  • The purpose of this case report is to investigate whether an attempt to hold the repeated upright posture under blocking the patient's vision affects the deficits to push away from the paralytic side and the relapse time from down to stand up position without push away in patients with hemiplegia with pusher syndrome. Two hemiplegic patients with pusher syndrome were assessed. The task was performed 4 times per day for 6 weeks. The modified barthel index (MBI) was performed to assess activities of daily living (ADL). For assessing balance, the "balanced sitting" and "sit to stand" are analyzed using by modified motor assessment scale (MMAS). The scale for contraversive pushing (SCP) was used for determination of push away from paralyzed side. MBI, MMAS and SCP were assessed before and after trial of the task. In patient 1, total score of the scale is 0 in sitting posture and standing posture within 3 weeks and 4 weeks, respectively, In patient 2, total score of the scale is 0 in sitting posture and standing posture within 4 weeks and 6 weeks, respectively. These results demonstrated that pusher syndrome was completely resolved in at least 6 weeks. Our findings indicate that this physical therapy seems to be relevant for the hemiplegic patients with pusher syndrome.

  • Double parking is very common in a parking lot where there is not sufficient parking space. When we double-park a car, we leave transmission gear in neutral position and release the emergency brake so that the double-parked car can be moved just by pushing it. However, moving a double-parked car by pushing is very hard and dangerous especially for the old and the weak. So, we propose an omni-directional mobile robot for moving a double-parked car easily and safely. The developed omni-directional mobile robot moves a double-parked car by rotating a wheel of a double-parked car. It has two specially designed rollers to rotate a wheel of a double-parked car and is designed so that the height of the robot is very low to be able to enter beneath a double-parked car. It can move a double-parked car safely by detecting obstacles in the way with five ultrasonic sensors. We verified by several experiments that the developed omni-directional mobile robot can be used to move a double-parked car easily and safely.

  • Rice seedling test was conducted to check the loging tolerance at ripening stage through evaluating the root characters. Thirteen Korean and foreign rice cultivars with direct seeding adaptable or high quality characteristics were grown in a cell pot and under submerged paddy. The root characters and pushing resistance of rice hill were determined at seedling and ripening stage, respectively. The diameter of crown root at the 7th and 8th leaf stages was thicker in lodging tolerance cultivars than those of others and showed significant-positive correlation with both pushing resistance and crown root diameter of mature plants. Also, the tensile strength of crown root at the 7th and 8th leaf stage showed highly positive correlation with the tensile strength of crown root of mature plants. The number of crown root at 7th leaf stage was significant-positively correlated with that of mature plant. The diameter of seminal root was not significantly correlated with the diameter of crown root throughout the whole growth stage. These results indicate that the diameter, tensile strength and number of crown root associated with root lodging tolerance can be detected with the seedling at about 7th or 8th leaf stage, and the seedling test using the cell pot is an useful and practical method to select lodging tolerant cultivars or lines of rice based on root characters, especially diameter of crown root.

  • In this paper, we present the effect the length the MSL(Microstrip Line) on the oscillation characteristic of the fabricated VCOs(Voltage Controlled Oscillator) designed and analyzed by RF circuit simulator Serenade(ANSOFT Co.) and fabricated by screen printing method on the alumina substrate. We have fabricated VCOs with 3 different MSL length and each MSL length of the VCO is 140mi1, 280mil and 560mi1. The oscillation frequency of each sample(VCO) was tuned to UHF band(750MHz∼900MHz) varying the capacitance. The experimental result shows the phase noise -82∼-97[dBc/Hz] at a 50 [kHz] offset frequency, the pushing figure 94∼318[kHz] at 3${\pm}$0.15[V] and the harmonics 13∼21 [dBc] between MSL length 140mi1s and 560mi1. The frequency and output variation width are 779∼898[MHz], -36∼-33[dBm] at MSL length 140mi1; 818∼836[MHz], -27.19∼-27.06[dBm] at 280mi1;751.54∼751.198[MHz],-33.44∼ -33.31[dBm] at 560mi1. we examined 3 VCOs oscillation characteristic difference through comparison with phase noise, oscillation power and frequency by control voltage change, harmonics and pushing figure for each sample.

  • We have extracted a surface deformation map of a part of Canisteo Peninsula on Amundsen Sea in West Antarctica by applying 4-pass DInSAR technique to two ERS-1/2 tandem pairs obtained on October 21-22, 1995 (diff-pair) and March 9-10, 1996 (topo-pair), and analyzed changes of glaciers, sea ice, ice shelves, and their kinematic interactions. We observed fast motion of glaciers pushing the adjoining sea ice. Some interferometric phases indicate the up-rise of sea ice of which type is thought to be land-fast ice to exert repulsive force against the pushing glacier. There were other glaciers and sea ice that moved to the same direction, suggesting that the sea ice in these regions was land-fast ice weakly harnessed to sea bottom or pack ice not harnessed at all. Several small circular fringes in ice shelves suggested that islands or seamounts on the bottom of ice shelves deterred the movement of ice shelves, resulting in the rise of ice surface.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the expression of harmful social behaviours in breeding pigs. Totally 64 pure breed pigs were assigned to determine the effect of breed (Yorkshire and Duroc) and sex (male and female) on the expression of each harmful social behaviours at the GGP level commercial breeding farm. Sucking, bothering, fighting and pushing behaviour were selected the notable harmful social behaviour. The most prevailing and the highest proportion of time spent in harmful social behaviours were bothering and sucking, respectively. Total frequency of bothering and fighting were more in Duroc than Yorkshire. Yorkshire had more proportion of time spent in sucking whereas fighting was more in Duroc. According to sex, female pigs had more frequency of sucking and pushing whereas fighting was significantly more in male pigs. The female pigs showed more time spent in sucking whereas bothering and fighting was more in male pigs.

  • This study intends to develop a pulse discharge device to strengthen the pushing power by expanding the cavity of the anchor settlement to form a spheric root for the purpose of constructing the economical and stable anchor. and, a series of field test were carried out in order to check applicability of machines of pulse powered underreamed anchors. Through the experiments, the electrical characteristics of the pulse power equipment had been identified it and the dynamic pressure generated from the subsequent change had been measured. Here, the measured dynamic pressure is the cavity expansion pressure to impact on the ground around the anchor settlement. Since this pressure has effects of cavity expansion and bored surface hardening with dynamic hardening effects on the anchor settlement, it is expected that it will largely contribute the increase of pushing power with a strong frictional resistance.

  • Major countries are trying to expand the construction of smart factories by introducing ICT such as the Internet of Things, cloud, and big data into the manufacturing sector to secure national-level manufacturing competitiveness in the era of the 4th industrial revolution. In addition, Germany is pushing for Industry 4.0 to build a fully automatic production system through the Internet of Things, and China is pushing for the expansion of smart factories to enhance the country's industrial competitiveness through Made in China 2025, Japan's intelligent manufacturing system, and the Korean government's manufacturing innovation 3.0. In this study, considering the increasing security connectivity of smart factories, we would like to identify security threats in the external connection part of smart factories and suggest security enhancement measures based on domestic and international standard security models to respond to the identified security threats. Eventually the proposed method can be applied by accurately identifying the smart factory security status, diagnosing vulnerabilities, establishing appropriate improvement plans, and expanding security strategies to respond to security threats.
