Control of Parallel Connected Three-Phase PWM Converters without Inter-Module Reactors

  • This paper presents a new current sharing control strategy for parallel-connected, synchronised three-phase DC-AC converters employing space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) without current sharing reactors. Unlike conventional control methods, the proposed method breaks the paths of the circulating current by dividing the switching cycle evenly between parallel connected equally rated converters. Accordingly, any inter-module reactors or circulating current control will be redundant, leading to reductions in system costs, size, and control algorithm complexity. Each converter in the new scheme employs a synchronous dq current regulator that uses only local information to attain a desired converter current. A stability analysis of the current controller is included together with a simulation of the converter and load current waveforms. Experimental results from a 2.5kVA test rig are included to verify the proposed control method.

  • 포항가속기연구소 선형${\mu}$가속기의 대전력 RF부품의 시험과 RF증폭을 위해 사용되는 클라이스트론 튜브의 시험용 전원으로 펄스전원인 모듈레이터를 사용하고 있다. 고전적인 방식의 교류전압을 변환하여 직류로 만들고 이 전원을 L-C공진충전에 의해 펄스를 생성하는 펄스 커패시터에 약 2배의 직류전원으로 충전하는 기법을 사용하고 있다. 이들 전원은 저주파의 대용량 변압기를 사용하여 직류로 변환하는 부품들의 부피가 크다. 새로운 충전기법을 적용한 펄스전원의 경우는 고주파 인버터 전원을 채택하여 그 부피를 줄이고 지령충전에 의해 펄스를 생성하는 싸이라트론의 애노드에 고전압이 머무는 시간을 줄임으로서 자발방전이나 고전압 아크에 의한 오동작을 최소로 할 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 고주파 전원 방식을 채용한 펄스 모듈레이터의 제어방법의 개선과 부피를 줄여 운전의 효율성을 높인 내용으로 발표하고자 한다.

  • On-line monitoring of fault discharge is an important approach for indicating the condition of electrical insulation of stator winding in high voltage motor. In this paper, several key aspects of on-line monitoring system are discussed, involving the characteristics of fault discharge of stator winding in high voltage motor, spectrum analysis of four simulation fault signals, feature extraction of internal fault discharge from apply voltage to breakdown. The study of the partial discharge activities allows to highlight the ageing stage in the winding fault under test. During the life of the winding insulation fault, the shape of PD signal change relating to the ageing stage. The ageing of stator winding insulation fault of high voltage motor is investigated based on the characteristics of partial discharge pulse distribution and statistical parameters, such as maximum, skewness and kurtosis using discrete wavelet transform coefficients.

  • High efficiency operation is required for motors of vehicle to increase fuel efficiency due to the regulation of exhaust gas. This paper presents a control method of fuel pressure to increase fuel efficiency and a sensorless control method of BLDC motor to get higher efficiency than conventional brushed DC motor. Initial rotor position of BLDC motor is detected from current value that is occurred by test voltage pulse and rotor is accelerated by defined sequence to enter sensorless operation mode. The algorithm to control flow rate of fuel pump uses PI controller that is control motor speed to maintain the target fuel pressure commanded by ECU.

An Experimental Study on Freezing and Thawing Resistance of Rice Straw Ash Concrete (볏짚재 콘크리트의 동결융해 저항성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • The purpose of this experiment is to estimate freezing and thawing resistance of rice straw ash concrete. Test results show that mass, pulse velocity and relative synamic modulus of elasticity are gradually decreased with increase of freezing and thawing cycle. The durability factor(DF) is in the range of 85.48 ∼86.33 in the rice straw ash comcrete with 2.5% , 5% 7.5%, rice straw ash and higher than that of thenormal cement concrete. But, DF of 10% , 12.5%, 15% rice straw ash filled rice straw ash concrete is in the range of 41.26∼65.34 and lower than that of the normal cement concrete.

  • Common rail injection system is flexible in injection timing, injection duration and pressure in engine. Many researches have reported on the merits in the application of common rail systems. This research investigated on characteristics and performance for single cylinder diesel engine with a common .ail injection system by varying major parameters such as injection timing, injection duration and common rail pressure. The injection timing and injection duration were controlled by electronic pulse generated. and common rail pressure were controlled by PCV driver. The 498cc single cylinder diesel engine was used in this experiment. All data for combustion pressure, injection timing and injection duration were recorded by Labview. Furthermore, this test was focused on how to optimize injection conditions.

  • Unstable sustain discharges can occur at the bottom cells of the panel at high temperature. To solve this phenomenon, the wall charge variation during an address period was investigated. A test panel of 7.5 inch XGA level was used and one green cell was measured. In order to realize operating condition equal to that of the bottom cells of 50 inch panel, the addressing stress pulses are applied. It seems that the resultant wall charge loss during address period increased with increase of temperature as well as the addressing stress pulse voltage. Therefore it results in unstable discharge during sustain period.

  • In this paper, we have developed the test equipment to measure performance of oscillator using Double Side Edge Trigger(DSET). This DSET increases counting number of micro pulse by frequency counter, which will successfully reduce the half measuring time to comparison with the existing counter by using DSET. This new concept of performance measuring equipment provides a high productivity and performance improvement.

  • 포항가속기 연구소에서 4세대 전자를 가속시키기 위하여 RF 공급원으로 사용하는 펄스 모듈레이터의 고전압 안정도는 50ppm 이하의 고전압이 요구된다. 200 MW 모듈레이터에 공급하기 위하여 개발된 고전압 CCPS사양은 50 kV, 120 kJ/sec, 2400mA, 20ppm이하이다. XFEL용 모듈레이터는 고정밀 고전압 CCPS를 적용하여 운전하였으며 모듈레이터 사양은 400kV, 500A, 8us, 60Hz, beam voltage stability 0.005(%)이다. 본 논문에서는 개발한 고정밀 고전압 CCPS를 사용하여 시험한 모듈레이터의 시험 결과에 대하여 발표하고자 한다.
