우성 캐릭터 199에 고강도 콘크리트 적용에 관한 연구 (The Application of High Strength Concrete on Woo-Sung Character 199 Project)

  • The objective of this study is to investigate material properties and quality control of cast-in-place high strength concrete. High strength concrete with a design strength of 420 kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ is successfully produced at a ready-mixed concrete plant, and placed at a tall building. Many laboratory and field tests are carried out for the successful construction of the reinforced high strength concrete building. As the results of this study, the average actual 28-day compressive strength is 513 kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and the coefficient of variation is 6.8%. The placing speed is comparable to normal strength concrete, however, the pump pressure is higher than that of normal strength concrete. To prevent cracks of massive and long concrete members, the control of hydration heat and shrinkage is very important.

  • The bottom slab of Inchon LNG in-ground #213 tank is designed as a massive structure witch has a large depth and section. The purpose of this study is to determine the optimum mix design having good workability and low hydration heat for bottom slab concrete and to control the actual concrete quality in site. For this purpose, we select the optimum mix design used ternary blended cement(furnace slag cement+fly ash) and design factors. As test results of actual application, we have finish placing the bottom slab concrete of 23,180㎥ during 68hours with good success and obtain the good quality of fresh and hardened concrete including slump, air contents, no-segregation, compressive strength and low hydration heat in actual data. All test results are satisfied with our specifications for bottom slab concrete and we cut costs as the use of ternary blended cement and the reduction of placing hours.

  • Concrete is still one most common construction materials even in railway structures. As structures become massive and mega-sized, the importance of early age concrete quality control becomes more significant. Among various factors, relative humidity and temperature are the primary factors governing the early age quality. Temperature raise due to cement hydration causes stress, which can develop to cracking with internal and/or external restraints. Exposure conditions including ambient temperature, humidity and wind also significantly affect the cracking behavior of early age concrete. Among many of studies on the early age concrete behavior, investigation on the variation of temperature and relative humidity internal of concrete is not common. That is in part because the difficulties in measuring the relative humidity and temperature inside the concrete. This study used a digital sensor with an appropriate logger to measure internal temperature and relative humidity. This direct measuring method is expected to provide more reliable and comprehensive data acquisition on the early age behavior of concrete.

  • The mat foundation of Tower Palace III is designed as a massive structure which has a 3.5m depth. The purpose of this study is to determine the optimum mix design having good workability and to control the actual concrete quality in site. For this purpose, we select the Self Compacting Concrete. Recently, the Self Compacting Concrete has been applied to achieve workability improvement. As the result of actual application, we have finished placing the mass concrete of 8, 000m$^3$ during 14hours with good success and obtain the good quality concrete. All test results are satisfied with our specifications for mat foundation and cut cost as the reduction of placing hours.

  • Recently, efforts are made to apply 200MPa levels of ultra-high strength concrete to structures exceeding 40MPa.. Ultra-high strength concrete has been steadily researched in Korea as well as abroad, and now it is equipped with 200MPa ultra-high strength concrete mixing technology. Because ultra-high strength concrete has a higher range of compressive strength than ordinary concrete, it is difficult to accurately measure the compressive strength of UHPC concrete with existing compressive strength measuring equipment and can be less reliable. In this study, the compressive strength of the SC80 was measured according to the test method to compare the compressive strength of the SC80 by applying various methods of measurement of compressive strength. The compressive strength test method measured the compressive strength according to the size of the specimen, the grinding method, and the capacity of the UTM equipment.

  • Recently, trouble of sand supplying is occurred according to exhaustion of natural sand resources. Therefore various measures are proposed for solution of trouble of sand supply and crushed sand among measures is used as one of most universal measures. But because crushed sand have poor particle shape and plenty of makes micro particle, the quality of concrete using crushed sand deteriorated. Therefore, this study evaluated engineering property of concrete with replacement ratio of crushed sand and EEZ sand and applied evaluation result to fundamental data for quality control of concrete using crushed sand and EEZ sand. The result of this study have shown that quality of concrete using crushed sand and EEZ sand and The compressive strength of concrete up to 50, 70% EEZ sand replacement by crush sand, nearly equal to that of general sand.

  • In the latest, the construction period became the most important factor in the domestic building works because buildings is higher and larger gradually. Accordingly, cold-weathering concrete constructions are performed more and more. So, the demands of concrete quality management methods are increased in cold-weathering concrete constructions. In this study, the mock-up experiment was performed to correct input data in the kimpo H construction field. Using the results of this experiment, the method of temperature analysis was presented to prevent early aged freezing damage and to control thermal crack in this study.

  • Concrete mix degign and adjustments are somewhat complicated and time-consuming tasks in which various uncertainties and errors are involved and depend on the quality control test results. In this paper, as a tool to minimize the uncertainties and errors the neural network is applied to the concrete mix design. Input data to train and test the neural network are obtained from the results of design and adjustments following the concrete standard specifications of Korea. The results show that neural networks have a strong potential as a tool for concrete mix design.
