We experimentally demonstrated a novel wavelength-swept laser using a cascaded Raman gain around 1310 nm. A 1064/1310 wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) coupler and coupled fiber Bragg gratings mirrors at 1064, 1117, 1175, 1240 nm are effectively used to increase the power efficiency in a laser ring cavity with highly non-linear fiber (HNLF) of 2 km. Linear wavelength sweeping is demonstrated with the 100 Hz triangular driving signal to fiber Fabry-Perot tunable filter (FFP-TF) around the 1310 nm region. The measured sweeping range and output power were 27 nm and 2.1 mW, respectively, which are suitable for optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging.

The reporter plasmid pMT-lacZ containing the metallothionein (MT) promoter region (-320∼+58 with respect to the transcription initiation site) fused to the lacZ gene in a P-element vector was constructed. Transgenic Drosophila bearing the MT-lacZ fusion gene were established by P-element mediated transformation. Expression of the MT-lacZ fusion gene in transformants was examined during development. By treatment with low concentration of cadmium (>1O uM) or paraquat (>50 uM), increased expression of B-galactosidase was shown in fat body, brain lobe, and ganglion transgenic larval tissues. The results show that transformants bearing the MT-lacZ fusion gene are useful for further studies on the mechanism of regulation of MT gene expression and for monitoring toxic metals.

모바일 기술의 빠른 발전은 기존의 유선에서 제공받고 있는 인터넷 서비스를 모바일 환경에서도 서비스를 받을 수 있게 하였다. 그러나 모바일 환경에서의 인터넷 제공은 아직 많은 문제점들을 내포하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 모바일 인터넷 환경이 가지는 문제점들 중에서 hand-off 에 의한 지연 시간을 감소시키기 위해서 중첩 영역에서 모바일 호스트들의 이동 방향을 예측하는 구조를 설계하였다. 그리고 각각의 외부 네트웍들의 모바일 호스트들의 요구 대역폭 수용 능력을 향상시키고 각 외부 네트웍들간의 대역폭 사용율을 균등하게 조정하기 위해서 대역폭 협상 기법을 제안한다. 모의실험 결과 각각의 외부 네트웍들은 더 많은 모바일 호스트들의 요구를 수용하게 되었고, 대역폭 이용율도 균등하게 조정되었다.

An accurate analysis of pipeline transient is important for proper management and operation of a water distribution systems. The computational accuracy and its cost are two distinct components for unsteady flow analysis model, which can be strength and weakness of three-dimensional model and one-dimensional model, respectively. In this study, we used two-dimensional unsteady flow model with Five-Region Turbulence model (FRTM) with the implementation of interaction between liquid and air Since FRTM has an empirical component to be determined, we explored the response feature of two-dimensional flow model. The relationship between friction behaviour and the variation of undetermined parameter was configured through the comparison between numerical simulations and experimental results.

Well-resolved vibronic emission spectra were recorded in the visible region from the corona discharge of precursor alkylbenzenes in a technique of corona excited supersonic expansion using a pinhole-type glass nozzle. From the observed spectra, we found the evidence of the presence of benzyl-type radicals generated by dissociation of C-C or C-H bonds of alkyl group. After identification of benzyl-type radicals formed in the corona discharge, we suggest that energy densities in alkyl chain play a crucial role in determining the bond dissociation during corona excitation.

The stress field in a body caused by the tangential loading of a rectangular patch on a semi-infinite solid has been solved analytically using a potential function. The validity of the results of this study was preyed by Saint-Venant's principle in the remote region and by the superposition of point loads in the vicinity of the surface.

This paper presents a new demosaicking method based on weighted sum in the wavelet domain. In our method, the missing wavelet coefficients in lowest frequency subband are obtained by weighted sum. Since detail coefficients have large values at the edge region, these values are used as weighting factors. Detail coefficients are replaced by the coefficients in the corresponding subbands. Experimental results show that the proposed method generates good performance.

Good estimation of the slopes of the mixture response function may be important as well as estimation of mean mixture response. It is possible to evaluate and compare several mixture designs with respect to the slope. A graphical method is proposed that allows us to evaluate a given design's support for the fitted model in terms of slope variance. We can plot variances of slopes along Cox direction according to existence of restriction of simplex region when comparing several different mixture designs.

This Paper deals with the development of Incheon International Airports and Pusan and Kwangyang Ports as Hub Ports in order to systemize nationwide logistics networks. Now, Korea has core competences in terms of social overhead capital, telecommunication, information technologies, all fields of manufacturing plants, and the other infra-structure. As the environments of North-East Asian countries changes dynamically, at least we should keep up with the situations which require to meet the globalized level of international logistics services in Pusan and Kwangyang Ports to be a competitive Hub Ports in this region.
