Purpose: The purpose of this study was to categorize and to understand the structure of subjectivity in the gender role identity of older female adults. The perception of gender role identity is subjective and varies according to the uniqueness of individual experiences and the value of social culture. Methods: Q-methodology, a technique for extracting subjective opinions was used. In 2010, forty participants completed the Q-sort activity, rating each statement relative to the others. The Q sample has two categories, representing masculinity and femininity, and each category has 20 statements, resulting in 40 adjectives. Results: Using the Q factor analysis, three classifications were identified: 'caring-affectionate type,', 'assertive-confident type,' and 'sensitive-affectionate type.' Despite the differences among the three types in this research, elderly females are likely to have the understanding and patience to comfort others and care for the children. Conclusion: The results of this study revealed new dimensional types of gender role identity and raise the issue of why we need to develop methods for the new dimensional types. Based on the results, further research is needed to compare the findings with those of older males or with women of different age groups.
Purpose: This study aims to categorize the subjective perception of suicide of young social workers in their 20s and 30s, and to explore the factors constituting each type, and used the Q methodology. Research design, Research method: As a research method, the Q population was derived through in-depth interviews and literature research, and the final 23 Q statements were confirmed. Next, 30 social workers in their 20s and 30s were classified by normal distribution on a 7-point scale as a P sample. The collected data were analyzed using the QUANL-PC program. Result: As a result of the analysis, four types were extracted, and there were no affirmative statements commonly cited in all types, and the opposite statement is 'if someone wants to commit suicide, it is the person's job and should not interfere'. Types 4 named suicide as 'unacceptable social problem', 'signal of a request for help, relief of severe pain, and 'impulsive mistake', respectively. Conclusion: Based on this result, the elements constituting the perception of each type were analyzed, and the need for access strategies for each type of suicide prevention education and campaign, and follow-up research were suggested.
This study used the Q-method to derive the structure of subjective opinions and perceptions of university students about the behavior of food delivery agency service provided by staff not directly employed in restaurants. For this purpose, the Q factor analysis was performed using the PC QUANL program for the Q-sort, which consists of a statement card, a P-sample, and a classification process. The results were classified into three types. The factor names were set as the first type (N = 7): efficiency seeking type, the second type (N = 19): benefit seeking type, and the third type [(N = 6): cost-effectiveness seeking type. The characteristics of each type are Type 1:Types that recognize aspects that are efficient for both consumers and restaurants, Type 2: Types of recognizing aspects of being benefited from speed, convenience and benefit, Type 3: Although it contributes to labor cost savings, it appears to recognize price and quality aspects in the initial market, which is burdened by consumers. The purpose of this study is to derive the problems of food delivery agency service business according to the three types and to provide strategic implications for the development direction and improvement plan.
Zagier introduced the term "strange identity" to describe an asymptotic relation between a certain q-hypergeometric series and a partial theta function at roots of unity. We show that behind Zagier's strange identity lies a statement about Bailey pairs. Using the iterative machinery of Bailey pairs then leads to many families of multisum strange identities, including Hikami's generalization of Zagier's identity.
The effect of conducted using Q research method, which is one of qualitative analysis methods that can approach in-depth and essential meaning of Spanish restaurant's perception of dining out consumers. The statement positions on the sorting continuum were scored from +4(representing the highest level of agreement) through 0(at the neutral position on the continuum) through to -4(representing the highest level of disagreement). Factor analysis of the data was undertaken using PC QUANL program to determine if any patterns were discernible. The five types extracted all had eigenvalues greater than 1.0 and explained 62.38% of the variation in responses.: (1) New workload type, (2) Interest and responsibility type, (3) Improve the situation type, (4) Lack of knowledge and technology type, and (5) Excessive workload type.
