SWAT을 이용한 AR5 기후변화 시나리오에 의한 섬진강 요천유역의 유량 및 오염부하량 변화 예측 (Estimations of flow rate and pollutant loading changes of the Yo-Cheon basin under AR5 climate change scenarios using SWA)

  • Two climate change scenarios, the RCP (Representative Concentration Pathways) 4.5 and the RCP 8.5 in the fifth Assessment Report (AR5) by Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), were applied in the Yocheon basin area using the SWAT (Soil and Water Assessment Tool) model to estimate changes in flow rates and pollutant loadings in the future. Field stream flow rate data in Songdong station and water quality data in Yocheon-1 station between 2013~2015 were used for model calibration. While $R^2$ value of flow rate calibration was 0.85 and $R^2$ value of water qualities were in the 0.12~0.43 range. The total study period was divided into 4 sub periods as 2030s (2016~2040), 2050s (2041~2070) and 2080s (2071~2100). The predicted results of flow rates and water quality concentrations were compared with results in calibrated periods, 2015s (2013~2015). In both RCP scenarios, flow rate and TSS (Total Suspended Solid) loadings were estimated to be in increasing trend while TN (Total Nitrogen) and TP (Total Phosphorus) loadings showed decreasing patterns. Also, flow rates and pollutant loadings showed larger differences between the maximum and the minimum values in RCP 4.5 than RCP 8.5 scenarios indicating more severe effect of drought and flood, respectively. Dependent on simulation period and rainfall periods in a year, flow rate, TSS, TN and TP showed different trends in each scenario. This emphasizes importance of considerations on time and space when analyzing climate change impacts of each variable under various scenarios.

강릉 주문진항 COD 및 영양염류의 농도변화 양상 분석 (Change Pattern Analysis of the COD and Nutrient Concentration in Jumunjin Harbour, Gangneung)

  • 주문진항에서 2002년부터 2005년까지 월별로 관측한 COD, 총질소(TN), 총인(TP) 항목의 정점별, 계절별 변화 양상을 분석하였다. 전반적으로 상층의 오염도가 하층에 비하여 높게 나타났으며, 상층과 하층의 COD 및 TN, TP 항목 농도차이는 주문진항 내부영역이 방파제 전면해역에 비하여 크게 나타났다. COD 농도는 변화 폭이 시기에 따라 다르지만 계절별 변동양상이 뚜렷하고, 암모니아성질소 및 TN 항목도 계절별 변동양상이 뚜렷하게 나타난다. 지점별, 월별 자료를 영역별, 연도별로 평균하여 해수교환시설 및 하수종말처리시설의 수질개선효과를 정량적으로 분석한 결과, COD 항목은 2003년도에는 미미한 변화를 보이고 있으며, 2004년, 2005년에는 모든 영역에서 $34{\sim}47%$ 정도 COD 농도저하가 계산되었다. 또한, TN 항목도 해수교환 시설에 의한 영향이 우세한 것으로 판단되었다. 해수교환 시설이 TN 농도저하에 미친 영향은 영역 1, 영역 2, 영역 3 순서로 각각 $60{\sim}70%,\;40{\sim}60%,\;40%$내외 정도로 산정되었다. 따라서, 해수교환시설이 COD 및 TN 농도저하, 즉 수질개선에 미치는 영향은 주문진항 내부영역으로 국한되지 않고, 주문진항 입구 및 방파제 전면해역으로 확장되고 있는 것으로 판단된다.

  • Chilli peppers are predominantly cultivated in open field systems under abiotic and biotic stress conditions. Abiotic and biotic factors have a considerable effect on plant performance, fruit quantity, and quality. Chilli peppers grow well in a tropical climate due to their adaptation to warm and humid regions with temperatures ranging from 18 to 30℃. Nowadays, chilli peppers are cultivated all around the world under different climatic conditions, and their production is gradually expanding. Expected climate changes will likely cause huge and complex ecological consequences; high temperature, heavy rainfall, and drought have adverse effects on the vegetative and generative development of all agricultural crops including chilli peppers. To gain better insight into the effect of climate change, the growth, photosynthetic traits, morphological and physiological characteristics, yield, and fruit parameters of chilli peppers need to be studied under simulated climate change conditions. Moreover, it is important to develop alternative agrotechnologies to maintain the sustainability of pepper production. There are many conceivable ideas and concepts to sustain crop production under the extreme conditions of future climate change scenarios. Therefore, this review provides an overview of the adverse impacts of climate change and discusses how to find the best solutions to obtain a stable chilli pepper yield.

기능교정이 만성 허리 통증 환자의 통증과 기능장애 및 건강관련 삶의 질에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Functional Adjustment Procedure on Pain, Dysfunction and, Health-related Quality of Life in Patients with Chronic Low Back Pain)

  • PURPOSE: This study was conducted to verify the effects of a functional correction of the pain of patients with chronic low back pain(CLBP), and to examine the effect of dysfunctional factors on health-related quality of life. METHODS: A preliminary survey was first conducted on 90 patients with CLBP after functional orthodontic treatment. Some revised questionnaires were also prepared. The survey was distributed for approximately eight weeks, and 215 copies were used as the final analysis data, except for questionnaires that were inadequate, error or non-response. RESULTS: Path analysis using the structural equation model of CLBP patients showed a positive correlation between all the path coefficients and the potential factors. The multidimensional relationship between pain and dysfunction after orthognathic treatment was confirmed using three subdivisions of the pain variables as independent variables and the dysfunctional variables as the dependent variables. Multiple regression analysis was performed to examine the effects of pain on the dysfunction. To identify the multidimensional relationship between dysfunction and the health-related quality of life, eight sub-factors of dysfunctional variables were set as the independent variables, and multiple regression was analyses were performed with the dependent variables of the health-related quality of life. CONCLUSION: This study examined the structural and influence relationships of the functional correction with pain, dysfunction, and health-related quality of life. The results, suggest that a functional orthodontic treatment can be used as a positive program for the health-related quality of life. In addition, this study is meaningful in that it provieds useful information for intervention such as psychosocial change of patients.

