면에서 나타나는 매운 감각 인지 강도의 변화 (Changes in Perceived Intensities of Pungency of Ramen Soup)

  • 고추로부터 추출한 capsicum 용액(30 Scoville Unit와 50 Scoville Unit)의 매운 감각은 돈골(豚骨)베이스의 순한맛 라면 스프를 혼합하였을 때 뚜렷한 감소 현상을 보였다. 이러한 감소 현상과 관련하여 3가지 향미증진제, 0.5%(w/w) MSG, 0.5%(w/w) IG, 0.5%(w/w) $Aromild^{\circledR}$(yeast extract, Japan)가 고춧가루를 함유하는 라면의 매운 정도를 감소시키는 효과를 확인하였고, 10%(w/w) 설탕과 0.66 ppm의 capsicum이 서로 masking 현상을 보임을 알 수 있었다. 유탕면을 사용하는 라면의 매운 정도는 면을 끊일 때 우러나오는 유지 성분에 의하여도 감소하였다.

사료의 에너지 수준이 육성기 흑염소의 발육과 육질에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Dietary Energy Level on Growth and Meat Quality of Korean Black Goats)

  • 본 시험은 사료의 에너지 수준이 육성기 흑염소의 발육과 육질에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 흑염소 육성축 수컷 40두를 공시하여 대사에너지 수준을 각각 2.4, 2.6, 2.8 및 3.0 Mcal/kg로 하여 2006년 4월 20일부터 2006년 11월 6일까지 시험을 실시하였으며 그 결과는 다음과 같다.일당증체량은 대사에너지 2.4, 2.6, 2.8 및 3.0 Mcal/kg구가 각각 59.8, 65.4, 73.2 및 77.2g으로 사료의 에너지 수준이 높을수록 증가하는 경향이었고, 사료요구율은 각각 9.87, 8.88, 8.11, 7.19로 감소하는 경향이었다. 사료의 에너지 수준에 따른 도체특성은 에너지 수준이 증가함에 따라 도체율은 각각 49.73, 48.64, 50.19, 51.36%로 증가하는 경향이었으나 정육율, 지방율, 뼈율은 에너지수준 간에 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 육질특성은 일반조성분인 조지방 함량은 사료의 에너지 수준이 증가함에 따라 증가하는 경향이었고, 물리적 특성인 전단력, 가열감량 및 보수력은 대사에너지 3.0 Mcal/kg에서 각각 2.82㎏/cm2, 29.6%, 59.0%로 다른 처리구보다 육질이 우수한 경향을 나타내었다. 이러한 결과를 종합적으로 고려할 때 육성기 흑염소의 발육과 육질개선을 위한 사료는 사료의 CP함량이 15%일 경우 대사에너지 수준은 ME 3.0 Mcal/kg이 적정한 것으로 사료된다.

  • 3축 가속도 센서, 2축 지자기 센서, 구동 ASIC 및 마이크로 컨트롤 유니트(MCU, Micro Control Unit)를 집적시킨 복합센서 모듈을 개발하였다. 센서 모듈의 사이즈는 $8.3mm{\times}5.3mm{\times}1.5mm$ (0.066 cc)로서 스택(stack) 패키징 방식으로 제작하였다. 제작된 센서 모듈의 특성은 가속도 센서와 지자기 센서 모두 목표한 범위내의 값이 얻어졌으며, 특히 까다로운 규격의 신뢰성 테스트 모두 통과함으로서 우수한 성능을 보유하고 있음을 입증할 수 있었다.

