A stochastic model based tracking control scheme for flexible robot manipulators

  • The presence of joint elasticity or the arm flexibility causes low damped oscillatory position error along a desired trajectory. We utilize a stochastic model for describing the fast dynamics and the approximation error. A second order shaping filter is synthesized such that its spectrum matches that of the fast dynamics. Augmenting the state vector of slow part with that of shaping filter, we obtain a nonlinear dynamics to which a Gaussian white noise is injected. This modeling approach leads us to the design of an extended Kalman filter(KEF) and a linear quadratic Gaussian(LQG) control scheme. We present the simulation results of this control method. The simulation results show us that our Kalman filtering approach is one of prospective methods in controlling the flexible arms.

  • 제안한 Taylor모델 개념은 단지 입출력 데이터만을 이용하여 제어기를 설계하기 위해 사용되는데, Taylor모델의 매개변수는 입출력 데이터들을 사용하여 추정되고 제어기는 Taylor모델을 통하여 얻어진다. Taylor모델 근사화의 정확성은 관측창의 크기와Taylor모델의 차수가 커짐에 따라 좋아진다. Taylor모델을 이용한 전력계통의 안정화를 위해 LQR 제어기가 제안되고 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 기존의 방법과의 성능을 비교한다.

  • Optmal topology design is to search the optimal layout of the structure which can be used fot the shape of the conceptual design stage. Our objective is to maximize the stiffness of the structure under a material usage constraint. The density of each finite element is the design variable and its relationship with Young's modulus is expressed by quadratic form. The shape is represented by the entire density distribution, the structural analysis is performed by finite element method and the optimization is achieved by feasible direction method. Unlike optimality criteria method,feasible direction method can handle various problems simultaneously, that is, multi- objectives and multi-constraints. Total optimization time can be reduced by the approximation of the material property and fewer design variables than homogenization method. Topology optimization is applied to design the shape of ribs.

  • This paper focuses on robust $H_{\infty}$ control for bilinear systems with time-varying parameter uncertainties via state feedback. The suitable robustly stabilizing feedback control law can be constructed in term of solution to a state variable x-dependent quadratic Riccati equation using successive approximation technique. Also, the state feedback control law robustly stabilizes the plant and guarantees a robust $H_{\infty}$ performance for the closed-loop bilinear system with parameter uncertainties and exogenous disturbance.

  • In this paper, Fuzzy Self-organizing Neural Networks(FSONN) based on Fuzzy Neural Networks(FNN) is proposed to overcome some problems, such as the conflict between ovefitting and good generation, and low reliability. The proposed FSONN consists of FNN and SONN. Here, FNN is used as the premise part of FSONN and SONN is the consequnt part of FSONN. The FUN plays the preceding role of FSONN. For the fuzzy reasoning and learning method in FNN, Simplified fuzzy reasoning and backpropagation learning rule are utilized. The number of layers and the number of nodes in each layers of SONN that is based on the GMDH method are not predetermined, unlike in the case of the popular multi layer perceptron structure and can be generated. Also the partial descriptions of nodes can use various forms such as linear, modified quadratic, cubic, high-order polynomial and so on. In this paper, the optimal design procedure of the proposed FSONN is shown in each step and performance index related to approximation and generalization capabilities of model is evaluated and also discussed.

  • As the electrical power industry is restructured and the electrical power exchange is updated per hour, it is important to accurately and rapidly quantify ATC of the transmission system. This paper proposed QFA method, which can reduce calculation time comparing with CPF method and has few errors in ATC calculation. It proved that the method can calculate ATC more fast and accurately in case study using IEEE 24 bus RTS(MRTS) and 7 bus.

  • 전력계통의 과도 안정도 해석의 접근방법에는 SI(Simultaneous Implicit)법과 PE(Partitioned Explicit)법 두 가지방법을 사용해오고 있다. SI법에는 Trapezoidal법 등이 있고, PE법에는 Runge-Kutta법, Euler법등이 사용되고 있다. SI법인 Trapezoidal법은 PE법의 Runge-Kutta법 또는 Euler법에 비해 시간간격을 크게 해서 계산속도를 줄일 수 있다는 장점이 있지만, 정화도면에서는 신뢰한 수 없는 단점이 있다. 이 논문에서는 포물선 사법을 이용하여 Trapezoidal법의 정확도를 개선학 수 있는 방법을 제시하고 명확한 수학적 증명을 통해 타당성을 보여준다. 연속함수와 불연속함수에 대해서 Runge-Kutta법과 Trapezoidal법과 제안한 방법을 적용시켜서 제안한 방법의 정화함을 보여준다.

  • An incremental Total Lagrangian Formulation is implemented for the finite element analysis of laminated composite pressure vessel with consideration of the material and geometric nonlinearities. For large displacements/large rotations due to geometric nonlinearities, the incremental equations are derived using a quadratic approximation for the increment of the reference vectors in terms of the nodal rotation increments. This approach leads to a complete tangent stiffness matrix. For material nonlinearity, the analysis is performed by using the piecewise linear method, taking account of the nonlinear shear stress-strain relation. The results of numerical tests include the large deflection behavior of the selected composite shell problem. When compared with the previous analysis, tile results are in good agreement with them. As a practical example, filament wound pressure vessel is analyzed with consideration of the geometrically and materially nonlinearity. The numerical results agree fairly well with the existing experimental results.

Sensitivity Analysis of the Galerkin Finite Element Method Neutron Diffusion Solver to the Shape of the Elements

  • The purpose of the present study is the presentation of the appropriate element and shape function in the solution of the neutron diffusion equation in two-dimensional (2D) geometries. To this end, the multigroup neutron diffusion equation is solved using the Galerkin finite element method in both rectangular and hexagonal reactor cores. The spatial discretization of the equation is performed using unstructured triangular and quadrilateral finite elements. Calculations are performed using both linear and quadratic approximations of shape function in the Galerkin finite element method, based on which results are compared. Using the power iteration method, the neutron flux distributions with the corresponding eigenvalue are obtained. The results are then validated against the valid results for IAEA-2D and BIBLIS-2D benchmark problems. To investigate the dependency of the results to the type and number of the elements, and shape function order, a sensitivity analysis of the calculations to the mentioned parameters is performed. It is shown that the triangular elements and second order of the shape function in each element give the best results in comparison to the other states.

연속적 근사화 방법을 이용한 쌍일차 정규섭동 시스템의 최적제어기 설계 (Design of a Controller Using Successive Approximation for Weakly Copled Bilinear Systems)

  • The infinite time optimum to regulate the problem of weakly coupled bilinear systems with a quadratic performance criterion is obtained by a sequence of algebraic Lyapunov equations. The new approach is based on the successive approximations. In particular, the order reduction is achieved by using suitable state transformation so that the original Lyapunov equations are decomposed into the reduced-order local Lyapunov equations. The proposed algorithms not only solve optimal control problems in the weakly coupled bilinear system but also reduce the computation time. This paper also includes an example to demonstrate the procedures.
