A Study on the Application of UPQC in AC Railway System (교류철도급전계통에 전력품질보상장치 적용에 관한 연구)

  • The AC railway system is quite differing from the general electric power system because it is single- phase and intermittently heavy loads. Thus, inevitably power quality problems are occurred in the AC railway system, i.e. voltage regulation voltage sags, voltage imbalance, and harmonic distortion. Recently, the power quality of the AC railway system becoming a hot issue because it is affect the control and safety of high-speed traction. In addition it is also affect the power quality of the electric power system. In this paper, single-phase Unified Power Quality Conditioner(UPQS) for the AC railway system is proposed to compensate the voltage sags and harmonic distortion. The configurations and control schemes of the proposed single-phase UPQC are presented. The effectiveness of the proposed single-phase UPQC application is verified by the PSCAD/EMTDC simulation works. It can be shown that the application of UPQC in the AC railway system is very useful to compensate the voltage sags and harmonic distortion from the results of related simulation works.

  • According to database and information technology development, many interests of database quality control have being increase. The purpose of database quality control is improvement quality of data itself as well as database system to satisfy user's need. As this paper was especially written about quality control of bibliographic database, to embody complete bibliographic database, it was invested numerous errors and its case by analyzing MARC records. In addition, it was presented that high degree's cataloging education, introduction of su n.0, pporting systems, and development of intelligent quality control system for quality improvement.

  • This paper proposes assessment of quality management activities based on cost of quality. Cost of quality is considered prevention cost, appraisal cost, internal failure cost, external failure cost in this paper. This paper shows quality cost magement system in thermal power site devision according to activity analysis. Cost of quality in power industries provides a valuable method of both proving the need for improvement and giving a starting point for projects.

  • Quality improvement activities are especially important in middle to small-sized hospitals as well as in large hospitals. Hospital accreditation would play a crucial role in the re-establishment of the healthcare delivery system, which is now nearly collapsed in Korea. To achieve all these goals, it is also important to educate prospective medical personnel at college on the concepts of quality improvement and patient safety.

  • To be able to present authenticity, or to cope with patent related cases or any possible law suite for intellectual. The purpose of this study was to investigate factors affecting the satisfaction of records and information management system on the construction industry. Data was collected through a survey of 129 employees who work for A engineering company. Independent variables in this study included system quality, information quality, and service quality. Latent variable was selected as easy of use and usefulness. Dependent variable was user's satisfaction for the system. The results of analysis of structural equation modeling showed that system quality was found to have both direct and indirect impacts on user's satisfaction. On the other hand, information quality was significant only in direct impact on ease of use. Service quality was not statistically significant in the effect on user's satisfaction.

  • If we followed to be based on the result of survey for researching on the actual condition about e-Learning of the MOE(2004), the critical problem has been suggested managing the quality of teaching and learning materials(37.68%(1775/4717)). If we also reviewed the research of the KICE(2002), the superior material's rate of 70,000 teaching and learning materials of the web site, the educational organization, and teachers was 8.7%. There was some suggestions about the quality problem of the teaching and learning material, but there wasn't the alternative policy: there wasn't the systemic program for managing the message quality of teaching and learning materials. The purpose of this study was to develop the alternative system for managing the message quality of teaching and learning materials. The alternative system of this study's result will be the basic to build the system for managing the message quality of teaching and learning materials. I expect that my system will be the useful tool for managing the message quality of teaching and learning materials.

  • The purpose of this research is to find the effect of the user's satisfaction according to the quality factor of the National Tax Service tax information system on the business performance of the tax officials. In this research, the quality factor of tax information system was divided into information quality, system quality, and service quality and the importance of the user's satisfaction and business performance was suggested. As the result of analysis, the suggested model showed acceptable data suitability and all of the suggested 4 hypotheses had an statistically meaningful effect. Accordingly, it could be identified that the quality factor of the tax information system had a positive effect on user's satisfaction when the tax officials conduct taxation business and that the tax officials with high satisfaction in using the tax information system showed greater business performance.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to develop the qualification system for training of Quality improvement professionals who work for improving patients' safety and healthcare quality. Methods : Based on the various laws and regulations, and the operational status of other professionals' qualification systems, a basic plan of professional qualification system of QI was drawn. And through meetings with QI experts, the final scheme of the concrete qualification system was developed. Results : For management of professionals's certification or qualification, fairness and reliability are important. To do this, setting the official standard, providing a standardized training program and having appropriate qualification test are required. In order to operate the qualification system strategically, 1) the introduction step, 2) dissemination and expansion step, and 3) fusing step should be considered. As a governing body for QI specialists' qualification, 'QI professionals' qualification Center (tentative)' must have the committee to assure fairness, professionalism, and reliability. In addition, 'QI Experts Certification Department (tentative)" to develop standards for the qualification tests and conduct the tests program,' QI experts Education Department (tentative name)" must be able to operate and maintain the QI training for professional qualifications. QI professional qualification exam must be taken by everyone regardless of age, gender, race, occupation, education, and work experience. The examination should include management, leadership, strategic planning and design, quality management, health care information, patient safety culture. Practical training courses can have three step programs; beginning, intermediate and special level. Conclusion : The QI qualification system need strategic approaches for the experts working for healthcare quality improvement and patient safety. It should include the program of standardized contents and test, and operating protocol of the qualificaton system.

  • This study is a study on the implementation and operation of smart air cleaning system to improve indoor air quality. Recently, the problem of indoor air quality is getting serious due to various environmental factors. In this study, to improve the problems of indoor air quality, we implement an air cleaning system using IoT sensor. In particular, we proposed a system that can measure air pollution in real time and change different air flow paths according to pollution level. Through this, we examined efficient air quality improvement, extension of filter life, and system energy reduction. In addition, the main functions of the indoor air quality improvement system were constructed and prototypes were manufactured to confirm the operability. Finally, the utility of fine dust resolution through the implementation of the indoor air quality improvement system was examined.

  • In this paper, the queueing system in series is studied. The system is a tandem queueing system which has three stations. In system, one service station has a general distributions and two service stations have exponential distribution. Each station has a single server. The customer arrives with Poisson process and is serviced sequentially. It is assumed that the order of stations does not affect the quality of services. Using the light traffic approximations, the optimal order of the system which has the three stations is decided.
