In cost estimation of construction, several methods including quantity-per-unit costing, job costing, unit cost estimation and lumpsum estimation are being utilized in Korea. Among them, a Quantity-per-unit Costing Method is used as a standard of cost estimation in public and private works. This paper presents the realistic job-costing method on all road construction tasks through statistical analyses with field survey data to solve the problems induced by the existing quantity-per-unit costing method. Furthermore, it was found that the newly developed job costing method is able to produce a simple costing procedure and a more actual construction cost estimation by a case study, which was performed to compare particular construction costs produced by two different methods, existing quantity-per-unit costing and newly developed job costing. These methods is compared by Case-study about sub-base. In the case of Job costing method, the estimate is shorter than the other case about 50% and can make up for the weak point about instrument in the current Standard of cost estimation. And it can be depict by Job Costing method about progress of work for using by a plan about construction management.

The construction cost estimates during the design phase becomes the standard to judge profitability and validity, and is very important in various decision-makings by project owner. However, since approximate costs are quoted when many parts are undecided in the early stage of project, differences are bound to occur between the construction cost calculated through approximate quotation and that put into construction actually. Also, since in existing quotation works, quantity calculations have been dependent on the staff's manual work, involving error potential, and thus differences are likely in quantity calculation depending on the quotation staff's method of calculation. In this study, the process of creating space model to deduce 3D geometry information for approximate quotation in association with knowledge information and the expression for calculation of finishing area were proposed.
This study has analysed actual overbreak, shotcrete rebound and the ratio between the actual quantity of shotcrete to designed shotcrete measured during a NATM tunnel construction. The measured shotcrete rebound was about 7.2% in average which was about half the allowable rebound (15%), showing shotcrete spraying was performed well. Based on the measurement of excavated tunnel shape, average overbreak was about 28.5cm after tunnel excavation by drill and blasting method. This was about 260% of allowable overbreak. In addition, due to the rebound and overbreak actual amount of shotcrete used in the tunnelling work was about 116.5 % of the designed value. According to the field measurement the ratio of actual shotcrete to designed value showed some relation with standard support pattern, but the size of overbreak did not show the correlation with standard support pattern. Hence current design specifications stating the size of overbreak based entirely on standard support pattern should perhaps be reestablished. The insight into the design guideline regarding overbreak and shotcrete.

Construction projects have unique characteristics that these may be carried out by contractors thus, cost should be estimated before execution. The importance of cost estimation and cost check has become increasingly emphasized in all phases of construction project that would be performed numerously. It is needed that owner have to estimate reasonable budget, and contractor should predict the bid price. However, there are lack of standard cost estimation method before quantity takeoff, cost analysis method, and cost database thus, the method of area cost, such as square foot method, is as used as ever in Korea. Therefore, this research suggested standard cost database structure CUBE, and analysis method of item quantity per one household categorized by area type. Whereafter, database of all item quantity of finish work has been built with 90 building cost data, and validated it's availability. In this respect, the suggested method and the findings from this research are expected to help enhancing the efficiency and productivity of cost estimation in Korea.
This paper tries to apply the standard method for the estimation of range and degree of fisheries damages caused by warm water drained by generating plants to a real situation. The theoretic foundation of the study has been shown in the article published on the journal of fisheries business administration of last year. The paper tries to examine the degree of external appicability of the theoretic model through empirical study. The results of the study are as follows. The model has been found a successful device for the estimation of fisheries damages caused by warm water drained by generating plants. It also shows a possibility to work in any other fisheries damage cases caused by several kinds of public undertaking on coastal areas. The key of the model is the successful derivation of the quantity amount of the critical variation of environmental factors for example, in this case, water thermal variation. Therefore the countinous and appropriate collection of law data on the environmental factors under a viewpoint of statistics is essential to the usefulness of the model.

