  • With the publication of TRS-483 in late 2017 the IAEA has established an international code of practice for reference dosimetry in small and non-standard fields based on a formalism first suggested by Alfonso et al. in 2008. However, data on beam quality correction factors ($k^{f_{msr},f_{ref}}_{Q_{msr},Q_0}$) for the Leksell Gamma $Knife^{(R)}$ $Perfexion^{TM}$ is scarce and what little data is available was obtained under conditions not necessarily in accordance with the IAEA's recommendations. This study constitutes the first systematic attempt to calculate those correction factors by applying the new code of practice to Monte Carlo simulation using the GEANT4 toolkit. $k^{f_{msr},f_{ref}}_{Q_{msr},Q_0}$ values were determined for three common ionization chamber detectors and five different phantom materials, with results indicating that in most phantom materials, all chambers were well suited for reference dosimetry with the Gamma $Knife^{(R)}$. Similarities and differences between the results of this study and previous ones were also analyzed and it was found that the results obtained herein were generally in good agreement with earlier PENELOPE and EGSnrc studies.

  • Let p, ${\ell}$ be distinct odd primes, q be an odd prime power with gcd(q, p) = gcd(q,${\ell}$) = 1, and m, n be positive integers. In this paper, we determine all self-dual, self-orthogonal and complementary-dual negacyclic codes of length $2p^{n{\ell}m}$ over the finite field ${\mathbb{F}}_q$ with q elements. We also illustrate our results with some examples.

  • This paper presents an approach to the construction of multiple-rate quasi-cyclic low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes. Parity-check matrices of the proposed codes consist of $q{\times}q$ square submatrices. The block rows and block columns of the parity-check matrix correspond to the hyperplanes (${\mu}$-fiats) and points in Euclidean geometries, respectively. By decomposing the ${\mu}$-fiats, we obtain LDPC codes of different code rates and a constant code length. The code performance is investigated in term of the bit error rate and compared with those of LDPC codes given in IEEE standards. Simulation results show that our codes perform very well and have low error floors over the additive white Gaussian noise channel.

  • The realization for code domain analyzing system on WCDMA is presented. This system is realized with the RF, FPGA and DSP processor. The FPGA firgures out the scambling code, and DSP produces the power of code domain using OVSF. The experiment results allow the code domain power accuracy to keep $\pm$1dB low. This system leads to split the text, sound and image signal.

  • A fundamental problem in coding theory is to find nq(k, d), the minimum length n for which an [n, k, d]q code exists. We show that some q-divisible optimal linear codes of dimension 4 over 𝔽q, which are not of Belov type, can be constructed geometrically using hyperbolic quadrics in PG(3, q). We also construct some new linear codes over 𝔽q with q = 7, 8, which determine n7(4, d) for 31 values of d and n8(4, d) for 40 values of d.

  • Key aspects of the Norwegian Method of Tunnelling (NMT) are reviewed. These include a predictive method of support design using the six-parameter Q-system of rock mass characterisation. The rock mass rating or Q-value is updated during tunnel driving. The designed tunnel support generally consists of wet process, steel fibre reinforced shotcrete combined with fully grouted, untensioned rock bolts, Even in poor rock conditions S(fr) + B usually acts as the final rock reinforcement and tunnel lining. Since it is a drained lining, it is very economic compared to cast concrete with membranes. Light, free-standing steel liners are used to prevent water affecting the runnel environment. Rock mass conditions, and hence lining design and cost estimation can be assessed by careful use of seismic surveys. Relationships between the P-wave velocity, the rock mass deformation modulus and the Q-value have recently been established, where tunnel depth, rock porosity and the uniaxial compression strength of the rock are important variables. The rock mass modulus estimate, and simple index testing of the joints, provide the key input which joints are discretely represented (either in two dimensions with the UDEC code or in three dimensions with the 3DEC code) is generally favoured compared to continuum analysis. The latter may give a misleading impression of uniformity and deformations tend to be understimated. Q-system NMT designs of S(fr) + B (fibre reinforced shotcrete and bolting) are numerically checked and adjustments made to bolt capacities and shotcrete thickness if overloading is evident around the modelled profile.

  • This study deals with the analysis of a technology convergence of the IoT(Internet of Things) which is the key technology of the fourth industrial revolution. For this purpose, 77 patents with the Main Category CPC code G06Q50/10(Electronic Commerce Service) among the IoT patents filed after 2014 were analyzed. As a result of the Main-Sub Category analysis of CPC codes, the IoT has a strong relationship between "Electronic Commerce Service (G06Q50/10)" and G06Q(49 cases), H04L(40 cases), G08B(24 cases), G05B(21 cases), H04W(21 cases), H04N(16 cases), and so on. By using the methodology in this study, we can contribute the establishment of technology strategy and new value creation from the prediction of the possibility of the combination of technologies and to develop new patents among various new technologies.

  • There are several methods for constructing self-dual codes. Among them, the building-up construction is a powerful method. Recently, Kim and Choi proposed special building-up constructions which use symmetric generator matrices for self-dual codes over GF(q), where q is odd. In this paper, we study the same method when q is even.

  • This study deals with the technology Convergence Analysis by IPC Code-Based Social Network Analysis of Healthcare Patents filed in Korea. The relationship between core technologies is visualized using Social Network Analysis. At the subclass level of healthcare patents, 1,155 cases (49.4%) of patents with complex IPC codes were investigated, and as a result of Social Network Analysis on them, the IPC codes with the highest Degree Centrality were A61B, G16H, and G06Q, in that order. The IPC codes with the highest Betweenness Centrality are in the order of A61B, G16H, and G06Q. In addition, it was confirmed that healthcare patents consist of two large technology clusters. Cluster-1 corresponds to related business models centered on A61B, G16H and G06Q, and Cluster-2 is consisting of H04L, H04W and H04B. The technology convergence core pairs of the healthcare patent is [G16H-A61B] and [G16H-G06Q] in Cluster-1, and [H04L-H04W] in Cluster-2. The results of this study can contribute to the development of core technologies for healthcare patents.
