  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop a quantitative evaluation model for the defense quality management system and suggest institutionalization plans. To this end, another existing evaluation model was reviewed and analyzed to develop a quantitative evaluation model applicable to military institutions. Methods: In this study, in order to establish a DQMS quantitative evaluation model, a military product quality level survey model and a defense quality model operated in the defense field were analyzed. In addition, evaluation models and indicators were analyzed by investigating evaluation models operated by other institutions and private sectors. Results: As a result of the study, the total score of the DQMS model was 1,000 points, 600 points for maturity level indicators and 400 points for operation performance indicators, and the evaluation items consisted of 7 major categories and 25 middle categories. The maturity level index 600 points are 70 points for organizational situation, 60 points for leadership, 40 points for planning, 100 points for support, 180 points for operation, 90 points for performance evaluation, and 60 points for improvement. Conclusion: It will be easy to quantify and evaluate the operating level of DQMS certified companies through the application of the DQMS quantitative evaluation model and evaluation criteria presented in this study. As a result, it will be possible to grasp the level of quality management system and the areas of improvement, and the overall level of improvement can be expected by inducing voluntary improvement activities through sharing of best practices and identifying improvement cases.

  • Purpose: Many domestic companies have to make out quantitative evaluation table in their proposal when they conduct the software R&D project. However, most of companies have a difficulty to select the evaluation items and criteria, also to derive a quantitative results. Therefore, we propose a method to derive the quantitative evaluation index by utilizing the ISO/IEC 9126-2. Methods: Analyzing ISO/IEC 9126-2, and we classify the quality metrics as high-classification and sub-classification for Web/App software, Embedded software and Installation software. Next, Conduct the metrics selection survey depending on importance and necessity. Then, carry out the case study. Verify the correspondence between evaluation items and criteria from original suggestion of company and from outcome by utilizing the ISO/IEC 9126-2 quality metrics. Results: It is possible to classify into two metrics, one for common software or one another for only special software. Furthermore, there is quality metrics that is more important and more necessary depending upon characteristics of the software. Conclusion: ISO/IEC 9126-2 quality metrics can be used to make an evaluation items and criteria for quantitative evaluation table of software product.

  • Variety of companies which carry out R&D projects supported by government are proposing quantitative evaluation index business plans. However, Many companies have difficulties in aspects of selecting quantitative evaluation index and in some cases they have troubles to get results from selecting unsuitable evaluation index. First of all, both methods of gathering the data to be analyzed and the products which are tested by the accredited testing institutes classifying by industrial sectors are classified as the quantitative evaluation index selected by the company according to the eight quality characteristics of ISO/IEC 25023 Standard. Secondly, based on the results of the quantitative evaluation indexes classified into eight quality characteristics of the ISO/IEC 25023 standard, the tendency of the quality characteristics of the quantitative evaluation indexes selected mainly by the companies will be understandable. It is hopefully expected that this research will be helpful to select a quantitative evaluation index to evaluate the quality of software products.

  • Although various quantitative indexes are used as criteria for deciding the success of software R & D projects, it is somewhat difficult to find which quantitative indexes are appropriate. In this paper, we propose a quantitative evaluation index generation process for software product development using ISO / IEC25023, which is used as a standard of software quality level, to provide criteria for quantitative evaluation index of software development. The proposed process consists of two stages. In the first step, quality characteristics and subcharacteristics of ISO / IEC25023 standard specification are derived and in the second stage, we derive an evaluation indicator guides that matches the quality characteristics and sub characteristics. The proposed quantitative evaluation index generation process is expected to be helpful for the selection of quantitative evaluation indexes according to the characteristics of software development projects.

  • Voice Recognition has recently been improved with AI(Artificial Intelligence) and has greatly improved the false recognition rate and provides an effective and efficient Human Machine Interface (HMI). This trend has also been applied in the defense industry, particularly in the aviation, F-35. However, for the quality evaluation of Voice Recognition, the defense industry, especially the aircraft, requires measurable quantitative models. In this paper, the quantitative evaluation model is proposed for applying Voice Recognition to aircraft. For the proposal, the evaluation items are identified from the Voice Recognition technology and ISO/IEC 25000(SQuaRE) quality attributes. Using these two perspectives, the quantitative evaluation model is proposed under aircraft operation condition and confirms the evaluation results.

  • This paper proposes the assessment method for objective quality-evaluation-index of mosaic images. Quality assessment was evaluated using seam-line method and similarity and contrast of adjacent images. The evaluation measure was calculated based on selected evaluation criteria and compared with human visual inspection. It was found that quantitative quality evaluation measure showed that the evaluation results were similar to human visual check. Conclusively experimental results proved that proposed evaluation measure could be used for quantitative and objective quality assessment of mosaic images.

  • Recently, software quality evaluation based on ISO/IEC 9126 and ISO/IEC 14598 has been widely accepted in various areas. However, these standards for software quality do not provide practical guidelines to apply the quality model and the evaluation process of software product=5. And the qualify management in most software projects has been conducted by managing defects without applying the standards for software qualify. Thus, we present a quantitative quality evaluation approach of artifacts in the Component Based Development (CBD). Particularly, our evaluation approach allows most of the standard evaluation process and adopts a quantitative quality model which uses the weights of quality characteristics obtained through carefully selected questionnaires for stakeholder and Analytic Hierarchical Process(AHP). Moreover, we have also examined the proposed evaluation approach with applying the checklists for the artifacts of the CBD to a small-scale software project. As a result, we believe that the proposed approach will be helpful for acquiring the high quality software.

  • Many researchers have proved that information systems auditing is a very effective tool for improving information systems quality. However, information system auditing in Korea still includes many subjective judgements. This study deals with applying a quantitative model to improve information system auditing quality on security domain. First of all, we have looked at previous researches on information systems audit, especially on security audit. Based on this survey, we have come up with solutions to improve the evaluation efficiency on security audit. We have merged the security audit guidelines of NCA and KISA, and developed a quantified evaluation scheme. We have proved the validity of this model by interviews with experts and by case studies.

  • As indoor air quality directly affects health and comforts of the residents, researchers from different countries have continued to explore criteria by which indoor air quality can be indicated in a scientific and quantitative manner over the past several decades. However, there are many possibilities that can deteriorate indoor air quality. Due to the uncertainty of influence factors, it is quite difficult to develop a correct evaluation model and quantitative method. Furthermore, the effects from the indoor air pollutants have different levels, leading to the difficulties to apply the regular standard. This study aims to propose evaluation criteria by using the FD-AHP analysis. Obtained findings will be beneficial to construct apartment buildings, commercial buildings and others health performance evaluation framework.

  • This study attempted to provide a spectrum analysis for quantitative evaluation of singing voice quality of singing students rather than the presence or absence of the singer's formant. The regression analysis was used to analyse the relationship between ringing quality, SPR, and SPP of singing voice of college student subjects majoring in music. This study measured singing. power ratio (SPR) in 41 singing students. Digital audio recordings were made in sung vowels for acoustic analyses. Each sample was judged by 1 experienced singing teacher and 4 voice pathologists on one semantic bipolar 7-point scales (ringing-dull). The results showed that the SPR and SPP had significant correlations with ringing quality. The SPR had a significant relationship with ringing quality on singing voice in singing students. The SPR can be an important quantitative measurement for evaluating singing voice quality.
