  • This paper describes techniques used to analyze the sweet spot of sound field reproduced by ear-level linear arrays of loudspeakers by geometrical approach method. Previous researches have introduced various sweet spot definitions in their own way. In general, sweet spot is defined as an area whose stereophonic sound effect is valid. Its size is affected by the geometrical arrangement of the system. In this paper, a case when plane waves are generated by linear arrays of loudspeakers in the horizontal plane is considered. So the sweet spot is defined as an area in which the listener can perceive the desired azimuth angle. Because there are many loudspeakers, impulse responses at listener's ears are in the form of pulse-train and the time-duration of the pulse-train affects the localization performance of the listener. So we calculated the maximum time duration of pulse-train by geometrical approach method and identified with the results of impulse response simulation. This paper also includes parameter analysis with respect to aperture size, so it suggests a tool for sound engineers to expect the sweet spot size and listener's sound perception.

  • We demonstrate a simple method to generate a stable 40 GHz pulse train at 1550 nm by spectral filtering of a 10 GHz mode.locked pulse source using a fiber Fabry-Perot interferometer (FFPI). A high finesse FFPI with a 40 GHz free spectral range blocks successfully unwanted spectral components of a 10 GHz pulse source and passes only 40 GHz spaced spectral lines ensuring pulse repetition-frequency quadruplication of the input pulses.

  • A regenerative Er-doped fiber amplifier system for a high-repetition-rate optical pulse train is investigated for the first time. A signal pulse train with a wavelength tuning range of 18 nm is produced by a passive mode-locked fiber laser based on a nonlinear polarization rotation technique. In order to realize the amplification, an optical delay-line is used to achieve time match between the pulses' interval and the period of pulse running through the regenerative amplifier. The 16 dB gain is obtained for an input pulse train with a launching power of -30.4 dBm, a center wavelength of 1563.4 nm and a repetition rate of 15.3 MHz. The output properties of signal pulses with different center wavelengths are also discussed. The pulse amplification is found to be different from the regenerative amplification system for CW signals.

  • The multi-function radar can detect and track the low RCS targets. For this purpose the multi-function radar uses the pulse train waveform. because this waveform has high dynamic range and good SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio). But the spurious signals can also be detected by processing the pulse train waveform. Thus the multi-function radar signal processor must have the high SFDR(Spurious Free Dynamic Range). This paper describes the development of the multi-function radar signal processor having the high SFDR.

  • We studied the effect of gain recovery at the optical fiber amplifier by the input pulse trains We also theoretically analyzed the limitation of the saturation and recovery time for the PDFA(Praseodymium-Doped Fiber Amplifier) which has the spectral gain at 1.3${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ band. We can predict the interval between the pulse train, pump power, and the effect of the saturation and recovery time which is affected to the amplification of the optical pulse.

  • A Stepped Frequency Radar(SFR) is a method of achieving high range resolution by gradually increasing the frequency of a transmitted pulse to create a wide synthetic bandwidth. However, in the case of moving target, accurate range estimation can not be performed due to the range-Doppler coupling phenomenon, so it is necessary to compensate through accurate velocity estimation. In this paper, we propose a stepped frequency radar waveform with a Coherent Pulse Train(CPT), velocity estimation results according to parameters using this method and VMD(Velocity Measurement Data) were compared and analyzed by numerical simulations.

It showed the sigmoidal relationship between the frequency of the pulse-train and the applied input DC voltage. In conjunction with MQWIMD the various neural circuits are proposed especially a neural chip monolithically integrated with photodetectors in order to perfrom the pattern recognition.

  • We study complicated nonlinear interactions of two orthogonally polarized pulses with pulse-width of less than 100fsec in the all-optical phase-shift switches, which use soliton pulse-train and fiber-splicing for control pulse to obtain multi-collisional $\pi$-phase-shift and consider Raman response function. We investigate switching performance in various input parameters such as input pulse-width and birefringence of fiber, and find optimum initial conditions for good switching performance in such all-optical switches.
