  • This study aims to contribute to the initial research on on-device AI in an environment where generative AI-based services on mobile and other on-device platforms are increasing. To derive success strategies for generative AI-based chatbot services in a mobile environment, over 200,000 actual user experience review data collected from the Google Play Store were analyzed using the LDA topic modeling technique. Interpreting the derived topics based on the Information System Success Model (ISSM), the topics such as tutoring, limitation of response, and hallucination and outdated informaiton were linked to information quality; multimodal service, quality of response, and issues of device interoperability were linked to system quality; inter-device compatibility, utility of the service, quality of premium services, and challenges in account were linked to service quality; and finally, creative collaboration was linked to net benefits. Humanization of generative AI emerged as a new experience factor not explained by the existing model. By explaining specific positive and negative experience dimensions from the user's perspective based on theory, this study suggests directions for future related research and provides strategic insights for companies to improve and supplement their services for successful business operations.

  • Purpose: This study validated the influential relations between the effects of emergency care quality, credibility of 119 emergency medical technicians (119 EMTs), and perceived usefulness and attitude of emergency care, focusing on the moderating effect of protectors' characteristics (education, experience, age, and recognition of patient severity). Methods: This study was based on elaboration likelihood and technology acceptance models. In total, 172 protectors with experience in utilizing prehospital service were surveyed from April 1 to July 31, 2011. Results: The results showed that the emergency care quality and the credibility of 119 EMTs were the main determinants of the perceived usefulness and attitude of emergency care, irrespective of the protector's characteristics (p <.001). In addition, the findings showed that the protector's intention of emergency care had a moderating role. The impact of the quality of emergency care on its perceived usefulness was greater for high-level protectors (p <.001). By contrast, the impact of the credibility of 119 EMTs on the perceived usefulness of emergency care was greater for low-level protectors (p <.001). Conclusion: The protectors' characteristics have different influences on the relations between the effects of emergency care quality, the 119 EMT credibility, and the perceived usefulness and attitude of emergency care.

  • This study examined the effect of English-language experience on Korean- and Japanese-English late learners' production of English unstressed vowels in terms of four acoustic phonetic features: F0, duration, intensity and vowel reduction. The learners manifested some improvement with experience. The native-like attainment of a phonetic feature, however, was related to the phonological status of that feature in the speakers' native language. The results suggest that the extent to which the non-native speakers' production of English unstressed vowels improved with English-language experience varied as a function of their native language background.

  • This study analyzes diverse factors in time poverty and quality of life in dual-earner families with preschool children that pertain to the individual, family, and occupation. Data were taken from the 17th edition of the Korean Labor and Income Panel Study developed by the Korea Labor Institute in 2014. The sample consists of 826 households who are dual-earner families with preschool children. The major findings are as follows. First, this study identified inadequacies in personal care time for dual-earner families with preschool children. Second, the results show that gender, recognition of gender role, and overall satisfaction of occupation are related to the time poverty of dual-earner families. Men are more likely to experience time poverty than women, and equal recognition of gender role and satisfaction of occupation indicate a negative relation on the time poverty of dual-earner families with preschool children. Last, quality of life in non-time-poor groups is higher than for groups who experience time poverty. Also, health state, earned income, work-family life conflict, and overall satisfaction of occupation are commonly related to quality of life in both groups. The results suggest implications for comprehensive policies to address family time issues.

The findings showed that the factors influencing the visual quality of life was wearing glasses, and the explanatory power for this 13.6%. Further research is needed considering the length of wearing glasses, contact lenses and severity of dry eyes.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to examine and compare satisfaction with Korean health care services for Americans, Chinese and Russians who resided in Korea. Methods: A questionnaire was distributed to 252 participants (81 Americans, 89 Chinese, 82 Russians). Three focus group interviews were subsequently conducted in order to obtain a greater understanding of participants' experience and perspectives. Results: The average satisfaction score was 3.09, with Americans and Russians showing significantly higher scores than Chinese. Overall, participants reported higher satisfaction in 'Facility', 'Quality of care' and 'Nursing services' as opposed to 'Information/education'. 'Care with cultural respect' as well as communication related services. Data from the focus group interviews were categorized into 12 sub-categories, 7 categories and 2 themes. The two themes were common experience and contrasting experience. Common experience included 4 categories, 'Quality of care', 'Hospital facility and health care system', 'Language barrier' and 'Information and education'. Contrasting experience included 3 categories, 'Medical cost', 'Health care personnel' and 'Accessibility'. Conclusion: Results of this study provide basic knowledge on foreign residents' satisfaction and experience with Korean health care services. Further research is needed with foreigners from different cultural backgrounds. Administrative and educational efforts are required to improve communication skills and cultural competency.

  • Purpose - This study investigates the relationship between firm-specific, general human capital and corporate innovation performance. Also, we examine when this relationship is more salient. Design/methodology/approach - We collected 1,195 survey data related to a sample of corporate innovation performance and human capital from 1) Korea Research for Vocational Education and Training and 2) NICE information service in Korea. In order to examine the corporate innovation performance, we use the ordered logit model. Findings - First, we find robust supports for our hypothesis that firm-specific and general human capital increase corporate innovation performance. Second, the effect of general human capital on corporate innovation performance is stronger when this relationship is combined with the firm international experience. Research implications or Originality - By integrating the human capital theory and corporate innovation literature, we propose that firm-specific and general human capital are the important determinant of innovation performance. The firm-specific human capital may increase innovation efficiencies. Also, retaining higher-quality general human capital is considered as an important innovation strategy since firms with higher-quality general human capital make greater innovation performance. Further, we show that the firm international experience is the crucial boundary condition. As a firm's experience in internationalization increases, firms can enhance the opportunities to develop new products by combining the skills and knowledge derived from general human capital with the experience gained through internationalization.

  • This study aimed to investigate the associations between subjective oral health status and OHIP-14 among Chinese residents. A survey was conducted on the Chinese residing in Busan. As a result of analyses on the collected data with SPSS 25.0 the OHIP-14 was significantly different depending on the subjective oral health status including mastication discomfort experience, toothache experience, oral temperature sensitive response experience, gingival bleeding and disease experience, dry mouth experience and halitosis experience. The major variables were all positively correlated. Among the factors of subjective oral health status affecting the oral health-related quality of life, the influences of mastication (p<0.001) and halitosis (p<0.05) were significant. There is a need for a medical support system that can provide practically oral health policies and support Korean language for foreigners.

  • The study is a user experience design study on the function of action cams used for leisure activities that have been on the rise recently. Along with the video platforms that are developing in a user-friendly way, the size of the action cam market is also growing. However, there is a lack of research on the quality of a function that enhances the user experience. Thus, this study classified action cam functions according to user experience elements by using Kano Model's analysis method and in-depth interview, and analyzed how the quality of action cam functions affects the user experience by conducting a satisfaction survey by function. The results of the study have shown which functions should be improved first and which functions should be continuously researched and invested. I hope this study will contribute useful information to developing user-centered action cams.