Using Analytic Network Process to Establish Performance Evaluation Indicators for the R&D Management Department in Taiwan's High-tech Industry

  • The high-tech industry is the economic lifeline for Taiwan. Its characteristics are short product life cycle, rapid changes in the market, and a high obsolescence rate for new products. Under globalization, the high-tech industry has adopted Information Technology (IT) to shorten the manufacturing process, reduce costs and conduct product research and development (R&D) to increase the core competence of enterprises and achieve the goal of sustainable operations. Enterprises should actively strengthen their integration with internal and external resources and lead in R&D management to increase industrial operating performance. Effectively managing operations and R&D management evaluation in Taiwan's High-tech Industry has become a critical subject. This study adopted 4 major Balanced Scorecard (BSC) perspectives to establish the Total Performance Evaluation Indicators for the R&D management department in Taiwan's High-tech Industry. The Analytic Network Process (ANP) was applied to evaluate the overall performance of the R&D management department. The research framework is divided into 2 phases. The first phase is combined with the 4 major perspectives, Financial, Customer, Internal Business Process and Learning and Growth, as the related indicators for each measurement perspective. The Key Performance Indicators (KPI) were selected using Factor Analysis to identify the key factor from the complicated indicators. The relationship between the characteristics of each BSC's evaluation perspective is dependence and feedback. This study applied ANP to conduct the calculation and adjustment of correlation between each KPI, and determine on their relative weights for the objective KPI. The "Financial Perspective" for R&D management department in Taiwan's High-tech Industry focused on the budget achievement rate of R&D management. The weight indicator value is (0.05863). The "Customer Perspective" focused on problem-solving satisfaction. The weight value of this indicator is (0.17549). The "Internal Business Process Perspective" focused on the quantity and quality of R&D. The weight value of this indicator is (0.13506). The "Learning and Growth Perspective" focused on improving competence in the research personnel's professional techniques. The weight value of this indicator is (0.02789). From the total weighting indicators, the order of the Performance Indicators for the R&D management department in Taiwan's High-tech Industry is: (1) Customer Perspective; (2) Internal Business Process Perspective; (3) Financial Perspective; and (4) Learning and Growth Perspective.

Variation of Chemical Components and Their Interaction with Isoflavones in Maturing Soybean Seeds

  • This study was focuses on the variation of isoflavone contents during seed development and their interaction with major chemical components such as protein, amino acids, saccaharides, lipid and fatty acids. During maturing, lipid, protein, and amino acid contents in soybean seeds showed the highest values at R7 stages, but isoflavone contents were increased until R8 stage. It was noted that malonyl glucosides $(64.2\%)$ are predominant forms among conjugated isoflavones followed by glucosides $(30.7\%)$, acetyl glucosides $(4.1\%)$ and aglycones $(0.9\%)$. Sucrose and stachyose were presented as a major saccharide in soybean seeds. As maturing days progressed, they were constantly increased and the highest contents were observed at R8 stage. While small quantities of raffinose, fructose, glucose, maltose, DP3 (DP: degree of polymerization), DP6, and DP7 were detected. These results showed that saccharide composition at the beginning of seed development is primarily monosaccharides with little sucrose and oligosaccharides, but as maturing days proceeds, sucrose and starch increase with concomitant decrease in monosaccharides. Sucrose and stachyose were positively correlated with isoflavone (r=0.780, 0.764 at p<0.01, respectively), while fructose, glucose, maltose, and DP7 were negatively correlated (r=-0.651, -0.653, -0.602, and -0.586 at p<0.05, respectively). Soybeans at R8 stage were high in protein and amino acid, but low in free amino acid contents. Protein and amino acid contents showed positively significant correlations with isoflavone (r=0.571 and 0.599 at p<0.05, respectively), but free amino acid content were negatively correlation with isoflavone (r=-0.673, p<0.01). The lipid content reaches its final content relatively early stage of seed development and remains constant as compared with other chemical components. Among the fatty acids, although varietal difference was presented, stearic acid and linolenic acid were gradually decreased, while oleic and linoleic acid were increased as seed maturing progressed. Lipid was significantly correlated (r=0.754, p<0.01) with isoflavones. However, neither saturated fatty acid nor unsaturated fatty acids significantly affected the isoflavone contents of maturing soybean seeds.