건조 대추의 변형기체포장 (Modified Atmosphere Packaging of Dry Jujube)

  • Effect of modified atmosphere packaging conditions on quality changes of dry jujube was investigated. Dry jujubes with moisture content of 26.7% were packaged in PET/Al/PE film pouches with modified atmospheres. The tested packages include those with normal air, vacuum, CO2 flushing, N2 flushing and O2 scavenger. Packages were stored at 25$^{\circ}C$ for 6 months, during which ascorbic acid concentration, browning level, titratable acidity and surface color were measured. Generally modified atmosphere packages could improve quality retention of dry jujubes except that vacuum package resulted in large surface color change. CO2-flushed package showed the best quality retention of high ascorbic acid content and low browning during 112 days, but caused high amounts of ascorbic acid destruction and browning in longer storage. In all the modified atmosphere packages titratable acidity reached a maximum followed by decline and subsequent rise, while it increased linearly with time in normal air package. Considering ascorbic acid retention browning level and surface color changes during 112 days, the packages of CO2 flushing and N2 flushing were better than others.

A Dimensionless Index for Quantitative Evaluation of Apple Freshness

  • Though the freshness for agricultural products is an important factor related to their quality management, this terminology is being used restrictedly because it is very subjective. In this study, a dimensionless index which had the span of the maximum of 1 through the minimum of 0 was proposed to describe freshness of the product with time-variant quality and was applied to Tsugaru and Fuji apples. First, the compressive properties having the linearity in their change regarding time elapsed after harvest were selected. For Tsugaru apple, bio-yield and rupture forces had high correlation with time while for Fuji, bio-yield and rupture deformations had high correlations. When the slope, or ratio of force to deformation, was considered, the effect of cultivar could be neglected. When the linearly time-variant compressive properties for Tsugaru and Fuji apples were involved in the freshness indices, they described well freshness of apples. Also, the freshness decay constant depicted a characteristic which related to freshness decay rate. Therefore, the freshness index can be utilized to manage the quality during storage and distribution of apples.

하천 수질에 대한 36시간 연속 모니터링 기법 연구 (36hrs Continuous Monitoring Methodology for Effluent and Receiving Water Quality)

  • The main point source of pollution of the Keumho river in Taegu, Korea, stems from waste from the areas of industrial complexes . Although it is widely accepted that pollutants in waste water negatively effects general water quality, it is difficult to evaluate the effluent effect because of varying conditions in ambient water and inconclusive knowledge of causative pollutants. To analyze the water in relation to the industrial effluent in the area, pH. temperature, conductivity, and Microtox toxicity of various river samples were measured. Water samples were collected every 2 hours for 36 hours from Keumho river and Dalseo stream. Data from continuous monitoring for 36 hours showed that effluent in Keumho river originated from Dalseo stream, which is near adjacent to industrial complexes. Change in toxicity and other factors tested during the 36 hours indicated that continuous monitoring was necessary for a satisfactory effluent toxicity test Furthermore, in addition to water quality monitoring, it was concluded that sediment toxicity also needed to evaluate effluent effects.

  • This paper studied two factors for the manufacturing companies whose number of employee are under three hundred. One is the effect of the observation of quality system under the CEO's interest degree of quality management. First, most of company answered acquiring certificate ISO 9000 is very helpful for the company management .therefore the company have competence for the change of economic environment of domestic and international economy. Second, after acquiring the certificate ISO 9000, there were many improvements in company culture, quality control and business process productivity. As a result, acquisition of certificate of ISO 9000 system makes the company culture preparing the future to become a world first class company.

Effect of Land Use Type on Shallow Groundwater Quality

  • Groundwater monitoring wells (about 70 wells) were extensively installed in 28 sites surrounding Lake Texoma, located on the border of Oklahoma and Texas, to assess the impact of geochemical stressors to shallow groundwater quality. The monitoring wells were classified into three groups (residential area, agricultural area, and oil field area) depending on their land uses. During a two-year period from 1999 to 2001 the monitoring wells were sampled every three months on a seasonal basis. Water quality assay consisted of 25 parameters including field parameters, nutrients, major ions, and trace elements. Occurrence and level of inorganics in groundwater samples were related to the land-use and temporal change.

절임배추의 품질 유지에 미치는 칼슘제제의 효과 (Effect of Calcium Treatments on Storage Quality of Salted Chinese Cabbage)

  • Salted Chinese cabbage were dipped in solutions of CaCl2 (0.1%, 0.5%, 1.0%), Ca-lactate (0.5%) alone, or with chlorine (NaOCl 200ppm) and stored at 3 or 23$^{\circ}C$ to determine the effects of calcium (Ca) on storage quality. pH change and microbial growth of salted cabbage were reduced in CaCl2 of 0.1% and 1.0% more than in the water-dipped control but better than in NaOCl treatment at two temperatures. Storage quality of salted cabvage was not affected by Ca contents or Ca with Cl treatment.
