The purpose of this study is to make and analyse established studies of clothing pay-chology and marketing, showing the disciplin-ary trends problems and the outlook of social psychological Aspects of clothing. To achieve the purpose 621 articles have been used. -519 for master's and doctor's de-gree and 102 reported in journals -no social psychological Aspects of clothing for the past two decades(1974-1994) in Korea. All of these annual data were classified into making five years a unit. In the statistical analy-sis 'frequency' and 'percentage' were applied. To verify the degree of significance x2-test were used. 1. The trend of the study on the fields of clothing psychology consumer behavior and marketing over the period between 1974 and 1994 showed the continual trend of increase since the 1974 that the article on the field of clothing the continual trend of increase since the 1974 that the article on the field of cloth-ing psychology was first reported. 2. The domain that has the greatest pro-portion in the field of clothing psychology is concerned with the individual psychological factor and the study concerning interpersonal perception and development the measurement tool showed the tendency to continue to in-creas.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of PBL (Problem based-learning) on the social psychology of clothing course. Thirty-seven undergraduate university students completed a 15-week capstone course in a clothing and textiles department. Eighty-one percent of the participants were majoring in the clothing and textiles. The study was conducted two focus group interview with 37 undergraduate students. The participants demonstrated positive attitude toward the PBL (Problem Based Learning) in Social Psychology of Clothing course. The results showed that the students have more opportunities to practice collaboration within the team and to increase their self-esteem and self-confidence through the 15 week of teamwork. The participants were developed to express their opinion actively and solving the problem skills. Eighty percent of the instructors had a positive attitude toward the achievement of the course objectives. Seventy-five percent of the instructors expressed the difficulty of student's evaluation. Fifty-five percent of the instructors had a difficulty of development of module problems.

Conclusion a) Artists are much interested especially in design and fashion, clothing shopping and a role of clothing psychology. b) Technicians are interested in Clothing construction and clothing management. c) Although girls working in company and bank show less interest than artists in a role of clothing psychology. d) The fact that Merchants care nothing for clothing shopping was found. e) Teachers, doctors, nurses, house wives have less interest in Clothing than the other workers. The younger women becomes much interested in clothing design and fashion, clothing shopping, and earns higher income and higher educated, women becomes much interested in psychological aspect of clothing.
This study is planned to present the future direction of the study of Korean clothes through the realistic recognition of the changes of studying issues of each area of the related clothes. For this purpose, the writer of this thesis have collected, classified and analyzed those various kinds of papers and theses published in the professional magazines of clothes such as Journal of Korean Home Economics, Journal of the Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles, Journal of the Korean Society of Costume, The Research Journal of the Costume Culture so that I might examine and study the main trend of the related study. The result of the study is as follows. 1. Since the first publication of Journal of Korean Home Economics in 1959 and Journal of the Korea Society of Clothing and Textiles, and Journal of the Korean Society of Costume, the study of clothes has been gradually increased. Furthermore, since 1990 the issuing times of various kinds of Journals have been continuously increased with the foundation of The Research Journal of the Costume Culture and Journal of Fashion Business. 2. Theses and papers published in the four greatest Journals of Korean Clothing and Textiles have been studies for the detailed classification and analysis of the data. According to the study, It is found that the theses in Journal of the Korea Society of Clothing and Textiles have actively studied textiles as they had studied before 1990s and those in Journal of the Korean Society of Costume have studied history of costumes and those in The Research Journal of the Costume Culture have studied the composition and science of clothes. 3. The order of studying subjects was 1) Design and Aesthetics, 2) Fashion Merchandising 3) Textiles, 4) Clothing Construction, 5) History of Costumes, 6) Costume Culture, 7) Socio-Psychology of clothing, 8) Others. Considering the above mentioned result of the study, most of the main fields of the clothing and textiles study have been studied continuously in balance since 1990 unlike the past although the past studies had been performed largely in some main fields only. And it was found that fields of clothing styles and clothing goods have been studied most actively since 1990s. 4. The studying field of Design and Aesthetics has showed to have the trend to be studied very actively since 1990s, which has utilized various relevant data with scholastic approach to psychology and aesthetics. Regarding Fashion Merchandising, the study of consumers decision process has been performed most actively. And theses on the international trades have been published considerably more than ever before, which resulted in gradual increase in gradual increase in the study of the fields related with global marketing, internet marketing, textile products exports, and overseas brands, etc. Regarding Textiles, the field of clothing sanitation and management has been studied more actively than that of clothing materials. In case of clothing construction, the study of physical styles and pattern making has been more active than the other related fields. Fields of socio-psychology of clothing and history costume have been a little reduced. Field of costume culture has been firmly rooted as an independent subject to be studied in the clothing related study. And study of the clothes has shown various trends of studies of ethnic & folk clothes, religious and ceremonial garments, linguistic & favorite approach to clothes and academic analysis of the data.

