  • The purpose of this study was to develop a computer-animated pure tone audiometry for screening (CAPTAS) for toddler and to determine its validity and reliability. The CAPTAS utilizes an animated cartoon story producing visual and auditory stimuli. The intensities were 40 dB, 60 dB, 80 dB. The frequencies were 500 Hz, 1000 Hz, 2000 Hz, and 4000 Hz. The subjects were 20 (9 males and 11 females) severely hearing impaired children. As a result, The correlation coefficient between mean hearing threshold of children who were able to perform PTA and average hearing threshold of CAPTAS was performed and it revealed CAPTAS's high validity. And to verify the reliability of the re-test, all children had the CAPTAS and repeated it periodically. The result confirmed the reliability.

  • In this paper, we investigate the problem of describing the form of Jordan generalized derivations on trivial extension algebras. One of the main results shows, under some conditions, that every Jordan generalized derivation on a trivial extension algebra is the sum of a generalized derivation and an antiderivation. This result extends the study of Jordan generalized derivations on triangular algebras (see [12]), and also it can be considered as a "generalized" counterpart of the results given on Jordan derivations of a trivial extension algebra (see [11]).

  • Suppose G is a molecular graph with edge set E(G). The hyper-Zagreb index of G is defined as $HM(G)={\sum}_{uv{\in}E(G)}[deg_G(u)+deg_G(v)]^2$, where $deg_G(u)$ is the degree of a vertex u in G. In this paper, all chemical trees of order $n{\geq}12$ with the first twenty smallest hyper-Zagreb index are characterized.

  • Path following algorithms have been intensively studied for various mobile platforms such as planetary exploration, unmanned delivery, and autonomous driving. However, ensuring high accuracy in practical applications is challenging due to enormous uncertainty inherent in real environment. In this paper, we aim to reveal the guideline for the design and implementation by investigating the path following performance of mobile robot controlled by the pure pursuit algorithm. To this end, we evaluate the accuracy of the pure pursuit algorithm when tuning the look ahead distance and deploying erroneous actuator.

  • This paper studies various roughness parameters, besides waviness, texture, and nonlinear parameters of Bismarck brown Y (BBY)-doped Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) films based on the computed values of optical limiting (OL) threshold power and nonlinear refractive index. The films' morphology, grain size, and absorption spectra were investigated using atomic force microscopy in conjunction with ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectrophotometer. The particle size of the films ranged between 4.11-4.51 mm and polymer films showed good homogeneity and medium roughness, ranging from 1.11-4.58 mm. A polymer film's third-order nonlinear optical features were carried out using the Z-scan methodology. The measurements were obtained by a continuous wave produced from a solid-state laser with a 532 nm wavelength. According to the results, BBY has a nonlinear refractive index of 10-6 cm2/W that is significantly negative and nonlinear. The optical limiting thresholds are roughly 10.29, 13.52, and 18.71 mW, respectively. The shift of nonlinear optical features with the film's concentration was found throughout the experiment Additionally, we found that the polymer samples have outstanding capabilities for restricting the amount of optical power that may be transmitted through them. We propose that these films have the potential to be used in a wide variety of optoelectronic applications, including optical photodetectors and optical switching.

  • With the advent of high speed and high output diesel engines, cavitation erosion-corrosion of wet cylinder liners is one of the most prevalent types of failure. The cavitation erosion-corrosion at cylinder liners in water cooled diesel engines is considered to be to the collapse of cavitation bubbles attributed to the cylinder liner vibration. To suppress cavitation damage in cylinder liner, the addition of an inhibitor would be more general method and innovations such as the improvement in the geometric design of the equipment or the selection of suitably resistant construction materials are necessary. In this study, photomicrographs from vibratory facility cavitation specimens and from an eroded liner of a field diesel engine are compared. The behavior of cavitation bubbles grown in fluid is observed under vibration conditions by taking direct photographs with high speed camera. In order to determine the contributions of pure cavitation erosion and of pure corrosion to the total cavitation damage are be studied by following an experimental programme which includes three types of test: (1)pure cavitation erosion test, (2)pure corrosion test, and (1)cavitation erosion-corrosion test. Also cavitation damage under vibratory cavitation is reduced by using flow in tap water.

  • According to Jacobson [31], a right ideal is bounded if it contains a non-zero ideal, and Faith [15] called a ring strongly right bounded if every non-zero right ideal is bounded. From [30], a ring is strongly right AB if every non-zero right annihilator is bounded. In this paper, we introduce and investigate a particular class of McCoy rings which satisfy Property (A) and the conditions asked by Nielsen [42]. It is shown that for a u.p.-monoid M and ${\sigma}:M{\rightarrow}End(R)$ a compatible monoid homomorphism, if R is reversible, then the skew monoid ring R * M is strongly right AB. If R is a strongly right AB ring, M is a u.p.-monoid and ${\sigma}:M{\rightarrow}End(R)$ is a weakly rigid monoid homomorphism, then the skew monoid ring R * M has right Property (A).

  • One of the best means to safeguard the confidentiality, security, and privacy of an image within the IoT-Cloud is through encryption. However, looking through encrypted data is a difficult process. Several techniques for searching encrypted data have been devised, but certain security solutions may not be used in IoT-Cloud because such solutions are not lightweight. We propose a lightweight scheme that can perform a content-based search of encrypted images, namely EEIRI. In this scheme, the images are represented using local features. We develop and validate a secure scheme for measuring the Euclidean distance between two descriptor sets. To improve the search efficiency, we employ the k-means clustering technique to construct a searchable tree-based index. Our index construction process ensures the privacy of the stored data and search requests. When compared with more familiar techniques of searching images over plaintexts, EEIRI is considered to be more efficient, demonstrating a higher search cost of 7% and a decrease in search accuracy of 1.7%. Numerous empirical investigations are carried out in relation to real image collections so as to evidence our work.

  • This study was conducted to investigate hypoacusis due to workplace noise among dental technicians. Pure tone audiometry, impedance audiometry and heart rate variability were measured for 60 dental technicians and office workers in D city from July to November 2013, and a survey on the effects of noise was conducted. SPSS 19.0 was used for statistical analysis. In the result for threshold of pure tone audiometry, the average hearing threshold of left ears in the air conduction (AC) test showed a statistically significant decrease (P=0.019) among dental technicians, who are frequently exposed to workplace noise. The hearing threshold in the AC test for each frequency was significantly different between the two groups at 125 Hz (P=0.012) in right ears and at 1 kHz (P=0.022), 2 kHz (P=0.040), and 8 kHz (P=0.018) in left ears. Dental technicians who had worked for 16 years or longer had a significantly higher incidence of hypoacusis in the right ear (P=0.030) and in the left ear (P=0.010). In impedance audiometry showed a tympanometry result of type A in both the dental technician group and the office worker group.