Although work-efficiency of construction machinery is a critical factor for estimating its workable-quantity perunit time, the efficiency figure table presented in the Poom-Sam that is used for Construction Cost Estimation of public sectors in Korea is very subjective for practical usage. In order to suggest objective work-efficiency table for a Pump-Dredger, domestic and overseas documentary records were investigated and on-going construction sites were also visited. Moreover, actual work quantities collected from the site visits were compared with the ones calculated based on the Standard Measurement Methods used in Japan. The research found that the table can be revised by means of detailing down by several factors, namely project type, depth of soil, undersea-site shape, and condition on the sea for better estimation of its workable-quantity. The research will be the foundation for applying the rapid development of Construction Equipment and technology to the appropriate cost estimations and the ground work of related studies.

Rebar work takes up big proportion in a construction work. The current process of purchasing, cutting and election, and working of rebar induces a lot of loss in rebar. This study is focused on analyzing the problem and the present condition of the process from the calculating of rebar quantifies to the actual constructional stage through surveying those who have experience in the estimation department, or the construction site of a domestic construction company. Many reform measures such as diversification of standard(i.e., 8-meter)bar, calculation of rebar quantities and construction according to the rebar election drawing, expansion of accuracy in layout plan, thoroughness in examination of layout plan in advance, utilization of the worked material, systemization of rebar control(management), and a shift in attitude of the field(site) manager were proposed as the result of the survey.

The government has enacted legislation to enforce selective dismantling in order to increase the recycling of construction waste. Therefore, this study aims to propose a standard quantity per unit estimation method, crucial for determining the expenses associated with large-scale demolition projects necessary for public development, particularly in the context of extensive land development ventures. Four individual houses were thoroughly examined and tested. We surveyed the house to create a floor plan and conducted a detailed investigation of interior materials in order to propose a Standard Quantity per Unit for cost estimation of the selective dismantling work. The process encompassed precise measurement of the houses, creation of schematics, thorough scrutiny of interior materials, and division of the dismantling process into components such as ceilings, walls, and floors. The duration of each dismantling task was meticulously documented. Particular emphasis was placed on refining the methodology to accommodate factors such as window openings, thereby ensuring a heightened level of precision compared to preceding studies. The outcomes of this study are anticipated to serve as practical benchmarks for estimating costs in demolition projects, thereby fostering sustainable development within the construction industry.
With the rise of the economic level and the improvement of the standard of living the size of the interior work is becoming large and specialized, With the recent opening of the domestic interior decoration market the order of the large-scale interior decoration work is actively received and its efficient construction is vigorously made. Accordingly reliability is required in keeping with all the accuracy of computing interior construction expenses systematically is importantly emerging. The estimation sheet written in a kind of process mode and in an area made as the construction expense breakdown mode were statistically treated and analyzed as well as quantity computation breakdown data. In determing the major factors that expert an influence on the factors of changes in construction expenses as well as the compositional ratio of construction work that becomes basic material for developing the cost model of interior decoration work the following conclusion could be made: Improvement should be made to suit the present situation by synthesizing and arranging the data practically used in current interior construction expenses. Required construction expenses for the kind of work common to each construction field are showing a given proportion and the required construction expenses of rather small scale interior construction work tend to be irregular. It is necessary to compute optimal construction expenses by calculating the optimal period of work and working personnel in consideration of the influential factor in each work.
High speed railway challenge the design, construction and maintaining of traditional railway, many traditional design concepts have been changed. Transition of railway and bridge has two main problems. one is that different lines have different ability of resisting distortion in area of trial load, which was known that problem of smooth transition of stiffness, the other is that differential settlement between artificial structure and earth structure cause bending of railway. The two problems have effect on train moving. The principle of processing transition of railway and bridge is same in world, but it is difficult to find relationship between design standard of transition, vehicle performance, line standard, design speed and so on form documentation and data reports. Based on mechanics, the paper analyzed dynamic performance of transition of high speed railway, studied various rough elements which is effective to train moving, built mathematical model of interaction of train and transition of high speed railway and developed numerical simulation software. In various different work conditions, we did great quantity of numerical simulation, comprehensive analysis and performance analysis.
