In terms of environmental justice, urban parks play a pivotal role in imperative amenities allowing for physical activity. The reasonable distribution of urban park services must be considered in terms of community demand and the context of the park. The purpose of this study is to analyze the inequity of qualitative park service according to the socioeconomic status(SES) in Daegu. The qualitative service was assessed for 82 neighborhood and walking-distance parks by utilizing the NGST(Neighborhood Green Space Tool). The inequity was analyzed by SES variables(ratio of basic living recipients, ratio of single-parent families, average housing sales, dilapidated dwelling ratio, and park area per capita). The features of the qualitative equity in Daegu is as follows. First, urban park planning in Daegu is in parallel with the development of residential areas rather than the local policy. The development pattern of parks stretching from center of the city to outskirts clearly dissociates the city based on socioeconomic status. The parks in the center are relatively old and poorly managed. Second, overall neighborhood parks lacked recreational facilities. The facilities are significantly influenced by the housing values around them. The lower the recreation facility score, the higher the floor gradient of the urban parks constraining physical activities. Third, the quantitative supply of parks has nothing to do with the quality of the urban parks. Green space distribution is highly dependent on natural park areas, so the park area per capita cannot be a standard for assessing qualitative equity.
The aim of this study is to provide practical guide for exterior design in apartment and to propose a device to improve the quality of residential environment by the color planning. Color is a language of context and used as a visual aid to recognize the objects and spaces in the world around us. In this sense, each color perception is unique to its own setting and not subject to any universal rules of thumbs, Therefore, when designing with color, each setting will demand its own specific set of rules. A balanced color scheme has to make the environment more pleasant for people to live in . Fro the exterior in housing the use of color has to be considered not just in its wider context of the architecture or surrounding but as an element of the life of the inhabitant. So it is considered on the type of people who will live in and visual condition of site. In this study , the objective model of systematic design process for environmental color planning is proposed on the basis of theroetical background and references investigated, By the existing thesis, resident's preference of the exterior color and foumular of composition in apartment was invastigated . In general theories, based on the theory Birren's color harmony for color coordination an design principles, a device of exterior color design in apartment was suggested by the course of reasonable design process. Color in environment plays many different roles. It integrates the architecture with the site. If color is use well, it can soften architecture that is too harsh, it can give a sense of identity to different part of site and improve a city's image. The environmental color is effective media to enhance the aesthetic value of architecture and environment.

The purposes of this study were to classify the changing periods of apartment outdoor space in Korea and to clearly understand the specific characteristics of each period. The study has been done through on-site observation of apartment complexes, and through the analysis of housing estate planning techniques, rules and regulations affecting outdoor spaces during the rapidly developing era. The results of this study shows that three major periods with distinct characteristics were found, which were as follows: 1) The first well defined period spans from 1960 to 1990. In this period, apartment construction was rapid, and as a result, quality of housing environments were sacrificed. As little attention was given to the landscapes in apartment complex, they were constructed very simple and identical in outdoor space of apartment complex. This period can be referred to as the 'commonly universal period in apartment outdoor space'. 2) The second period spans from 1991 to 1996, during which time a housing construction project for two million residences was completed in order to significantly stimulate the provision of houses to the general public. As a result, regulations were relaxed causing housing environments to deteriorate. Although apartments were constructed very close together, there was some diversification and experimentation in outdoor styles. This period can be referred to as the 'congestion period of apartment outdoor space'. 3) The third period spans from 1997 to the present. During this time the number of unsold apartments has grown considerably throughout the country. Many different apartment complex marketing strategies have been employed to reduced the glut of unsold apartments. This experimental trend has continued and been well-received since the IMF period. The distinguishing characteristics of this period are the introduction of a rich natural landscape, the increase in communications among residents, the human oriented design, and the refined and elegant design for the outdoor street furnitures. As a result, this period can be named the "differentiation period of apartment outdoor space".