  • 최근 IoT 기기와 센서의 발전으로 다양한 서비스가 제안되고 있으며, 이를 제어하기 위한 인터페이스나 사용자 인터랙션에 대한 고민이 더욱 깊어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 삼성의 Tizen 3.0 OS 버전을 기반으로 한 TV에서 IoT를 지원하는 인터페이스 디자인에 관해 설명하고 있다. 이러한 인터페이스를 ETG{EveryThing's Guide)라고 제안하였으며, IoT 시대의 허브 역할로서 사용자가 편안한 인터페이스를 사용할 수 있도록 하는 데 중점을 두었다. IoT 시대를 대비하는 TV나 모바일 기기의 형태는 사용자 중심의 간결하고 직관적인 인터페이스 디자인을 기반으로 하여야 한다. 따라서 구현 사례에서는 사용자에게 직접적으로 필요한 Thing들을 빠르게 접근하고 쉽게 제어할 수 있어야 한다는 점을 설계 시 고려하였다.

금개구리(Rana plancyi)의 소리 유형과 수온에 따른 소리변화 (The Call Patterns and the Change of Calls by Water Temperature in Rana plancyi (Amphibia, Anura))

  • The study of the Rana plancyi, was done during the calling period at a pond in Osong, Chungbuk, Korea from May to the middle of August of 1996 and 1997. Five basic types of call-A, B, C, D, E, - were identified in Rana plancyi according to the structure of call types. The structure of A type call has only one pulse, B type call has two pulses and C, D type call has one separated pulse which is called introductory call and pulse group as follow it. On the other hand, E type call has 3-6 separate pulses. The interval between introductory call and pulse group is $0.73{\pm}0.29$ s(n=159) in C type call and $0.60{\pm}0.21$ s (n=48) in D type call. The number of pulses in the pulse group is $30.08{\pm}8.69$ in C type call and $15.78{\pm}2.40$ in D type call. An increase in water temperature induces a decrease in C and D type call duration (C type call r= -0.4153, p<0.001, D type call r=-0.7064, p<0.001). In case of C and D type call, the interval between introductory call and pulse group influenced more call duration than pulse group duration. We regarded A, B type call as a territorial call and C, D type call as a mating call and we recognized that E type call has the function of threat or alarm.

Bacterial Diversity in the Rhizosphere of Halophyte Suaeda japonica in Western and Southern Mudflats of Korea

  • This study was carried out to investigate the population densities, R/S ratios, and identification of heterotrophic bacteria on the rhizosphere soil of halophyte Suaeda japonica found on the western and southern mudflats of Korea. The population densities of aerobic and anaerobic heterotrophic bacteria on the rhizosphere soil of Suaeda japonica were in the range of $1.3\;{\pm}\;0.3\;{\times}\;10^6\;{\sim}\;6.3\;{\pm}\;3.3\;{\times}\;10^7\;and\;2.8\;{\pm}\;1.3\;{\times}\;10^4\;{\sim}\;1.8\;{\pm}\;0.7\;{\times}\;10^7\;cfu\;g^{-1}\;d.\;wt.$, respectively. In case of physiologically specific bacteria, population densities of amylolytic bacteria on the rhizosphere soil of Suaeda japonica were in the range of $4.4\;{\pm}\;0.6\;{\times}\;10^6\;{\sim}\;2.5\;{\pm}\;1.2\;{\times}\;10^7\;cfu\;g^{-1}\;d.\;wt.$, those of cellulolytic bacteria were from $8.5\;{\pm}\;6.0\;{\times}\;10^4\;{\sim}\;2.3\;{\pm}\;1.6\;{\times}\;10^6\;cfu\;g^{-1}\;d.\;wt.$, and those of proteolytic bacteria were from $3.8\;{\pm}\;1.8\;{\times}\;10^5\;{\sim}\;4.2\;{\pm}\;2.9\;{\times}\;10^6\;cfu\;g^{-1}\;d.\;wt.$, respectively. The R/S ratios were ranged from 2.33 to 2.39. Among eleven isolates from the roots of halophyte Suaeda japonica of Goheung bay by using 16S rDNA analysis, five clones were closely related to ${\gamma}-Proteobacteria$ group and six clones were closely related to ${\alpha}-Proteobacteria$ group. Among four isolates from Suncheon bay, two strains were related to ${\gamma}-Proteobacteria$ group and another two were related to Actinobacteria and Bacilli group, respectively.
