  • Now, our urban space is composed of all kinds of sculptures that lost its individual charm in trend flows and street furniture standardized by the integrated design of standardized franchises and similar architectures per each region and autonomous districts. This study was to introduce the concept called the 'community furniture' in the urban environment that there is no an identity of the regional culture and a sense of place because of the mostly similar street environment. The purpose of this study is to propose the concept called the 'community furniture' referred to as public facilities that imply specific identities of some regions that have became the community art expanded into necessary facilities of urban composition as bus shelter's universal convenience and functionality have been preferentially handled and its regional identities are reflected. For doing this, this study fulfilled application alternatives of community furniture design's basic principles after examining the storytelling process of local cultural heritages and analyzing domestic and foreign cases of bus shelters. Results of this study are as follows. First, convergent synergy effects in information and culture and art sectors could be expected as bus shelters visually deliver storytelling factors that imply locally related images. Second, space and place's characteristics and sustainable design concepts embody local characteristics. They can suggest directions for vitalizing urban environment designs by being in harmony with surrounding environments. Third, it is expected that realizing distinctive places is possible as bus shelters with local communities' aesthetic consciousness and regionality are composed of new street spaces.

  • Recent performing-art has a trend to be new cultural contents style which mixes various genre not just traditional way. Especially in stage performance, unique performance is playing using high technology and image. In sound performance, one of technology, a new experiment is trying which re-analyze the sound and mixes the result with image. But in public performance we have a technical difficulty with making visualization regarding the sound in realtime. Because we can not make visualization with instant sound from performers and audience it is difficult to interact smoothly between performer and audience. To resolve this kind of restriction, this paper suggests Real-time sound visualization. And we use string music instrument for sound source. Using the MaxMSP/Jitter based the Midi, we build image control system then we test and control the image with Korg Nano Kontrol. With above experiment we can verify verious emotion, feeling and rhythm of performer according to performance environment and also we can verify the real time interactive image which can be changed momently by performer's action.

  • In the late 16th century, the Theatrum Anatomicum or anatomical theatre opened in Leiden in the Netherlands. The theatre was open to a fee-paying audience of students, surgeons, and the public and soon settled down as one of the highbrow cultural activities in the city. This trend soon spread into Amsterdam, and Nicholaes Tulp appearing in Rembrandt van Rijn's was at the center of it. Human anatomy was not just an eyesore but started to get accepted as a cultural event for the civilized citizens of the time. It was with this backdrop that Rembrandt got inspired by this interesting scene of Tulp dissecting human body. Rembrandt well understood the changes of the time and captured them on canvas to attempt convergence between science and art.

  • Game design as an academic discipline is still in the early developing stages and the lack of fundamental study has seen game designers cloning other games with only superficial changes added to them. Game market today is going through unprecedented expansion with games for more diverse users and variety of game styles. Such trend owes to the fact that formal structures of the game can be manipulated to formulate creative and experimental forms. This paper will focus on the 'boundary' element of the game that could broaden the perspective of the game into different possibilities with emerging mobile technologies, public design's new interpretation of urban spaces and integrating interactive technologies in different phases of art.

  • This study, in order to complement instability of analysis result stemming from the choice between reference point and comparison point which is pointed out as the defect of shift-share analysis, conducted shift-share analysis using Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) trend of Geumgang area, Chungcheongnam-do for the period from 2000 to 2011. As a result of the analysis, (1) industries that had both the positive Regional Share Effect (RSE) and Industrial Mixed Effect (IME) were service industries such as manufacturing industry, electricity gas, transportation industry, art, etc., which are positively influencing the regional industry. (2) industries that had both the negative RSE and IME were other service industries such as wholesale and retail businesses, lodging industry, food industry, real estate business and leasing service, business service industry, public administration, etc., which provide basic livelihood services for the residents. (3) industries that had the positive RSE and negative IME were agriculture, forestry and fishery industry, mining industry, construction industry, and educational service industry. • Contemporary design environment is formed with image-centered trend based on pluralism. In this point of view, enterprises' building lobbies are public places containing the equivocal meaning, actively utilizing light as a design element to express the image of enterprises' identifications. Light is an immaterial entity having unlimited possibilities and potentials on space. It also acts as media to activate spaces and create new images in connection with formative elements of space. This study is to figure out how lightings are expressed and affected the formative characteristics of office lobby spaces and activate the specific characteristics of spaces. As a result, we drew conclusions as follows. First, as state-of-the-art technology and media are introduced, light is expressed on spaces as floating, direction, rhythm, silhouette, metaphor and allusion, sense of depth and volume. Second, expressive aspects of light in lobby space are embodiment of light, substantiation of immateriality, standing of materiality from the perspective of spatial aesthetics, and distortion/transformation of shape, pluralism phenomena of space from the perspective of spatial structure. In this way, light on building lobbies which are greatly required design differentiation strategy, specializes space and also integrates all the designs as not only a functional element but also a mental, psychological, formative element. Consequently, light on lobby spaces induces communication between spaces and users, makes formative value of existence in itself, and presents the characteristics of differentiated enterprises' identities.

  • Avoiding the unified productivity that was caused by the mechanical and technical development due to Industrial Revolution in the past, modern design is incessantly evolving in search of new motive, namely, diversity. Further, we live in the age when the propensity that serves public interest and purpose and sometimes shows quite individual character should be considered. As a result, the comprehensive and harmonious trend of emotional design is being highlighted more remarkably. Involving the social background that further respects human dignity, this is closely related to diverse issues such as human right which should be guaranteed and pursued for individual. While the tradition and innovation caused by the encounter of machine and art had confrontation and conflict in the past, the direction has changed to incessant evolution and interaction where paradigm of technical progress and development is newly composed and changed in modern times. The meaning of service in medical area is expanding and developing from the simple treatment to the more comprehensive healing. Medical space will evolve to the healing space that attaches importance to emotional aspect of human dimension which further understands and respects human being in the future.

Comparing their works from the perspective of shoujo manga, we can see that there are many similarities between them. Regarding the concept of composition, they all want to create works that are accessible to the majority of the public. Therefore, they choose topics which are close and attractive to mass readers as well as simple style, characters, literary devices, artistic space and time that are famous in shoujo - a popular art form of Japan. However, the ideological content in the works of both is not explicit and simple, but expresses the eternal feelings and values of humanity such as love for people, love for the homeland, country, reflecting the depths of both the conscious and the subconscious as well as profound aesthetic and philosophical values, profound aesthetic and philosophical values. Their works present the trend of interference between popular culture and elite literature.