Purpose: As the improvement in quality of medical environment and the spatial consideration for the prevention of infection in the hospital have become increasingly important in the recent years, specific and practical planning for air conditioning room's area has become a major issue accordingly. However, the air conditioning room tends to be discussed focusing on technical factors such as air conditioning systems that are irrelevant to building plans, while discussions of most departments related to the medical functions have actively taken placed. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the factors influencing the planning for the air conditioning room area, and through subsequent analysis of the area of the air conditioning room, to propose a way to improve effective planning for the air conditioning room area. Methods: This study examines the case hospitals that fall into two types: each floor supply system and concentrated supply system, and compares and analyzes the air conditioning room area-related factors and the characteristics of changes in the interior of air conditioning room before and after remodeling through air conditioning floor plan of those case hospitals. Results: The air conditioning room can be classified into the net area of the functional space such as duct passages, and the public area such as aisle space, and of those the public area is an important factor in calculating the area of the air conditioning room. The public area of the air-conditioning room should not be planned considering only the spaces for mobile passage or maintenance activities, but should be planned taking into account internal changes such as expansion and replacement of equipment in the future from the beginning. Implications: When planning a medical facility, it is used as basic data for the planning of the air conditioning room area, which is a significant fixed factor in the initial setting.

Although many research efforts have been conducted to address the effect of crew members' work skills (e.g., technical and planning skills) on work performance (e.g., work duration and quality) in construction projects, the relationship between skill and performance has generated a great deal of controversy in the field of management (Inkpen and Crossan 1995). This controversy can lead to under- or over-estimations of the overall project schedule, and can make it difficult for project managers to implement appropriate managerial policies for enhancing project performance. To address this issue, the following aspects need to be considered: (a) work performances are determined not only by individual-level work skill but also by the group-level work skill affected by work team members, each member's role, and any working behavior pattern; (b) work planning has significant effects on to what extent work skill enhances performance; and (c) different types of activities in construction require different types of work, skill, and team composition. This research, therefore, develops a system dynamics (SD) model to analyze the effects of both individual-and group-level (i.e., multi-level) skill on performances by utilizing the advantages of SD in capturing a feedback process and state changes, especially in human factors (e.g., attitude, ability, and behavior). The model incorporates: (a) a multi-level skill evolution and relevant behavior development mechanism within a work group; (b) the interaction among work planning, a crew's skill-learning, skill manifestation, and performances; and (c) the different work characteristics of each activity. This model can be utilized to implement appropriate work planning (e.g., work scope and work schedule) and crew management policies (e.g., work team composition and decision of each worker's role) with an awareness of crew's skill and work performance. Understanding the different characteristics of each activity can also support project managers in applying strategic work planning and crew management for a corresponding activity, which may enhance each activity's performance, as well as the overall project performance.
Since pursuing the pleasant life for people, there is an increase of desire to appreciate outstanding scenery with the difference in certain level for perception and understanding of human on landscaping, However, the quality of landscaping has become artificial with the pleasance to be declining due to the urbanization. This study was applied at the site around High One Resort area in Gohan-eup, Jeongseon-gun Gangwon-do for analyzing the areas sensitive to the landscaping change as well as degree of requirement for landscape management for forest landscape management with the focus on presenting the zoning method and the management class classification method. Even if the forest is the same, the function of it is different depending on land use or what resource is placed that the forestry function is found out to present the management plan for each forestry function in the subject site and the result of the management grade classification is analyzed in overlapping to the forestry function level. As a result, from the landscaping management requirement and visual absorption analysis, the result formulated for upper, middle and lower zones to classify the final forestry landscape management degree into 1-4 grades and the management plan is presented on the respective 1-4 grade area for each forestry function. By applying the technique to set the management grade, it was possible to formulate the result to provide the means for integrated management in consideration of the forestry function and management of forestry landscape and resources.