In the field of psychology of clothing and fashion marketing, there have been many studies on clothing behavior but have been poorly catgorized according to the characteristics of variables. The author reviewed 120 recent studies on clothing varaibles published in Korea and grouped the variables into three categories. They are 1) the clot, ting atitude variables that consistently influence the Personal clothing behavior; 2) the market variables that are inherent to the market itself; and 3) the clothing consumer behavior uapiables that ate most related to the clothing consumer behavior. In this study the author surveyed and found that the following 9 major clothing attitude variables had been most frequently studied, including practicality, economy, modesity, aesthetics, fashionability, conformity and individuality, status symbolism, importance, and satisfaction. Two other categories will be reported in the following papers.

The author reviewed seventy papers on social psychology of clothing and fashion marketing fields, which were published in the Journal of the Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles between 1983 and 1996. The market variables and consumer behavior variables were focused on. This review showed that the market variables had been divided into three groups of variables: 1) product variables (product image and product classification): 2) brand variables (brand image and brand positioning): and 3) store variables (store image, store type, and distribution system) Consumer behavior variables have been studied on the basis of EBM Consumer Behavior Model: 1) purchasing motivation as need recognition: 2) information using as search information: 3) evaluation criteria and choice criteria as alternative evaluatioin : 4) clothing purchase, brand choice and store choice as purchase: 5) degree of wear, satisfaction and dissatisfaction as outcome: and 6) clothing discard. Variables that influence on consumer behavior, including situation variables, clothing attitude variables, personal . social variables were added to develop a variable model of clothing consumer behavior using the EBM Consumer Behavior Model.
The purpose of this study is to find the relationship between the clothing behavior and the MBTI personality type. I selected the college women of W college 96 grade as an object of this study for MBTI personality type test. It is analyzed to relation according to energy direction, perceiving function, behavior style, and function/temperament of psychology. This study presents the fashion, modesty, ostentation, extravagance, and aesthetic of clothing behavior in relation to MBTI personality type. The results of study is as follows : 1. There was the difference of significant level(P<0.05) between fashion and perceiving function on MBTI preference tendency of personality type. When person having a lot of fashion corrects a information, this person mostly uses the function of intuition among perceiving function. 2. There was the difference of significant level(P<0.05) between modesty and perceiving function on MBTI preference tendency of personality type. Modesty was deeply related to introversion of person having energy direction. 3. There was no difference of significant level between ostentation and energy direction, perceiving function, behavior style, decision function on MBTI reference tendency of personality type. 4. There was shown the difference of significant level(P<0.01) between extravagance and energy direction on MBTI preference tendency of personality type. Extravagance is deeply related to extraversion of person having external experience. 5. There was no difference between aesthetic and clothing behavior. 6. There was no difference between function / temperament of psychology and clothing behavior.

This study investigated the influence of consumers' self-construal and self-monitoring on brand product preference by moderating brand visibility. Brand visibility consisted of product typicality and brand salience. The study results showed that respondents preferred products with high product typicality and low brand salience. Respondents with interdependent self-construal and high self-monitoring also showed a higher preference for high product typicality and low brand salience versus respondents with independent self-construal and low self-monitoring. Respondents preferred a product when they recognized a brand name, but brand visibility should be exposed naturally. Based on these results, this study has practical implications for the importance of maintaining brand identity and the appropriacy of brand logo size.

According to the literatures of marketing, psychology, and other related areas, the situational influences on consumers' decision-making process have been significant, thus increased explanatory power of consume behavior when introduced in a research as one of the independent variables. Considering the characteristics of clothing as a consumer goods, situational influences on clothing purchase behavior were expected to be significant. As the theoretical backgrounds of situational influences on clothing purchase behavior, this study was to propose the definition of sitution in Clothing & Textiles department, and to suggest the types of situational variables affecting clothing purchase process in consideration of the results of consumer behavior research and the research related to clothing. The results of this study suggested that the definition of situation, subjective situation or objective situation, should be adjusted to the purpose of research, and that the types of situations affecting clothing purchase process might be defined into three types; wearing situation, communication situation, and purchasing situation. It was also suggested that the empirical studies would be necessary to verify the results, and the conceptual framework for the types of situations and the personality characteristics related to the clothing purchase situation should be identified.

This study analyzed the effects of internet fashion consumer's anticipated regret and the selection difficulty on decision making delay and purchase switching intention. The survey was conducted in 2012 on internet fashion consumers in their 20s to 40s from May 1 to June 30; subsequently, 487 responses were used for the data analysis. The anticipated regret of internet fashion consumers was composed of product, service, social psychology, and function-related anticipated regret. The selection difficulty of internet fashion consumers was composed of process, information, and experience-related selection difficulty. There are significant differences in anticipated regret, selection difficulty, decision making delay, and purchase switching intention by gender. The anticipated regret (product, service, and social psychology-related anticipated regret) and selection difficulty effected decision making delay. In addition, the anticipated regret for product and selection difficulty by process or information influenced purchase switching intention. The results of this study provide useful information on the success and efficient operation of internet shopping malls.
