  • Purpose This study aims to investigate the factors that influence switching intention of Smart Appliances. We focuses on Push-Pull-Mooring theory and status quo bias as factors related to switching behavior. Design/methodology/approach This study developed an model to explain the switching intention of Smart Appliances and conducted structural equation modeling with AMOS22.0. To test the proposed hypotheses, we collected 319 survey responses from smart appliances's users. Findings The results indicated that low usefulness and low ease of use had an effect on the switching intention of smart appliances. The results also indicated that attractiveness of the alternative and social norms had an effect on the switching intention of smart appliances. Lastly, The difference between the relation of push effect and switching intention and the relation of pull effect and switching intention was found to be due to the level of status quo bias. The academic and managerial implications were discussed based on the results of empirical analysis.

  • It is very important to improve the overall efficiency of systems with a source of power that has low-voltage high-current terminal characteristics such as fuel cells. A resonant converter is required for high efficiency systems. However, the peak value of the switches current is large in a resonant converter. This peak current requires a large number of switches and results in system failures. In this paper, an analysis and experiments of a resonant isolation push-pull converter are performed. A switching loss analysis is performed in order to compare losses between a resonant push pull converter and a hard switching push-pull converter. Specially, the conduction loss is studied based on the ratio between the resonant frequency and the switching frequency. In addition, a method for improving the efficiency is implemented with conventional HF insolation converters.

  • This paper proposes a novel zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) Push-pull DC-DC Converter for high input voltage and high power applications. This topology utilizes two switches in series to replace one switch in conventional push-pull converter, and two clamping diodes are introduced. The voltage stress of the switches is the input voltage, and the switches can realize ZVS with the use of the leakage inductance of the transformer. Furthermore, secondary full-wave rectifier with a clamping capacitor is used to eliminate the voltage oscillation and spike of the rectifier diodes due to the reverse recovery. Therefore, the electromagnetic interference is reduced effectively. The operation principle of the proposed converter is analyzed theoretically. The output characteristic, ZVS condition and design principle of the clamping capacitor are discussed. Experimental results obtained from a 270V input 2kW prototype with $95.8\%$ high efficiency confirms the design.

  • A moving-coil-type linear motor, designed and fabricated, is consisted of the NdFeB permanent magnets with high specific energy as the stator, a coil-wrapped nonmagnetic hollow rectangular structure and an iron core as a pathway for magnetic flux. The interaction between permanent magmet and armature fie1d, so called "push/pull effect", is to shift the airgap flux density variation due to the magnet alone by a certain amount. Thrust therefore is shift downward or upward. The push/pull effect was presented through the FEM analysis and the static tests. We compared the thrust obtained through the FEM analysis with the static tests. Finally, we present the linearity and correction coefficients of the thrust in consideration of the push/pull effects.l effects.

  • This paper proposes a Current-Fed Push Pull type DC-DC converter using LCCC Resonant circuit and Zero Voltage Switching function to reduce turn on and off loss at the switching instants. This paper have the advantage which is able to operating safely in load short, because of DC reactor is connected with resonance reactor in order to supply a fixed current with low ripple from DC Power supply. The capacitor ($C_1$, $C_2$) connected in switch are common using as resonance capacitor and ZVS capacitor. The analysis of the proposed Current-Fed Push Pull type DC-DC converter is generally described by using normalized parameter, and we have evaluated characteristic values which is needed to design a circuit. We confirm a rightfulness theoretical analysis by comparing a theoretical values and experimental values obtained from experiment using MOSFET as switching devices.

  • Quantifying rates of microbial processes under subsurface conditions is difficult, and is most commonly approximated by laboratory studies using aquifer materials. In this study a single-well, 'push-pull' test method is adapted for the in situ determination of denitrification rates in groundwater aquifers. The rates of stepwise reduction of nitrate to nitrite, nitrous oxide, and molecular nitrogen were determined by performing a series of push-pull tests at an experimental well field of Korea University. A single Transport Test, one Biostimulation Test, and four Activity Tests were conducted for this study. Transport tests are conducted to evaluate the mobility of solutes used in subsequent tests. These included bromide (a conservative tracer), fumarate (a carbon and/or source), and nitrate (an electron acceptor). At this site, extraction phase breakthrough curves for all solutes were similar, indicating apparent conservative transport of the solutes prior to biostimulation. Biostimulation tests were conducted to stimulate the activity of indigenous heterotrophic denitrifyinc microorganisms. Biostimulation was detected by the simultaneous production of carbon dioxide and nitrite after each injection. Activity tests were conducted to quantify rates of nitrate, nitrite, and nitrous oxide reduction. Estimated zero-order degradation rates decreased in the order nitrate '||'&'||'gt; nitrite '||'&'||'gt; nitrous oxide. The series of push-pull tests developed and field tested in this study should prove useful for conducting rapid, low-cost feasibi1ity assessments for in situ denitrification in nitrate-contaminated aquifers.

  • As longevity of human-beings is extended and the population of aged people increases, diverse issues related with the aged people are presented. The neighborhood space for the aged people is required to be designed based upon the understanding of such difficulties of the elderly and the public outdoor environment is an important environmental resource that can enhance the quality of life and promote the health of the elderly in underprivileged area without burdening them economically. This study aims to research the daily life of the elderly in underprivileged urban area and their utilization styles of outdoor environments in order to find out the push factors and pull factors that induce the aged people to use the outdoor environments. For this purpose, this study carried out an interview survey upon 69 elderly residents and surveyed on 363 elderly residents of low income class who are aged 60 and over and living in decaying area in Jeonju. For the analysis of the collected data, a qualitative and a quantitative analysis were accomplished. As results of study, the elderly in underprivileged area use such outdoor environments as resting facilities, exercise equipment, parks, farming gardens and waterfronts, and the push factors for them to use the outdoor environments were sordid indoor spaces, sense of isolation or loneliness, and the desire for maintaining good health. And the pull factors for them to use the outdoor environments were natural factors, opportunities for social interactions, space for exercise. The obstacles that hinder the elderly in using outdoor environments were the bad health of the elderly, lack of facilities, accessibility and weather conditions. Thus, the results of this study are expected to provide basic data for designing the outdoor environments to promote the health of the elderly in urban underprivileged area and to relieve the burdensome problems related with ageing societies.

  • The push pull forward converter is suitable in a low output voltage, a high output current applications with wide input voltage ranges. All magnetic components including output inductor, transformer and input filter can be integrated into single EI/EE core. The integrated push pull forward converter is considered through the comparison of efficiency according to the circuit parameters. The Nicera company's 5M FEE18/8/10C and NC-2H FEI32/8/20 cores are used for the transformer. The integrated push pull forward converter ratings are of $36\~72V$ input and 3.3V/30A output. In case that NC-2H FEI32/8/20 core used in the converter, the efficiency is measured up to $83.5\%$ at the switching frequency 200 kHz and the 11A load. The efficiencies of $76.4\%$ at a full load and $82.95\%$ at a half load are measured.