Diversification of project delivery methods (PDM) under ever-changing construction business environment has significantly changed the role of project participants. Active efforts to effectively sharing the roles and responsibilities have been observed in the project management offices (PMOs) among owner/operator organizations as well as engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance (EPCM) firms. In order for being effective in a holistic way throughout the project life-cycle, a PMO needs to have 'adequate management skills' as well as 'essential technical capabilities' in cooperating with many different participants. One of the well-known examples of the PMO's tool to support these skills and capabilities is the effective 'work packaging (WP)' that serves as a common basis integrating all relevant information in a structured manner. In an attempt to enhance the construction productivity, the concept of 'advanced work packing (AWP)' has been introduced by Construction Industry Institute (CII). The AWP enables productivity to be improved by early planning of construction packages in the design phase "with the end in mind". The purpose of this study is to identify and evaluate the 'variables' of advanced work packing (AWP) for life-cycle information integration. Firstly, an extended concept of advanced WP based on the CII AWP was defined in order to comprehend many different issues of business functions (e.g. cost, schedule, quality, etc.). A structured list of major components and variables of AWP were then identified and examined for practical viability with real-world examples. Strategic fits and managerial effectiveness were stressed throughout the analyses. Findings, implications and lessons learned are briefly discussed as well.

As international criteria and standards are required in the fields of design and construction, landscape performance must also be considered not only for the value of the landscape but also for providing quality assurance and sustainability. Given the lack of research on landscape performance, the present research was purposed to analyze the importance of potential assessment categories and items using an analytical network process. A list of assessment items, which is composed of 20 items and 6 categories, was derived through a literature review and a preliminary survey of 11 landscape professionals. An ANP model was established and a survey was conducted among 30 landscape practitioners to determine the weight of priorities considering the criteria. The results of ANP showed that the categories of site selection, preservation and health, and convenience had high priorities while materials had the lowest importance score. For the assessment items, a monitoring plan was the highest importance, followed by cultural/ historic preservation, management cost reduction, and natural ground areas. Despite the difficulties in quantifying landscape achievements, most respondents agreed that there needs to be an evaluation system for landscape performance in order to assure the quality and sustainability of landscape development. More research and discussion are needed to develop an assessment system for landscape performance that is applicable to Korean context.
This study intends to analyze the various spatial structures and characteristics of the museum based on the two of the Renzo Piano's recent projects Menil Collection '||'&'||' Museum and Beyeler Foundation Museum Which defined the direction of the "Third Generation" in museum architecture with reference to the quality of spatial experience and design applications. Comparison and analysis were done on the basic spatial organization floor layout accessibility exhibition area lighting plan and circulation between the two museum. Through the itemized common characteristics of the museum the architect's proposal on meaning and direction of the new museum architecture can be viewed. The contemporary museums distinguish themselves quite clearly from their predecessors and this applies both to their own form and to their spatial organization. As the public demands and requests toward the museum building facility expand everyday the architect must respond by providing multiple types of space where people can experience different atmosphere in each area. One concept he used to create multi experienced area was manipulation of the natural light using by the state-of-the-art techniques of the light filtering system and multi-layering roof system to protect the valuable collections against the direct sunlight. But mainly it was to prove his strong belief in "architecture of light" by creating space with minimized meaning by purposely distinguished area in order to provide maximum support to the physical value of the collection " The connection with nature" is another concept which Piano used to provide the public a tranquil experience through out the architecture which engages in a lively dialogue with art. In spatial organization Piano concerned on functionality which not only concentrated on the visitor's point of view but also on the museum staff's comfort. Sedum takesimenses among the Korean Native Genus Sedum was selected as evergreen ground covers during winter in the central districts of Korea. In order to obtain basic information for production as a pot flower with good quality, the effects of pinching frequencies on growth and flowering of S. takesimense were investigated. S. takesimense plant height became much shorter and numbers of lateral shoots were increased with increased pinching. Shoots of S. takesimense treated with 30% pinching during 2004 and 2005 showed greater length and less number of lateral shoots than those with 60% pinching. Leaves of S. takesimense treated with 70% shading showed a dark green color and had a longer shoot length and a lower number of shoots than cultivation under full sunlight. Therefore, Korean native S. takesimense will be utilized as ground cover treated with 70% shading or under a tree. Therefore, S. takesimense will be promising as ground cover materials in the central districts of Korea.
