The Study on Usefulness Evaluation of a Technology Opportunity Discovery Service (유용성 관점의 기술 기회 발굴 지원 서비스에 대한 연구)

  • In this study we evaluate usefulness of InSciTe Advanced, technology opportunity service offering trends information related technologies by analyzing automatically large amount of data. Before developing the service, InSciTe Advanced, we design 5 main services - Trends and Predictions, Technology Levels, Relationship Paths, Roadmaps, Competitors and Collaborators - through the interviews with expert in planning R&D strategy. And we evaluate usefulness of each service in InSciTe Advanced to examine how the information analyzed by InSciTe Advanced are useful to user from two points of view, Satisfaction of Information and Completeness of Information. Users set a high value on 5 main services in all tis aspects, but give relative low grades to completeness of Information. We will learn lessons from this study, increase kinds and amount of data, and strengthen the process about accuracy and reliability of analyzed information from the service.

Graphene Anode Material Technology Patent Trend Analysis for Secondary Battery (이차전지용 그래핀 음극소재 기술 특허 동향 분석)

  • The need for miniaturization, high efficiency, and green energy resources as an energy storage device through the development of various electronic device has emerged. Accordingly, nanomaterials with excellent electrochemical properties, such as graphene and graphene hybrids, are attracting attention as promising materials. In particular, in the electric vehicle industry, cost reduction of secondary batteries is a key factor that can determine the spread of related industries, and it is most important to analyze R&D trends for battery material technology and respond to future technological development directions. Therefore, in this study, we tried to suggest a direction for R&D activities in the future by analyzing patent trends for graphene anode material technology for secondary batteries and deriving implications. As a result, in the case of anode material technology, the proportion of foreigners in the US and European patent markets was higher than in the Korean and Japanese patent markets, which means that the US and European marketability is high. In addition, Japanese applicants are filing high-level applications not only in the Japanese patent market but also in other countries suggests that Japan is leading the technology in this field. Lastly, the proportion of research institutes in the patent market of Korea and the US remains high compared to that of Japan and Europe, indicating that the commercialization of technology is still slow in those countries. Therefore research institutes and companies in Korea will have to establish their own strategies for developing and securing materials using the results of patent trends in major countries and major companies analyzed in this study.

R&D Trend of Airplane Health and Usage Monitoring System (항공기용 실시간 안전진단시스템 (HUMS) 연구개발 동향)

  • Aircraft accidents are characterized by substantial and extensive damage: the destruction of hulls and the fatalities of passengers. Health and Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMSs) are being developed as a technological approach to prevent the aircraft accident. In Korea, a project to develop HUMS for small airplane is being executed by funding of by Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs. In this paper, global R&D trends of HUMS to prevent aircraft accident are described. An on-going Korean HUMS project is also explained, especially for system configuration, functionality and expected achievement.

  • The numerical analysis of ablative thermal protection systems (TPS) for solid rockets has been carried out with various in-house codes since the 1960s. However, the application scope of commercial codes has been expanded by adding subroutines and user-defined functions (UDF) to codes such as Fluent, Marc, and ABAQUS. In the past, the flow, thermal response and structural analysis of TPS have been performed using separate approaches. Recently, research has been conducted to interrelate them. In this paper, the thermal response characteristics of thermal protection materials, the in-house codes for thermal response analysis, and the research trends of flow-thermal-structure analysis of TPS using commercial codes were reviewed.

  • This research was designed to study the Korean dress design trends and different kinds of ancient patterns applied to the Korean dresses in 2001. The trend sources were collected by the HANBOK monthly journal and the symbolism of patterns associated with these patterns being used the prevalent Korean dress collection in markets. The results of the research can be summarized as following; The most of Korean dress image was elegant of ancient mode. Main colors of the traditional Korean jacket were white, yellowish white and green. However, main color of the traditional Korean skirt was represented as red. A plant pattern was the most popular pattern in a practical purpose. It looks beautiful and it is also easily manufactured with open space. Copying other patterns definitely damage the elegance of the Korean dress. It is time for us to not only keep our own traditions but also study and develop new patterns. Designers must study to develop the image and patterns which are agreed with consumer's taste.

  • Recent technologies of the car are focused on improving vehicle's fuel efficiency and developing alternative energy sources. These technologies bring on the development of hybrid car. On the other hand, because of short driving distance, low efficiency of charging and high price, energy storage system need to improve the storage capability. It is very important to understand the existing technologies, grasp the existing patent and establish the technical target to improve the energy storage system. In this paper, technology trends of energy storage system of the hybrid car are analyzed. This study was based on the applied and registered patent in Korea, Japan, U.S.A and Europe until December 2008. The analyses are divided into two categories: a battery system and charging system of the hybrid car. The facts of the level of technology, trends of the R&D of leading companies, key patents, blank of the technology were analyzed. Finally the future R&D strategy of hybrid car are established.

  • Patent information, which is generated under a specific, objective rule for a prolonged period of time, has the properties of technology, right, and management. Because of these characteristics of patents, patent analysis is used to identify R&D capacities and performances, and management strategies of a given nation or enterprise. In this paper, we analyze LTE essential patents which are key IPRs for implementing standardized LTE technology and major weapons in a global patent war. Also, we discuss the status of standard patent data, main applicants and standardization trends based on declared in ETSI standard patents. Especially, we analyzed 15,073 patents data which are possible to analyze patent information.

  • Nozzleless booster is one of the applicable components for integral rocket ramjet (IRR). In order to predict nozzleless solid booster performance, the simplified theoretical analysis was applied for L/D=5, 6, 7, 9, 11, and 13. Al-HTPB and Zr-HTPB propellant with a high metal content were used to increase the hardness because of the combustion gas flow effect. It was found that the trends between the simplified theoretical analysis and experiments were similar.

  • ITU-R WP 5D에서는 차세대 이동통신 시스템인 IMT-Advanced 시스템에 대한 표준화를 진행하고 있다. 이 표준화는 IMT-Advanced를 위한 표준화 일정, 서비스 요구사항, 기술적 요구사항, 평가 방법 등을 포함하며 최종적으로 각 사항들은 IMT-Advanced 후보 기술 제출 요청을 위해 외부 표준화 기관 등에 발송될 예정이다. 이중 IMT.TECH은 IMT-Advanced에서의 기술적 요구사항을 규정하며 IMT-Advanced 시스템 평가를 위한 최소 기술 요구사항, 주요 기술적인 항목에 대한 정의, 평가를 위한 항목 등을 주요 내용으로 한다. 본 고는 2008년 1월 WP 5D 1차 회의까지 작성된 IMT.TECH 문서의 주요 내용을 소개하고, 차후 일정 및 대응 방안에 대하여 논한다.

  • 무인기의 기술 발전에 따른 운송, 통신중계, 교통감시, 산불감시 진화, 재해 재난대처 등 무인기의 민간 및 공공 수요가 확대되고 있다. 무인기는 국가 공역으로의 운항이 요구되는데, 국가 공역으로의 안전한 진입을 위해서는 유인항공기 조종사에 의한 시각 감지 및 회피와 동일할 수준의 안전성을 제공하는 탐지 회피 능력과 함께 신뢰성 높은 무인기 제어용 통신링크 확보가 필수적으로 요구되고 있다. 따라서, 본고에서는 국외 기술 개발 및 표준화 동향을 바탕으로 국가 공역에서의 무인기의 안정적 진입을 위해 필요한 무인기 지상 제어용 통신 및 네트워크 기술에 대해 살펴보고자 한다.
